You remember incorrectly.
The Hero/Interlok combination is Fuzion, the base system for Bubblegum Crisis and Cyberpunk v3.
Interlok Unlimited draws some ideas from various Hero and Fuzion books converting them to Interlok, but is Interlok.

It depends on what you want. RED is the current edition, 2020 is what 2077 is based off of.
2020 has a lot of crunch to it (though it's not actually *that* much), gear porn, and supplements. Netrunning in it is a bit rough around the edges, but it's my preferred edition. I quite like it
RED is very streamlined, many role abilities do several things instead of "add it to X stat" like 2020, there's HP, netrunning is supposed to have been improved. Every month there's new "DLC" too, which can range from adding new game mechanics to a roller derby league or in-game MMO which nobody touches. I've never played RED so I can't give a real statement one way or the other, but reading the book it felt a little too streamlined for my tastes.

I've only played RED and it seemed somehow both super shallow and inflexible.
It was a one shot pick up game at a local bar though so my experience could be coloured by poor GMing.

Ah, yes. The game where the creator admitted he fucked up the combat by going deep into autism and analyzing FBI firefight results and weapon testing specs resulting in a convoluted piece of shit he regrets making.
