Elves are other NEETS, Amish, or the Boomer that going to outlive everyone and holding on to their job not cause they need the job but cause they just so used to rat race and they're other on top and they don't want to get down. Or they are still climbing and don't see the point of stopping even if they don't need to work for 40 years due to their savings and all. Are we talking about actual mythological creatures in contemporary setting or a contemporary setting with mythological style creatures. Like, the elves and vampires are not actually mythological ones, but could be genetically engineered humans or infected by some lab virus.

There are some vampire stories where they've adapted to modern society, hiding in the shadows and utilizing technology and social systems to their advantage.

It's not exactly what you're asking for, in any scifi setting where genetic engineering is a thing the furfags will win. Gene splicing will happen and the baseline human genome will be outnumbered by furries within a couple generations.

There's a similar thing in Schlock Mercenary.
The Partnership Collective is the only law firm in the universe, with all lawyers being serpentfolk and a hivemind.
They play off the 'soulless lawyer' trope very hard and become the main antagonists very early on in the comic (justified, one of their lawyers was killed in a rogue plaz blast by one of the ship's mercs during a corporate buyout).
