>Previous Thread:>>96151608>Thread Question:Do you have a dream Fantasy project? What's stopping you from starting?
>>96158840That's dope, when did you finish that?
>>96158898Hmm, I think like or 2021 was the last unit I made.( I made like 30 pistoliers) thought since itโs just lots of fun I just kept making characters and occasional bloated corpses since.
Pics just a medley of coast I was planning to use in a skirmish game.
We claim this thread as our rightful property.
>TQ
A cathayan wuxia army.
>whatโs stopping you
The army just seems so uninspired, both rule and model wise. Iโll focus on my other warhammer armies until Cathay stops being a micro faction, and no, I donโt give a shit about Miao ying or empire allies.
>>96158868 (OP)>TQAn ostermark army. Knights of Morr, witchhunters, and a usual mix of dudes. Maybe get some magyar/carparthian inspired heads n hats
>what's stopping meI gotta finish my current army, and then time and money. Mostly time.
>>96158936How is this mofo making Models with one arm?
>>96159070Not yet either, doubly annoying as I ordered a war dancer command to get freeshipping (I have 9 6th ed ones so they match) and I haven't gotten any news. Let hope the MTO didn't get delayed like the release.
>>96159163I ordered ghoross as well and he hasn't come yet.
>>96159327Well they say they have 180 days to fulfill it and we know beastmen are always on the lower end of priority so.....well guess my bestigor standard will proxy as BSB till Christmas.
>>96158868 (OP)>Do you have a dream Fantasy project? My next project will be a Chorf army.
>What's stopping you from starting?I am broke and can't afford shit until I get a job.
>mfw looking at every army on the website and trying to pick one
>>96159539Paint is alright but you gotta have more fun with the kit bruv
Sus mine
>>96159239Hell yeah. Are you free handing the banner or transfers?
>>96159685Will have another go at free handing.
First attempt on my gor banner was ass, I had a look through the beastmen alphabet and did the shamans name but it's kinda doodoo
>>96159702The good thing with beastmen that it still looks fitting even though it looks like smeared shit. I used transfer sheet myself
>>96159716Nice Gors bro,
Unfortunately my Gors would defile your herd and defecate on the corpse of your warlord after ripping each member limb from limb
I really like chaos in WH, and I'd like to have (in some years) a huge chaos alliance, with several armies blended together.
Is it possible in any game? Or do I just have to go:
AoS -> StD, skavens, chorfs, god specific armies
ToW -> Chaos warriors, Beastmen
Isn't there really an "all armies together" option in a single game?
>>96159076There's actually some images of him doing that in old WDs, back when they were hyping up the original version of LotRSBG. He had to learn to use his off-hand to sculpt because he was right-handed.
In other news, despite what people tell you- the Green Knight story's gotten scuffed over the years. People tell you it was the one he was sculpting when the cannon accident happened- he actually finished it *before* he lost the arm.
The actual first model he made after the accident was Repanse.
>>96159076he has a pincer, do you not know the story about the green kinght?
>warhammer RPG E*f Player Handbook
>has all kind of classes EXCEPT the only good elves, the white lions
Disappointing!
>>96159742I forget but the End Times Archaon book might have rules for allying a bunch of Chaos units together in the same army.
what citadel color would be best to paint the copper of the cathay cannons?
>>96159902Wait, Cathay's in Warhammer, finally?
>>96159910released 3 weeks ago, yes.
>>96159921Neat. They have the second best cannons in the video game.
>>96159926yeah, painting that thing atm. just wondering what copper color they used for the model.
>>96159742Try Grand Alliance: Chaos in Age Of Sigmar 1st edition, 2nd generals handbook
>>96159932Oh, please, PLEASE show it once it's done.
Making a dragonlad from an archon studios kit, dont think hes too far from being done I just need to choose/make a suitable helmet for him
>>96159850>>961597428th Edition Legions of Chaos/End Times lists basically let you slap almost any chaotic shit like daemons, warriors, chorfs, beastmen etc you wanted together, and storm of magic had extra shit you could sprinkle in like mammoths and exalted greater daemons.
>>96159952Looking great anon, very Galrauch art.
I'm not sure if it's actually smaller, but the dragon's got a skinnier/lankier build than GW ones, you should go for a smaller, even helmetless head on the rider, so it doesn't look too weighed down. Something like the champion on these guys could work, he's got a tiny, sunken head, but still looks suitably intimidating.
>>96159952That looks great!
>>96159985The kit was smaller than I was expecting yeah, hes about the same size as Galrauch, quite a bit smaller than the AoS dragons, but for a non-emperor dragon thats s6 t6 w6 I feel like the size is about right.
Makes for easier transport too lol
>>96160039Thanks lad
>>96159952Great WIP Anon, for myself I was planning to mix up two of their dragons (the one you used and the zombie one).
for Tomb King Royal Host, how many chariots would you run in a unit?
Should I put my spellsinger inside the sisters of thorn unit or have her go solo?
One of the things missing from wfb is the neoprene objective circles
>>96160442those were added in the match play guide
>>96160442they should make ones that light up when you capture the hecking objective
just like my video games
>>96160442while I understand not liking the circles from narrative elements, it takes out any arguments as to whether your unit is or is not on an objective so I'm all for em
>>96160468Why would you even play with people who "argue" over something so silly? And if you're the homo arguing, why not just give your opponent the benefit of doubt? Are games not intended for enjoyment after all?
>>96160476>Why would you even play with people who "argue" over something so silly? The WAAC mindset is the answer
>>96160442TOW is so shit it can't even accommodate shitty L shaped ruins without breaking the game
GW revealed this month that Hashut was once a mortal. He ascended to godhood in the far past.
Any opinions on this?
>>96160561it was a common fan theory already and beats the lazier chaosfaggotry of "he was a sockpuppet of khorne all along"
I'm putting my money on a son of gazul, and brother of skavor.
>>96160476because I like playing games and not everyone is as chill as you would like? like its not that hard to envision I feel
>>96160561nuGW lore isn't canon. It's like Amazon writing new lore for Lord of the Rings, it doesn't count and anyone who takes it seriously is a retard
>>96160572>immediately begins arguing defensively I found the problem
>>96160573but its the offical lore and so are the end times.
your feelings dont matter.
>>96160578nuGW isn't the official creators of Warhammer, it's a necromancer playing with its corpse
>>96160578>offical loreLol cope more
Since they introduced Cathaih as a faction, the Kislevites will also do so in the future, right?
>>96160496Is this perrynigger?
Best combo to do with this guy? Is it bow of loren + muster of malevolents + swiftshiver shards like it says in 1d6?
>>96160595I fkin love kislevites
>>96160468or you could just build an awesome piece of terrain/diorama with a circular base of the requisite size
>>96160595I don't think so because his real-life counterpart is at war.
>>96160595correct, some rumors say as soon as this winter
>>96159076Especially considering he has SOVL and sculpts everything by 'hand'(singular), meanwhile nuGW sculptors have twice as many hands and still have to rely on CADslop and ChatGPT... Sad!
>>96160561>>96160573I mean it's fine. there's precedent for both dwarfs worshipping their ancestors as gods and for chaos champions rising to demi-godhood. and ancient mortals becoming gods is thematic for warhammer generally. so the god of the chaos dwarfs being a former chaos dwarf champion isn't jarring.
by contrast:
>>96160569every variant of the "all gods are just facets of the chaos gods" shtick is the worst kind of nuGW trash lore. yes, there is some old fluff that backs the idea up, but it was always on the level of "ramblings of a madman in a cave, as transcribed by sir gustave the just, later burned for heresy" unreliable narrator. to try and make a setting like warhammer where everything is coherent and explicable and all the loose ends are tied up is to make it a pile of shit.
>>96160613Poland's at war?
>>96160606that works too but people always take the path of least resistance and so you end up with them instead
>>96160651All good, those people can play on tables that reflect their efforts like
>>96160442. Couldn't be me tho.
>>96160561>GW revealed this month that Hashut was once a mortalfor a totally different franchise, yep, not sure what it has to do with us though.
>>96160643I'm not talking about the current war, the one being waged against a separatist rebel state.
>>96160586they are though and they decide what the lore is.
cope harder
>>96160706kek you're the same type of nigga that takes Disney Star wars seriously
>>96160669because the AoS hashut is the same from WHFB
>>96160656>stop having fun wrong
>>96160709you are the one crying about lore, not me.
>>96160669>for a totally different franchise, yepNope. It's not totally different since characters and gods from Fantasy are the same ones in AoS.
Although some gods suffered changes from one setting to another (like Grimnir dying or Morathi becoming a goddess), most of their fluff remained the same; and if it's revealed that Hashut - the chaos god that turned the Dawi of the Darklands into Dawi-Zharr - and been previously an ancestor god, then that retcon applies to both AoS and Fantasy.
>>96160750>no u!incredible
>>96160476This. Don't play with sub CCG/vidya twats
Anyone got any brotips for a good proxy for a Mortis Engine/Coven Throne?
I've got one 3d printed off raging heroes but honestly it's too ornate and fiddly for my tastes and i'm debating if I should even paint it. (similar issue with the official GW one)
>>96159742Talk to your opponent. Honestly you should be fine bringing whatever you want, as long as you aren't picking the waac options from every faction.
>>96159602> Loser can't make a decisionLmao at this fag
>>96160468> Arguments over whether someone is in range of an objective Sounds like you play with fags
>>96159742End times did that for chaos but at that point GW didn't give a fuck anymore.
Some of the armies have allies you can slot in. And no, there isn't an 'all options army's in any GW game, they don't want you to save money they want you to purchase an entire army for each
>>96160476> Unpainted shit> AoS circles and ovalsWhy would you post this? Don't you feel ashamed?
>>96160601Every SLAV should die, and double so for SLAV LOVERS like this faggot
>>96160689KiSLAV is a shit faction with a shitty, DISGUSTING aesthetic based on the 'culture' of disgusting apes. The only positive from including them in the game is being able to kill them on the battlefield
>>96160482People advocating for vagueness that can be exploited are more likely WAAC fags anon
>>96160965>wondering which country would harbor such hatred towards slavs in general
>>96160965let's see that physique,.tough guy kek
>>96160965anglo hands typed this
>>96161017>anglobut why? historically, their people have had zero touchpoints
>>96160712False
>>96160759Very compelling, I'm not interested in whatever asspull the focus groups came up with for their new and totally distinct franchise though.
>>96160994Bitch can you even bench 300lbs?
If you can't you best check that fucking tone and lower your eyes when you speak, or even type, at me
>>96160984That narrows it down to 'every country that has ever interacted with slavs or has a slave immigrant population.'
>>96160747They can have fun however they like on their 2D tables with their neoprene circles, more power to them
>>96159742I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that in 6th ed you were able to run warriors, daemons, and beastmen all in one army by using the two chaos army books. Chaos dwarfs didn't have an army book, but with a bit of finagling you could use the ravening hordes (they did have a RH list, right?) list too, and of course you could make an army of skaven to use as allies, if you wanted to. Seriously, why do we have more people suggesting you play AoS or 8th and not 6th? Maybe we really have been overrun by 8thfags, AoSfags, and ToWfags... it would explain why the threads have been so awful recently. Anyway, enough with this "god-specific army" nonsense! That's what marks were for! Read the 6th edition army books! You don't need god-specific army books when you can make perfectly suitable mono-god armies already! Stop playing bad editions with bad army books and go play 6th.
>>96160965How furious, he is definitely Ukrainian.
>>96161048At this point WAP is the superior edition and it's not even close.
>>96161048>they did have a RH list, right?Yes indeed, not only that but apparently it was also the most playtested and optimised of all the RH lists because they knew at the time of writing that chorfs wouldn't be getting an army book.
>>96161031>diverts to bench PR Yeah you're fat kek
>>96160496BAP was perrynigger all along some deep lore implications with this one
Since we have two communist factions in The Old World, we can wait for the Indi and Khuresh kingdoms in the future, right?
>>96161133Ok I'll bite, Cathay and...?
>>96161133You can wait, but you won't get anything
>>96160599That or the hail of doom for 1x a game anti blob shot

is this really the worst warhammer general on this site?
>>96161282What are you even trying to say
>>96161343do you want aos?
>>96159702Looks fine to me
Can always go out on any chariot Heros or bestigors for banners. For gor it looks fine.
>>96159742All those no game replies, you ha e alliances baked into TOW and most editions of WHFB. Literally read the book.
>>96161343Nah 40kg exists

>>96161392allies are kinda dumb desu anon
>>96161092> Can't benchSo when do you start your HRT anon?
>>961613432nd only to 40k, as always.
>>96161073> Ukrainian Also gross slavs but if they kill some Russian slavs I'll give them a slight pass.
> WfgUmmmm lizardmen when GW?
I am going tobe facing a night gobbo themed army tomorrow. Guy seems sound, hope for a mutual bloodbath but only one question: Fanatics
How exactly can I tank the initial damage from fanatic releasing?
AFAIK, even if I charge him, he can dump 3 fanatics for autohits into my unit the next turn.
>>96161465There's very little you can do other than bait long charges, or use some spell vortexes to block them or risk then sploding.
>>96161282That's not bait, that's my genuine opinion. What the fuck happened to these threads? Perryfag needs to hang, at least we can agree on that. That is that and this is this.
>>96161281They're kleptocracies. Which is like communism but with less pretentiousness.
>>96161482Welp. Death or glory it is! Can I conform the fanatics can be released from anywhere? Front, flank etc
>>96161507Yes, anywhere within 3 inches. do remember he is limited to 1 per 10 gobbos max of 3. If he has more than 6 fanatics I wouldn't bother playing him as he is a massive faggot.
>>96161536Bit late for that, already arranged. I will see how it goes. Will report back.
>>96161465You could try baiting them out as fast as possible with fast moving units.
Itโs high risk high reward, but popping them early means they have a higher chance of just killing themselves before they do real damage or they wheel around back into the other night goblins
>>96161488>What the fuck happened to these threads? The same thing that happened to /tg/ generally. People who contribute meaningfully moved to other venues.
The other big thing is that TOW dropped.
This created a division between grogs, who still haven't forgiven GW, and new fags and consumers.
An anon got butt hurt that people mocked for his round based perry minis. He's become a dedicated troll exploiting the grog/consooomer divide.
Sprinkle, culture war shit, and people not being able to ignore trolls and one of the best generals has become one of the worst.
>>96161567I got two units of 5 hounds and will have 3 ogres to potentially bait. Considering my army, guess its the best thing. Ironically my marauders could be used too but they're so splatty I rather keep them in reserve to do damage.
Thanks mind.
>>96161536>Anon hates fun
>>96161488If its been 20+ years and you're still this hostile to the majority of the community, it's time to reassess your life. Even pre TOW 6th was not the most popular even if often seen as a apex edition in hindsight. And if you spat this much bile here before TOW people would have assumed your baiting or not worth the effort.TOW currently has a pretty good ruleset rivaling 6th and has revitalized the community so why not spend your time encouraging people to play 6th instead of showing them only malajusted grogs who hate everything but their narrow vision of fantasy play 6th?
I get some of the anger tho, especially since Cathay got announced we've been raided constantly by people with 0 intent to ever roll a single dice. Just don't take it out on people playing a supported and at worst decent edition of TOW
>>96161678>of TOWMeant that is TOW
>>96161678Being surprised that nobody mentioned one of the 4 editions which gave chaos exactly what that anon was asking for without having to rely on End Times books/playing another system is not "bile". Calling people -fags is not "bile", nor is it hostility, where do you think you are? But, fine, I should have been more clear in my wording. Personally, I completely disagree about TOW rivaling 6th. I've played TOW, over a dozen games of it even, and I don't like it as much as I do 6th. I'd go as far as to say I actually quite dislike TOW. It has boring army books (not that the army lists are even worthy of being called that) and has horrendous balance that incentivizes building annoying and gameist lists. Don't get me wrong, I've had fun with TOW, but I've also seen what happens when it's played competitively and it just isn't good. Anyway, if you really took that extremely mild banter as "bile" and "hostility", you should unwad your panties.
>>96161764Playing WHFB competitively is almost always a shitshow regardless of edition
>>96161658> Spamming fanatics > 'fun'
>>96161678I heard on the internet, I think from a YouTuber whose opinions on WHFB I generally respect, say that 7th with 6th edition army books is the best way to play WHFB.
Can anyone comment?
So I want to get into TOW with (printed) chorfs, and I was hoping I could get some listbuilding advice for that. I've got a 1k entry point list going to start with, but would anyone have any feedback for it here? Anything I should remove or add or change around?
>>96161764Competitive TOW is definitely worse than competitive 6th (which wasn't that good to begin with) but I think that's largely a function of 6e not relying on killing entire units, rather on breaking them with morale, and having a much more limited cap on the achievable power of an individual character/unit. I think there are aspects of TOW that are better than 6e: the TOW rules let you make much more rules-interesting units, and the magic items in TOW are definitely superior to 6e.
>>96162129Don't put banners in your hobgrots. The rest is fine, whatever. It's a 1k game just have fun
>>96162122Yes and no
6th ed has some good things going for it. It was a reset after 5th ed so herohammer was scaled way back. Heros are pretty dull for the most part but units are generally balanced against eachother. High elves begin their primacy and dark elves are shit but balance is as good as it gets till TOW. Also 6th can be very slow to play, lots of rules and bookkeeping spells etc. It can play sort of bland but solid.
I think one reason 8th always stayed much more popular is while a total mess, the larger scale and massive swings are more epic. Just for every game turning event is 2 retarded blowouts.
I think TOW is probably the best version of fantasy all things taken into account. Itโs not perfect and some things are much worse than in other editions ( how magic works ) but on the whole itโs pretty damn great.
>>96159932>just wondering what copper color they used for the model.Looks more like brass to me.
Any tips for collecting Chaos Dwarfs? Love the original designs but an entire metal army doesn't sound fun so I'm shopping around for proxies. If anyone has personal experience with some then let me know. The few proxies I've had proonted ended up being lemons so I'd rather get something reliable.
>>96162242From my limited understanding, 7th was like a patched 6th UNTIL they started releasing books for it, and then Matt Ward broke the entire game. Is this accurate?
I do recall some bullshit with Monstrous Infantry still needing to be 5 wide for a single rank which was bullshit
>>96162403thereโs a few different choices available rn, scroll through the last 2-3 threads and youโll see them
(I donโt own any so I canโt comment as to quality/other concerns/etc)
>>96162403Wartable has some resin Legion of Azgorh stuff if you're into them, but if you want more classic-looking Chorfs then Fabelzel on Etsy makes nice looking classic-style bighat Chorfs.
>>96162407Yeah, I don't remember much of 7th because my buddy played daemons and rofltstomped us into us waiting till he got wood elves (who were kind of gay to fight but at least evaporated in melee)
>>96162129Fireglaives are both for fighting and for shooting and thus should have more models. Maybe 6 wide, 3 deep
>>96162129Don't waste points by giving hobgobs armor
>>96162263TOW is the only version you have even played, and that's giving you the benefit of the doubt, because it's highly likely you haven't even played a game of TOW either
>>96162511I'll add that his hobgobbos tend to be the best recreation of the og sculpts
>>96162129Bull centaur unit is pretty meaty. I'd split it in two so you can harass both flanks. Fireglaives are good but their range sucks as your main gunline unit. I'd maybe cut down on bull centaurs to get an artillery piece in like deathshrieker (best arty piece for its points).
>>96162403Abyssal dworfs from Kings of War
>inb4 lel mantic shit
>>96162403>Love the original designs but an entire metal army doesn't sound funfabelzel
>>96162403>The few proxies I've had proonted ended up being lemonsIn what way? I've printed a few armies now, maybe I can help either with what to look for in a printer or which model ranges to look for that will print well etc. Here's a couple of my prints to act as my resume
God damn Perrynigger seems to be on his period with how much vitriol heโs been spewing in this thread.
so cathay will get ranged troops in the form of empire state troops from now on
im not a big total war guy but as they are asian the safest bet would be to invest into painting handgunners amirite
Any new Dogs of War/Border Princes leaks?
>>96162767Just wait until the Army of Infamy's properly previewed and paint Cathay stuff in the meantime anon. For all we know right now, the only Empire units included in it could be Flagellants and War Wagons.
>>96162768No, there are no leaks.
>>96162768No leaks on here just one schizo
I think he might have gotten a three day vacation
>>96162767In the next edition Cathay will get another wave with shit like crane gunners. Just be patient
So with HH being DOA I assume this will leave specialist games with more time to focus on TOW.
>>96162767This makes me want to buy some Japanese models to make a "Cathay" army.
>>96162768entire Perry catalogue MTO
>>96162403Lost kingdom chaos dwarfs were pretty good in my experience. Warp miniatures went for a more cartoonish and exaggerated style, which I also happen to like quite a lot, but the models don't have big hats.
Do not buy mantic abyssal dwarfs, their quality is really bad, pic related.
>>96160873what style or theme are you after?
>>96162403Here are some comparison pictures I just made of different chorfs on my vitrine. Mantic, lost kingdom and warp miniatures.
>>96163014Here are gunners from mantic, warp miniatures and lost kingdom.
>>96163014>>96163018And bull centaurs from fabelzel and warp miniatures. Much too small for the 75x50 bases, mind you.
>>96162858Why would HH be DoA? Do we already have pre-order numbers?
>>96162858That's naive of you, gw will push towards shrimplifying hh until the pigs pay, and then will do the same with tow.
>>96163014>>96163018>>96163027The goofiness of Warp is definitely my favorite.
>Much too small for the 75x50 bases, mind you.I kinda like the idea of them absolutely swimming on a 50x75. Like they're way more dangerous than they look.
>>96163070They're STLs so you absolutely can scale them to be bigger.
>>96163035>>96163037 One of the largest distributors in Europe increased their discount from 20% to 35% on the 3.0 launch box today. Itโs DOA.

(although I wouldn't mind if it's a bit more fantastical and detailed than taking an empire war wagon and adding skeletons to it if you catch my drift)

Fabelzel is likely the best attempt at a third party approximating the originals.

White angel miniatures have some as well.

TL;DR: make sure your printer is printing in an ABS-like or toughness resin, at a layer height of ideally 0.03mm and certainly no larger than 0.05mm, and is thoroughly washing the prints to get excess resin off - and if they aren't, ask for a refund. Better yet, find a local guy who can do your prints e.g. in your LGS or gaming group or something. Or check out principenero on Etsy.
>By lemon I mean I got models that had all kinds of design and production issues. The designs themselves were brittle with most models arriving in a crumbling state. Some spearmen, for example, had spears that were thinner than a toothpick, so they were all snapped and too thin to even attempt to glue back.Sounds like a mix of poor resin and sculpts that are not optimised for 3d printing. Some resins are better than others, after testing many resins I personally use sunlu ABS-like mixed 50:50 with sunlu toughness. The final prints feel like injection moulded plastic in the hand, they have a degree of flex to them, and they can survive a drop or two without breaking. You can even drill into them easily. If your printer was using cheap standard resin then yeah it'll be incredibly brittle and break even through regular game handling, I've used standard resins before and snapped models just by bracing my pinky finger against them while painting.
[1/2]
What's the most terrain heavy game of TOW you've played in and how did you think it worked with the rules?
I'm thinking of picking it up (players at my LGS) but the thing I don't like most about games is when the only terrain you get are a couple of trees and two symmetrical hills so if the rules make anything else terrible to play I want to know that upfront.
How terrain heavy can you get before the rules get in the way is more my concern. Obviously i'm not talking tournament stuff here but friendly games dicing off who gets to pick starting side, does the game suck playing like that or does it work fine?
>>96163467>>96164163>And the prints themselves came out wrong and not as crisp with details melting into the model. These were from someone who was at least well reviewed and seemed reliable on Etsy.People have varying expectations when it comes to print quality and sadly this does affect etsy ratings imo. Before I got my first printer I ordered a print off a well-reviewed Etsy seller, the print arrived and blew my mind and I left a very positive review - but looking back on it now, I can see all the corners the seller cut. Since print time depends on layer height, Etsy sellers will use the most egregious layer heights just to get orders printed as fast as possible so they can fulfill more orders. This results in a model with lots of visible layer lines, which are especially obvious after drybrushing.
As for details melting into the model, that sounds like loose resin has been cured onto the model. When finished prints come out the vat, they are still coated in viscous resin which should be washed off the final print with (in most cases) isopropyl alcohol. Then the print goes through a final round of UV curing. If you skimp on the IPA wash, or your IPA is saturated with resin from many prior washes, you won't clean the model properly, and then any leftover loose resin will get "baked" onto the model when you put it under the UV light. Which, again, are only issues if the printing guy cuts corners. Easy grounds for a refund.
>Your pic, for example, looks stellar. The ones I got were nothing of that quality. Thanks friend, it's all just practice!
If you like the fabelzel sculpts then check out principenero on Etsy. He is the son of Max152, who has taken over the fabelzel project to expand the range with new sculpts. Max152 is slowly releasing his new designs as STLs but has given his son a headstart on selling the prints for a few months first. From my somewhat experienced printer's eye, his quality looks good, so might be worth a shot. Good luck!

>>96165655they've had legacy rules for ToW this entire time, they have the most units they've ever had
>>96165376i feel like warhammer suffered/suffers from the same fate as warmachine did, where it can look really good with lots of flavorful terrain and the promotional photos always showed it as such, but that the game system itself reeeeeeaaaaally works against terrain interacting with the figures at all, and so players just default to a couple trees and a house or some bushes or flat terrain. at the end warmachines terrain ultimately just became flat cutouts because it interfered with the game so much and i feel like whfb/tow would go that way too if it werent for the fact that its players are more narrative driven, often to the point of building deliberately worse armies or formations just for the sake of flavor and aesthetics.

>>96165686NTA, but I considered it a โbe the change you want to seeโ issue.
For most people terrain takes a massive backseat to their actual armies, few people are thinking โyep time to load of the terrainโ when they get ready to travel for a game, you have to come up with a storage solution that may or may not be an issue for your own terrain, and once you do have a acceptable, but not obsessive amount of terrain you kind of get the feeling of your tables always look the same because you can field a nice table, but itโs a kind of the same one for a bit.
For my group we know 100% a game store doesnโt exist outside of a two hour one way drive for us so we bucked up, pooled our money to get the materials to build two tables on our own with one being needlessly massive for narrative shit, and me and three other guys got to building and printing terrain. If we hadnโt decided fuck it we ball all our games would be on a kitchen table with coke cans and books as terrain.
>>96164406Lol.

>>96164365The army list heavily restricted all the Cold One units (because the TOW writers are a bunch of SLACK jawed FAGGOTS) so you can't take as many knights or chariots as you want. >>96167472>>96167540It's correct.
Characters riding mounts count as their mount's sub-type (page 204 of the core rulebook)
Page 205 mentions Lone Characters are always considered to be Skirmish formation.
Royal Pegasus is Monstrous Cavalry, which falls under the Cavalry umbrella, so it can be a Skirmisher.
Shugengan is a Monstrous Creature, which falls under the Monster umbrella, which is always counted as a Close Order unit (info on page 104 of the core rulebook), too big to be a Skirmisher.
>>96165845This soulds a bit shit. I was going for repeaters and dark riders anyway to fill up core, then max knights and chariots, and get a couple of chariots as character mounts for a master and a high beast master. Maybe a small unit of BBC Guard for style points, too.

And since lone characters count as skirmishers, any ranged attack against an regular or heavy infantry character (assuming you could shoot them at all) benefits from the -1 to be hit from the Skirmisher rule. Has to have unit strength of 1 to benefit, monstrous infantry, cavalry and larger are too big to benefit.

Seriously when the fuck is the GM's guide for TOW RPG coming out
>>96167958Give that man a mustache and it's perfect.
>>96168545"very soonโข"
i don't get why they didn't just release the book at the same time as the players guide
Do wargear options even matter visually anymore now that everyone has armed to the teef
>>96169054as much as they did in previous editions where you could also do the same, yes.
I just realized this is the great proxy for a sorceress on dark pegasus
>>96169083>as much as they did in previous editionsso no?
>>96169126That's what I am doing in the cavalry AoI for Empire
Her tactical rock full assembled is slightly too wide but you can just half assemble it and it works
>>96168973Something must have happened in that one of the writer's snuck in some political thing in there like in the new Epic game that delayed it. People have had to do the promotional actual plays using just the player's guide so clearly this isn't something C7 wanted.
>>96169205They have given out the GM guide to certain people. This guy even did an overview of it
>https://illmetbymorrslieb.wordpress.com/2025/07/21/the-old-world-rpg-gamemasters-guide-first-impressions/ so I'm pretty sure those guys doing Actual plays were given the GM guide
>>96167493Arooooo
>>96167519I love your albino herd anon, keep at it!
>>96167875Solid looking anon!
>>96167958That's looking really solid, luv me some twins
>>96169193everyone is always assumed to wield a basic hand weapon even when it's not modelled, what you're meant to display on the model is what they have beyond that, such as the wargear option, so yes, it matters visually.
>>96169126Other than that goofy eye hair sure.
>>96169276Absolutely, I'm gonna put a sexy face on her
>>96169126I have nothing against proxying a dude on a mount with a model without a mount, but I don't like it when people do it and I will judge you for it.
My dream AJ would be one that comes out that gives an Army of Infamy to each of the four chaos gods.
>Cult of Pleasure
>High Elf realms Army of Infamy instead of the Dark Elf subfaction it was before, but basically the same list just replacing the Dark Elf units with relevant High Elf ones (also works as a stealth Dark Elf army if they don't want to bring Legends stuff back properly)
>Nurgle army of infamy that's themed around the Cold Mire, for Warriors of Chaos, and is just the old Tamurkhan stuff + Fimir (plus can take some Nurgle daemons ofc)
>Tzeentch army of infamy for Empire, not thought out exactly how it would fit but definitely with a Magister hero fluffed to lead them all and the ability to take Tzeentch daemons
>Not got any real idea for Khorne, one fun thing could be a dwarf AoI that's sort of like the old Legion of Azgorh but focusing more on the heavy industry and obviously without the wizards.
>>96169373She is the mount. My mount.
>>96169448>Tzeentch army of infamy for EmpireThis is my WIP army actually.
>>96169448>Tzeentch army of infamy for EmpireThat one is pretty easy.
Just make it a Cult list based on the Purple Hand or the Red Crown from TEW, and it being fluffed as State Trooper Deserters, Beastmen and Mutants being led by Magisters to overthrow the already collapsing and weak Empire.
Khorne, I guess you could focus on the Warrior Honour stuff, so make it so it's a bunch of Brettonians that have drunk from a brass Khornate skull Grail so their evil grail knights and their entourage that are uber elitist.
>>96169500Oh yeah brettonian Khorne list could be sick.
>>96169373>I have nothing against it >I don't like it
Which one is it?
>>96167087>>96167519Working on ungors too. Clean your mold lines, beastbros. I also paid special attention to removing the gap between the arms and the body.
>>96169448My buddy ported the old cult of pleasure list to TOW, if interested I can tell you how we ended up doing things.
>>96169544I'm not racist
I just don't like em
>>96169580Oh yeah I'd be interested in a pdf, was tempted to do it myself so curious what changes he made.
>>96169584Anyone have a fantasy version of pic?
Lizardmen soon. Trust the plan.

Any good online resources for matched play / score tracking? Other game I play is Kill Team and there's a great site that keeps track of scoring, turn number, etc.
>>96169731The Great Plan sure does move slow.
>>96169591He's out fishing so he will return in a few days with a pdf/text (and some filets for me) but from what I remember
>updated pts for dark elves, WoC, and Daemons from their respective lists. Same with options>magic items are dark elves, daemons use their stuff. MoS and slaanesh magic items available to everyone (but daemons who only get gifts)>anointed we've gone back and forth. 2, 3 attacks base for a 12 pt naked elf is at times too good or not good. We've settled for 1 attack base.>like in Daemons, special>Core and Rare>special if it has MoS>goes without saying but everything has to buy the MoS. 1,2,5pts a model. Uses WoC version for rules.>spell lore is whatever is available to the caster and then can replace for LoS(1 spell)He runs usually anointed, darkshards, and daemonettes as core. 1 dark elf wizard, 1 herald of slaanesh and an aspiring slaanesh champ. Then seekers, fiends, and bolt throwers. That's the core list atm. He should be back this weekend so I'll post what he sends when he does.
>>96169759Iโm sorry are you fluent in old onese? Do you know how long it takes to decipher this shit?
>>96169225Thanks Anon, although they aren't albino (in that case their fur would also need to be white) they just very pale.
>>96169576Fixed the mold line by carefully scraping it off with a sharp hobby knife and slowly highlighted the thin strip back up.
>>96166830THATS TOO CLOSE TO HOME
>>96167561Yeah and a 40k imperial knights is one model, so does that mean it should be a 1/30th the price of state troops?
>>96168545https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21Cc6dw4P8E
>>96170362Will be a few days for now from memory
>>96170203
>>96160561>evil Ancestor God like Skavor>decides to go full CHAOS CHAOS CHAOS after the Great Catastrophe and ascends>Skavor presumably does the same and becomes the Horned RatI'm okay with this. Much better than how The Lady was handled in nu-lore.
>>96160569>son of gazul, and brother of skavorI like this too.
>>96170718>>Skavor presumably does the same and becomes the Horned Ratthe same article that confirms hashut as a former mortal (a dwarf ancestor), also confirms the rat as an elemental god (so, not a former mortal)
if skavor is involved with the rat, he did not become the big rat that makes all of the rules
>>96170750>the rat as an elemental god (so, not a former mortal)...what? The fuck is AoS team smoking? I was about to give them kudos for once.
>>96170779There's a more interesting story to tell about it not being an ascended mortal, I say.
>someone artificially created a god out of scrap and then it spiralled out of control or it's still doing exactly what it was meant to do
>>96160561You know your setting is bad when it shares the concept of divinity with Mormonism.
>>96170969So, do you think sigmar was born a god, or are you a filthy unbeliever?
>>96167879I fucking hate nu-GW with a passion you would not believe
>>96171011Sigmar isnโt a god. Sigmarite divinity is heresy. Ulric and Middenheim not sigmar and Altdorf.
>>96171142>Sigmar isnโt a godYeah sure, and miracles are delivered by demons, dogfucker.
>>96167087Sorry we only worship a bull we arenโt one. Batch painting some more chorfs atm
>>96171160Ummm remind me again who your โgodโ worshiped. Oh right, your god worshipped Ulric.
Post paid for by Turning Point Middenheim
Goddamn my deployment SUCKS! Also due to my stubborness in not conceding earlier with just my general and marauders left, my general finally died, ran down by the gobbos and a squig boss.
Oh well, was fun and Khorne made his disfavour clear. Snake eyes turn 1 for Gaze of the Gods, general was stupid. Rolled 1 again, LD7.
At least Korgoth killed a Gobbo boss on squig in a duel. Very fun but desperately need to deplly my knights better. Ended up bottlenecking myself again!
That said, Ragnar and the Marauders absolutely KILLED IT!
Butchered two 20+ units of gobbos and squig hoppers. Also the only survivors.
>>96171231looks comfy, anon.
everyone knows that dude who got into 40k because dawn of war
but do you know anyone who got into fantasy because of total war
>>96171254Ah it was, thanks anon. My opponent was, to say the least, a gentleman. Really friendly, didn't even bring fanatics and was very relaxed and pleasant. Legit the only thing which stang was
1. My abysmal deployment with the chosen knights
2. My general dying first time
Was tempted to call it early to save him but felt that it was better to see it till the end of turn 6.
Least my OCD of not letting him die has passed, may use him now as an AC in my 500 points event Sunday.
>>96171292well sometimes you get shafted by the fickle gods, next one will be better I'm sure
>>96171231Khorne smiles on your general. Cool batrep yeah always sucks when you fuck up before turn one and have to live with it lol.
>>96171298Aye, Korgoth will do better in his next battle! So will I too, even said "I should put my knights on the right flank," but dropped the ball and dumped them behind my hounds. That's my only critique. Ah well. GLORY TO KHORNE.
>>96171310>Khorne smiles on your generalOver his corpse this day, hah! But sure, he will be tested even more in future games I'm sure.
>>96171329He cares not from where the blood flows
>Wanting to paint the weapons on my beastlord in a different metal (grey knight steel) to make him stand out a bit more from the others
>Started to write lore about he acquired the weapons/metals for those blades and how they were fashioned into axes.
Am I doing too much?
I can post the little fluff I've written about it here if anyone is curious?
>>96171626>Am I doing too much?nah, but it would be better if they look truly different compared to the rest of your dudes' metallics then
>>96171660My other dudes are just gonna have leadbelcher or iron warrior with reikland and a bright metal highlight.
>>96171667Might as well share his entire small lore blurb I've written for him. My dudes are still an ongoing narrative so this might be expanded upon as I do more (narrative) games.
>>96171694He sounds like a punk bitch that my bray shaman would have decapitated by his Bull Herd
>>96171231What's the big thing next to the hag?
Made some progress on the front half of dragon, not sure if I want glowing OSL eyes or just leave them white and creepy looking
>>96172123Shit looks amazing dude, good job. I'm personally not the type to enjoy glowing eyes, neon shit etc on miniatures. Especially not Fantasy ones. But you do you!
>>96172123Damn that's a good dragon
>>96172123what dragon is that? like creaturecaster or something?
>>96172123That looks amazing anon.
>>96172123creepy white is fine, but if you add pupils they read better as eyes, especially the ones in the raw flesh like that that could be also seen as boils or pieces of bone
>>96172123Kino.
I think slightly glowing soulless eyes would look best.
What kits did you use?
>>96172186>>96172150>>96172143thanks lads
>>96172180Its an archon studios dragon of schmargonrog, but I left the neck/head in two halves and resculpted the meat on each side. Theyre quite small compared to modern GW dragons but for the price they are nice little kits.
>>96172195Actually quite like that idea, give him some pinhole shin-gojira style eyeballs
>Glade riders' cavalry spears lets them fight in extra rank with supporting attack
>Cavalry spear's notes says they can't be used for supporting attacks the turn the unit charged
Doesn't this make them useless for a unit with more than one rank? What's the point then?
>>96172245For prolonged combats and for receiving charges.
>>96172251Why would I charge with glade riders into anything that will survive the first turn of combat? Dunno this rule seems silly to me
>>96172262>Why would I charge with glade riders into anythingnew apparently overpowered cathay cavarly is the same and nobody knows the answer
>>96172262It's for the +1 strength on charge, the real reason more than that is because glade riders have spears due to carryover from ancient editions and it's a rule for spears.
Simple as.
>>96172245You get +1 str and a point of ap when you charge.
>>96167643Are we sure that's not supposed to be a vain? Mold lines are usually on the side, and usually straight.
