Now that the line is dead without any hopes of returning (for the 6th time) what does everyone think of it?

I personally still love them. I played the actual game (the very first one) as a kid and have fond memories. I still own some and even bought some of the most recent ones to keep on my desk as fidget toys. Something about seeing it open up tickles my brain the right way. My favourite designs are still Gen 1. They're simple, iconic and recognisable. With all the companies and toylines doing nostalgia reboots I wish Bakugan got one like that as well, but from what I understand those designs are stuck in copyright limbo because of Sega. The later reboots tried way too many different things that didn't fit, I'm not a fan of the more complicated designs.

It's only been 5 days so there's no real news to update - save that Mattel clarified they will be releasing the DC/Spin Master compatible toys in mid/late 2026 and their "adult collectibles" figures starting in 2027.

So yes, we are stuck with re-use, poor/missing/minimal/no paint, side eyes, no accessories, etc., for another 14 or so months.

I dont know what it is, but toy collecting kind of sucks now. I find myself ordering stuff and then not really having time to enjoy what I buy.

Imo there are a lot of factors.

1. Prices are just higher, msrp wise.
2. Shipping is higher
3. Secondary market doubles or tripples price of anyyhing if you miss the boat.
4. Toys you no longer want sell slow and ebay / sales taxes / shipping eat up a lot
5. Companies double and triple dip now. Hasbro is the worst offender but Neca, super7, all do it. Like take bumblebee for example. How many variations did they release before releasing a normal yellow bumblebee? Three? Four? And even now they are about to release a 3rd or 4th seeker mold.

6. Everyone is working more hours in this shit economy. Fewer hours at home to enjoy stuff.

7. All the older people in the family need constant help and attention. Every fucking weekend it would seem.
8. Too much stuff and its all expensive. There are what at least 4 companies doing offical tmnt stuff now? And Neca alone is doing cartoon, Archie comic, orginal comic and movie? And the main turtles in two scales? And its all $36 or more a pop?

I don't know. It would be nice to just chill and enjoy things. The hobby doesnt feel as fun as 2015.

Is there a common toy scale more pointless than 1/10? Compared to 1/12, which has been around as a miniature scale since before mass-produced toys were even a thing, it's just different enough to not really fit alongside but not different enough to actually justify its own existence like 1/18 or 1/6. Genuinely seems like someone started making figures in that scale just to be different and somehow it stuck around. It's not so bad with toys of characters who are already huge anyway (McFarlane's Space Marines fit better with 1/12 than the humans in the rest of the McFarlane 40K line, who are big even by 1/10 standards) but with "regular" humans it gets kinda annoying. Just seems like a completely redundant scale that exists for the sake of existing.

Tifa with a new hat edition!

My conspiracy theory is that someone from SE(or someone is reporting to them) is browsing /toy/ and always proves me wrong lol, really thought the line ends with Bring Arts Cloud Hardedge version but here we are, Tifa now gets the "new hat" treatment, would have been a no brainer preorder for me if it was the Premium Heart instead, now I will contemplate if I can fit it into budge just for the new face(they probs added it to hook in fans of hers as just a new weapons isn't going to cut it), I wonder if any other character with also get this "new hat" treatment, my guess is Aerith. The last robot damashii thread has died a couple days ago and no new one has been made. MRD Lupus Rex is getting a retail re-release (april 2026), pre orders sold out insanely fast. I'm assuming it has better tolerances than its first run. MRD Marchosias was teased too.

HELPFUL TIPS:
-Invest in a rotary tool such as a dremel for sanding/sculpting, especially a flexible extension tip.
-Pin vises for drilling holes can be found at hobby stores like Hobby Lobby and are great for making peg holes.
-For soft, flexible parts get Sugru silicone putty and Oyumaru
-Hardware epoxy putties such as Waterweld, KwikWood, and PlasticWeld are similar to milliput, greenstuff, and apoxie, can be cheaper some times, and can be found at local hardware stores such as Lowes, Ace, and Home Depot.
-Bootleg figures make great custom-fodder, especially if the legit figures are pricey.
-Body-chan/kun, Figma Archetype He/She, and Sozai-chan/kun are great base bodies for import-style human characters.

-For 3D models to use for editing, the following sites are good to bookmark:
