It's not bad, but the default helmet really clashes with the decorative greco-roman muscle armor. If you're gonna get fancy with it you can't hold back. Tacky gold-plated Roman sculpture or nothing.

The Old Death Company kit came with several weapons such as inferno pistols, plasma pistols, power fists, thunder hammers etc. Not to mention all the blood angels accessories you could put on them.

My guess is that senior designers can pick what they want to work on while trainees and junior designers get whatever leftover. I’ve read that the lead of the GW miniature design team is a huge Space Wolves fan so the SW refresh was fantastic. On the other hand, the BA refresh was probably “assigned” to some trainee for them to get experience. The difference in quality between two refreshes is fucking drastic that it’s embarrassing.

Chapters shouldn't receive entire model ranges. At best, it should be 1 chapter-specific unit, plus maybe 1 character option and a modification kit (for making generic marine models look like specific chapters). No books.
