but I do think that GW internally has more fans of WHFB than AoS.
Not even an article reciting 10-year history of AoS let alone a commemorative model. Seems like every article talking about what the staff is working on as far as painting and games, there's rarely a mention of AoS.
Creatively a younger member of the team that wrote many AoS 3e tomes and Warcry left GW, as well as some key people retiring at the beginning of 3e. The 4e rules are shit and not really promoting a wargame, focusing on onboarding new players more than retaining old ones.
My best guess is aos will continue targeting "mainstream" audiences through Spearhead and simplified rules while TOW exists as the actual fantasy wargame or for people craving a deeper hobby experience.
