I have never ever seen a Hackmaster thread in this board, so I made one. Seriously, why isn't this more popular? It's basically a perfect mix of AD&D, GURPS, Palladium Fantasy and Rolemaster all in one neat package. Combat being pretty tactical but not overwhelming, also character creation being a mix of random with point buy is probably one of the better ways to handle minmaxxers. Now, after I sold my pitch, would you give it a chance? The Basic rules are free and give you all pointers to start playing and seeing if you want to try the more detailed rules.

Bold of you to assume /tg/ actually play games. Also, still no news on Kenzer new game.

I don't want to mix all those games since I have zero interest in GURPS or Rolemaster and would rather run AD&D and RIFTs on it's own. Dealing with point buy crap is not a plus in my book.
Last I heard the AD&D side of it is underpowered with characters being half a strong so a high level hackmaster character would be dealing with low-to-mid level AD&D type adventures, again not a plus in my book.
I'm way more interested in Aces & Eights when it comes to Kenzer.

My old Hackmaster group disbanded so now I am stuck playing PF2e.

Hackmaster only take the critical table from Rolemaster, the main mechanic is AD&D d20 combat and d100 under for skills.

Dark Eye is a better "Random with Point Buy" D&D clone
