the funny thing to me is that every time the Emperor destroys a harmless but evolving xenos civilization during the Great Crusade, it means he looked into their future and saw that a few thousands years later they'd destroy the Imperium. Humanity is spawncamping every threat that could challenge it because it's weak and easily surpassed by xenos. Just look at the Tau, who in the span of merely 1,000 years went from being primitive tribals to having an empire of nearly 1,000 worlds now after the 5th Sphere Expansion, and the Imperium just can't stop them because it tried and failed already
