Bing definitely has its uses. The Dall-E 3 model seems to have been tuned to add a lot more spontaneous detail than other models, particularly to the backgrounds.

GPT/Sora is way more obedient in terms of following the prompt exactly as written and rendering characters without anatomical defects or other hallucinations, but it seems to have come at the cost of really resisting any effort to populate the background with cool stuff. I wonder if it's just a basic technological limitation with AI that giving it enough freedom to add unprompted details inevitably leads to hallucinations, or if they'll eventually be able to combine the "soulful" qualities of Dall-E with the accuracy of Sora.

I decided to go with the paranoia images rather than the sexy elves, but will drop if I find some in my folders.

Oh, that explains it. I quit Gemini when they've started shitting the results, never to return.
Currently I'm more of a CivitAI guy. There are ways to get good mirror results there, but you must be very precise and Civit has the fucking buzz currency, so fucking figure how it goes when you need to refine the exact prompt, even when using a pre-trained model.
It wins with consistency, however. Not even off-line gens are this fast to train specific model. Had the entire party of five trained into highly consistent models over a single weekend, and that despite throwing in images that were of wildly different styles..

Not particularly no, certain checkpoints/loras will bring with them a certain amount of detail/polish/whatever you want to call it. If anything with a lot of modern models it requires more tagging to get flat anime colors. It's good to have a range of models to suit different circumstances.

You can add all the quality tags if you like (masterpiece, best quality, amazing quality, very aesthetic, high resolution, ultra-detailed, absurdres, newest, etc), but I wonder if it's a placebo these days. Need to do some side by side experimenting.
