Planned to run a game today, we did the session 0 a while ago...but I haven't done any prep whatsoever. I don't want to run it. But my friends expect me to...what the fuck do I do???

post on 4chan about how you're not ready instead of actually throwing a tavern/starting point together and a small quest to get their characters associated with each other.

Tell your friends the game is cancelled and never bother them again, you waste of oxygen.

Kill yourself so you don't have to run the game and nobody will get mad at you for it

I haven't learned how to put that stuff together on foundry yet. I have 2 hours.

I also do not know the rules. I know the basics, but not everything yet

You came to 4chan for that?
You planned a game you don't understand, with no prep, and expect 4chan to save you?
Go cry to Deepseek or ChatGPT, you have better chances there.

DELAY IT. Find inspiration. Spend the next week hyping yourself up about the game. Then run it. Or cancel it. Or tell your friends to run the game. IDGAF

What system?

If it's a mainstream one, there are almost certainly a plethora of published adventures suitable for a 1-3 sessions.

>>96184620
Oh, you're fucked you lazy jackass. In your situation, I would suggest grabbing the free copy of Worlds Without Number and using its adventure generation table where you just throw all your dice and consult the chart.
Anonymous No.96184651 [Report]
Run a nice little intro for the PCs and then throw them for a loop with a chaotic events that forces them to ignore the fact that you are a lazy shit, you lazy shit

Anonymous No.96184686 [Report]
Op isn't running a game and I doubt he's even ever cracked open a ttrpg book in his life. He's just a shitposting /v/tard seeking attention on /tg/ because his posts get ignored on /v/.

Quickly sketch a dungeon and a media-res intro. I feel you, because that's how I feel every game day. Write a short intro of about 150 words explaining where they are, why they're together, and what their objective is "you were summoned by the Quest Giver to rescue the Plothook from the Bad Guy. As you approach the Scary Place a buncha Thematic Stuff can be seen. When you get closer, suddenly Ambushing Enemies errupt from Interesting Terrain and you find yourself Rolling Initiative."

Do a simple ass dungeon and prepare a blurb about what happens when the succeed and get back to the quest giver. Throw in two interesting, weird magic items and voila: your players will occupy themselves for the next 6 hours, no problem.

Unironically what system?
Second, if you don't want to but your friends do, be a fucking man and just admit you aren't interested

Fucking copy paste a tavern map from a map thread in the archives, pick some pictures from your image folder that would work as npc and enemy tokens then throw together something about bandits or orcs or whatever attacking the tavern then pick some cave or graveyard or whatver map from a map thread and paste that with a group of enemies and a scarier looking one for them to fight. Make up some bullshit to buy you an extra hour if you really need it. Afterwards if you still don't want to run it just make up some shit about your work getting more intensive so you can't run another or something like that, if they're in any way reasonable they'll be disappointed but they'll understand.

Everyone stop posting in this thread, its bait/begging thread. This is a no games loser and should be treated as such, there wasnt a 'session 0' ( a dumb term anyway) and he has never run a game before anyway. You are scum.

Fucking talk to them, dipshit. If you're not going to communicate when you are doing a social activity while gaming, then you are approaching the whole thing wrong. There are two priorities you have as someone who is supposed to be running a game:
>Communication, which you should always be doing anyway
>Setting expectations and trying to follow through on them
If you're going to break expectations, you have to talk to them about it.

Stop being a faggot and run the game you agreed to run. Play it fast and loose with your games version of a bar brawl breaking out as the first adventure. Let shit figure out from there.

Do it anyways. Clear your mind of all sense of responsibility or duty towards the activity. It is something you are doing because you want to do it. Your autism is making you see your hobby as an undesirable chore, so change your fucking mind and accept the task before you as the thing it really is: A fun hobby you are doing with friends.

As everyone else has said, you're not writing a book. You're not even writing a comic. You're moderating four friends shooting the shit against things you throw against them. Players can sense the mood of the adventure, and if you are clearly firing from the hip then they'll switch their expectations accordingly.

Assuming this isn't some fake bullshit from a cunt. You have two options
>1. Be honest, tell your friends you don't want to do it. Play video games or something instead. If you don't feel like running it now at session 1 you won't get far into a campaign before DM fatigue burns you out.
>2. Get a very short premade module to read through. Run a short 1st or whatever level dungeon from the book. Personally I recommend Bandit's Nest by Dan Coleman but there are free ones out there too like this one that are especially short https://www.dmsguild.com/product/194450/An-Introduction-to-DD--The-Wealthy-Merchant?affiliate_id=8220
