Thoughts about using LEGO minifigures as miniatures?

>>96186560 (OP) Decent idea right, just have an existing parts collection or cheap parts base/place to get used cheap parts from. because God Lego gets somehow even more expensive than collecting minis does and that's just on the figures

Wouldn't that get expensive, especially if you need custom lego miniatures for PCs.

I have a collection of those in the OP picture, disassembled all twelve and invited my players to mix, match and make their characters. Then I built their goblin sidekick.

The Mind Flayer was completely unused, so I used that and the Intellect Devourer for an encounter. The last pieces I allowed myself to be inspired by, to make a new encounter with five minifigures I could build with the remaining pieces.

...Damn, now I really want a Lego D&D videogame similar to the Lego Marvel Superheros/Avengers trilogy that lets me play as all the different monsters in bestiary.

Flying around a Lego version of the Forgotten Realms as a giant Dragon or Beholder and lowing stuff up into Lego bricks sounds like it'd be fun as hell. But I know it'll never happen because Hasbro is filled with dumbasses.
