New warband looks mostly fine, pic related. Giving them "skirts", and capes on the characters really help their silhouettes.

If they ever do one of those community feedback things again everybody needs to write them and tell them to bring the fucking customization back.
The whole point of AoS borrowing 40k's open uncharted world is to allow space for hobbying, so why the fuck are they nerfing our creative scope for /our dudes/ by removing so much items, etc?
They're so afraid of writing broken stuff it's killing some of the things that gave us our best games, and inspired hobbying.
I've seen so many people kitbash their heroes to have specific items from malign sorcery for example.

As far as I'm hearing they're doing the same sterilization of that and other creative rules in 40k, and while that stuff is integral to ToW, maybe it actually survives the customization purge because it's a ""specialist game"".

Both can be true, they want to make sure the 'core games' are these strict 'balanced' games (aka soulless) so that new people don't get put off, then the Specialist Teams can do what they like. Our best hope is that someone does some cool Specialist Game for AoS bringing back some of the cool stuff we used to have like Warscroll Battalions and the like.

I feel if he was by nature a sort of beastmaster type he wouldn't mind so much, so I assumed he was a very "civilized" type god, yknow classic forges and industry and so forth. According to the new WD he is an ancestor god, and was apparently the "ascended god" in charge of Ghur, which he resents. (All though he was not in Sigmar's pantheon).
He apparently wants to become an "elemental" chaos god proper. That's something the WD says he covets.
"Ascended" being the term used for "former mortal, now a god", e.g. all the elven gods, Sigmar, Nagash, Grugni/Grimnir. And elemental being the term they use for gods "of the warp", e.g. the 5 chaos gods and Gorkamorka.

I'm confused on how this all ties back to whfb, are they retconning him out of minor chaos god status ? did he ascend back in those days or in the mortal realms. Why did the other ancestor gods think it was a good idea to put a chaos-associated god in charge of a realm. Some anons were speculating this all had something to do with the reason grungni and grimnir were trapped in chains during the age of myth. It's all a bit confusing but ig we'll have to wait until the battletome to clear things up.

That's another thing, I never bothered with the end times but if I understand things correctly grimgor became the incarnate of ghur the same way sigmar became it of azyr, alarielle of ghyran etc. So why does every other "winds of magic incarnate" god resurrect into AoS but him ?

because gork and mork are pretty much every incarnation of greenskins to be. To put it in perspective, it would be like if any of the chaos gods ( the big 4) went and popped up.
Also I guess that other goblin dude being forgotten about in the endtimes might have fucked things up, considering he was the herald of mork or whatever I dunno.

Yes and no. They're the right size, but the ko bodies sometimes gave ball joint slots, sometimes have flat joint slots, and so on, so you will probably need to trim the ball joint off the votann head, but otherwise it should fit. Probably not the dome visors though

Votann are human clones altered over time and the votann specifically bakes in diversity to reduce genetic vulnerability and flaws

The leagues also intermingle and trade with each other, so a leagues hold or even its warriors at any time may be filled with kyn from other leagues or even just other planets within the same league, as each league is a massive multi solar system empire in and of itself

If they ever refresh beasts (copium) I hope it won't just be "goats and mutations lol". Give me leonine beastmen, rhinos, elephants, fucking sharks or whathaveyou. Don't get me wrong the classic goats and minotaurs aren't bad but the faction had a lot of potential not really realised in the minis.

Grimgor did not become a god, just as Chamon's incarnates did not. The gods who represented him were alive, unlike the elven gods who were destroyed by Slaanesh, so their incarnates became gods.

I don't know man i think the actual Beast were cool just that they assumed was cheaper to send them to the grog gulag than update the range but Goats, Goataurs, Minotaurs and Chaos trolls were pretty rad, not that i don't like your ideas though.

Yes he is, people are just seeing that Hashut was given dominion over ghur when the ancestor gods divvied the realms up in the time before Sigmar, and deciding that means itโ€™s the exact same thing as alarielle awakening in Ghyran as a god of it.

>>96186542
People talk about that point a lot but itโ€™s crazy no one mentions the way they kept talking about how it was actually fitting in a way, because Hashut has this temper of a raging beast that will not be denied, and his followers trample the earth beneath their feet to shape it as they will. Itโ€™s a very thematic connection with Hashut as this untameable god who bows to no one and enforces his will by law of the jungle, and the irony is him being offended by being offered a very fitting thing.

A dead walker centric Death faction seems like the obvious place to go but GW doesn't always do what's obvious.
I wish some sort of werewolf kinda thing was available but they decided to awkwardly smash that into Vampires.
Honestly I would be fine if they left death alone, as far as new factions, and just fleshed out the OBR, FEC, and Nighthaunt

Tbh itโ€™s only awkward because theyโ€™ve squatted every vyrkos unit except the named characters and the undead wolves. Having it as one of the sub-flavors of vampire alongside the monster mash guys, knights, and normals is a cool idea, you just actually need to support them with units or customization options for generic stuff

I feel like deadwalkers alone (as a faction) don't really work as ghouls already occupy a very similar thematic design space, they need some other element to make them go in a a bit of different direction. Most obvious suggestion being the pirate theme so we can have !vampirecoast. That being said as much as I would like undead pirates I wish gw would just buckle down and flesg out existing armies for a while, we're back up to 24 armies and that's more than enough for the time being.
>>96187079
Thanks for that quick recap, I actually quite like the whole ironic tantrum quite fun. Very pseudo-mythological, which is something aos should do more of. I mean if you're going to have gods in your setting they should at least play the part.

There is a lot of mystery related to hashut if it is true that the guy was a dwarf god who was corrupted by chaos it would make a lot of sense especially if you look at Fantasy it is assumed that in fantasy he was some greater demon who used dwarves to become a god but why only dwarves why not other races that inhabited the dark lands why did he wait for the dwarves, My theory is that the guy was already a dwarf god in Fantasy however due to something still unknown he was completely transformed by the dwarves and sealed in the dark lands and in order not to disappear he would accept the powers of chaos becoming a demon and in AoS for unknown reasons he would be purified of the corruption of chaos and would become a dwarf god again but history would repeat itself and he would become chaos again.

Excuse me, but there is a mistake. I meant to say that it was forgotten by the dwarves and not transformed.
