Oops, forgot to link to the previous, my bad.
>>11415775
Just got my JoyToy Krang, Slash and Tokka in today. Krang is real sturdy - here here it is with NECA toon Krangdroid
>>11430066Those JoyToy figures are great, itโs crazy how theyโre able to pack so much detail into something half the size.
Looks like NECA is teasing something summer relatedโฆ
Iโm guessing either a new party wagon or maybe all the turtles in Hawaiian shirts or something
>>11430066This has become my favorite Tmnt line now, they feel like fresh takes on the characters while still homaging the original vintage designs. I was all in on the S7 line but these have replaced them for me.
>>11430066The Joytoy face looks too real, it's a little uncanny in a funny way.
>>11430082Van reissue with surfboard accessories?
>>11430111Yeah, same here. And while I prefer the larger scale, NECA and Super7 werenโt doing anything to evolve their figures. JoyToy came in with some of the best sculpts and paints in the game. Theyโve easily become the favorite figures in my collection.
>>11430098Is he... Is he wearing crocs?
>>11430066Whatโs going on here? Itโs going from muscled leg with shading to just smooth bare leg. Looks unfinished.
>>11430121Probably the lighting.
Krang comes with a complete base as opposed to the 1/4 base all the others were packaged with.
>>11430023 (OP)hm they dont look that bad.. but the head shapes still seem off
>>11430120>Always has been
>>11430153Thats cool, wouldโve been nice if they got rid of the seams on it though
>>11430082They said they were going to give people another chance at the van, so that makes sense. Probably a new round of preorders.
>>11430023 (OP)Oops sorry, forgot the biggest chunk of news, my bad!

>>11430155They're pretty terrible in hand. The plastic has a lot of marring and Super7 did the most retarded thing possible and used that SUPER squishy rubber on them. The kind that rots and cracks and splits withi a year.
Even in their final moments Super7 can't do things right.
>>11430183How did you forget thatโฆ?
>>11430121One more reason why mid-thigh swivels are ass.
Everyone needs to do like super7 does. make the thigh a sleeve that fits around a shaft, so it can rotate, but the top of the thigh looks more naturally like the thigh muscles instead of just cutting off.
>>11430190is that kinda rubber cheaper?
>>11430199>Everyone needs to do like super7 doesPlease god no.
>>11430201It's OK to copy the thigh tech if you don't use their wacky waving inflatable hips
>>11430023 (OP)I hope we get cheaper retail 2003 remasters. at least for the sake of comparison, up to the point where maybe we realize Super7 is best
>>11430205Huh? Super7 is cooked. They won't be doing more TMNT. Or much of anything.
>>11430208That has yet to be determined.
>>11430210The writing is on the wall. And floor, and ceiling.
>>11430203yeah the hips are NOT something people should learn from s7. just the thigh swivel part.
though rat king's hips were a lot better at least.
>>11430221this is very true. but in fairness those walls came that way.
>>11430226huh. interesting take... the leg spikes (are there also arm spikes?) fit, the muzzle paint evokes the toon version, the narrow shoulders kinda bring the movie to mind.. really can't complain here. wish these were bigger.
>>11430221TMNT is their most successful line. So I highly doubt itโs done.
>>11430231Bro, you're sticking your fingers in your ears if you think TMNT is saving Super7. Super7 had to fire HALF THE COMPANY. And they got fucked paying tariffs to get the 2k3 figures in. TMNT is hurting Super7. Not helping.
Nice to see something different - the turtles got their pizza so why not beer and a drumstick for Tokka
>>11430241Super7 is dead as a doornail. You don't fire half the company, make some BS letter explaining "why" only to have tons of employees pop in to call your BS and move on fine and dandy.
>>11430190The bandanas are too short and the articulation gaps are amateur as hell too.
>>11430251blaming tariffs that haven't happened yet would be a start.
>>11430248that works! boy that is some froth..
so he has five fingers.. hmm
>>11430398>haven't happened yet??? are you living under a rock?
>>11430023 (OP)Are these gorillas or turtles lol.
>>11430403these things take ages to go into effect, and have already been revised multiple times. they have not been given any solid number yet, let alone received a tax bill.
>>11430434Lol, holy shit you really don't know anything at all...
>>11430434just because they've been revised multiple times doesn't mean they aren't in effect. the tariffs on china have been in full effect for weeks.
>>11430434Dude, be more of a shut in. You pay the tariffs when they hit the dock, no matter what they are. Finalized or not.
>>11430454uh huh
even if that were attempted, you can't possibly think it would work without massive, MASSIVE turmoil. people who operate boats are not gonna accept a new fine that wasn't there when they set out.
>>11430456Welcome to the present, dipshit.
>>11430456>you can't possibly think it would work without massive, MASSIVE turmoilholy shit dude have you not watched any news at all? There IS massive turmoil.
>>11430460Well that's kind of the point. we're in the present. Things, are in the future. Things that happen are not now, they're later. Especially policies and laws and junk.
these things are slowwww. the reason no president ever gets anything done is that by the time shit goes into effect, the next guy is in office, undoing it. This is actually healthy, sort of. except of course THIS guy is counting on that, and sabotaging the concept of tariffs to enact fully full-on EU globalism.
>>11430462if it's on the news, it's not real
>>11430464The tariffs are charged immediately. You thick fucking spaz. Companies are already suffering them.
>>11430195>>11430466You guys have any interesting posing suggestions, name the figure and if I have em, I'll try and do it.
>>11430484what a time to be blanking. I think about this stuff a lot, but when it's on the spot..
I assume you mainly have the neca toon ones? part of me is like ey what if rat king fought bugman.. but it's not as if bugman has an army of bugs or anything..
>>11430111I still can't get past the turtles having shit nailed into their shells though, especially Mikey with his stupid street sign and Raph with his stupid spiked plate.
>>11430488Decided to go with my sewer. I've actually got a pretty good collection, I just haven't gone after the Ronin series.
>>11430111>they feel like fresh takes on the charactersNo they don't
>>11430506you just don't like them because neca doesn't make them, we know
>>11430505oh damn theyre gettin him! very cool. not the highest quality photo but.. that almost works? like it's found footage.
>>11430498i feel like a lot of people do not understand that the shells are bones covered in essentially bone-plate-skin. it would not feel good to drive a nail into there, the way you could with, like, a cow's horns.
>>11430498Its dumb sure but its the type of thing I wouldn't have been surprised to see in the vintage line so I'm fine with it.
>>11430518It's a gamble with my camera, it's about 15+ years old. would try my cell but it likes to post it the wrong way when I do here. heres one of the other ones I took of em.
>>11430533still better than my 20 year old camera that I never even use anymore because it drains batteries like a motherfucker and rechargeables are a scam..
>>11430517You sound like a moron, you should work on that.
>>11430745i fucking love pistols with bayonets
a flintlock blunderbuss pistol with a fucking.. I forget what that kind of knife is called, as the bayonet? and a huge anchor on his back? I love this guy. Wait does he have those because he was the boss of the pirate ship in the arcade game?
Nerdzoic has these three in stock right now. I know they're on pre-order in some other places. If you missed out during Haulathon.
>>11430753how sad is it that this is like, the best april we've gotten and it doesn't even look like how she looked in the comics unless you squint. okay the jawline, hair, and mouth are about right.
>>11430756>and it doesn't even look like how she looked in the comicsYou apparently didn't read the comics, because it does look like how she looked in the comics. What a bonkers thing to say.
>>11430759well the jawline, hair, and mouth for sure
and her outfit, that's definitely how she dressed. very Elisa Maza. It's funny how the jumpsuit kinda eclipsed everything, and nobody thinks about 2k3 with her sk8r styles and hot belly shirt and her attempt at emo hair that is just a librarian bun
>>11430756Looks pretty accurate to me
>>11430766What's funny is that the jumpsuit is straight from the comics- and even the hair in the show is just based off this cover of the 2nd printing of issue 2. But Fred-Wolf tried to sue Eastman and Laird and among one of their claims was inventing April's jumpsuit look.
Peter Chung was the one who adapted the design to animation. Years later, David wise claimed he based her off Fujiko Mine in a one of the last Lupin III part 2 episodes, which while notable for being directed by Hayao Miyazaki, was probably him lying.
>>11430773yeah see. that exact mouth. those lips, that's dead on.
the jaw shape, perfect
the hair.. well, it's drawn more uniformly here, but I think that would look weird on a figure, so the more 'cloud-scalloped' shape of the figure is probably better.
>>11430784kek..
well I imagine both April and Fujiko were coming from a similar tradition of medium-length-hair women in jumpsuits. real fun times.
wow the turtles look weird here. but like, from the neck down, they look kind of perfect for this version of the turts.
>>11430787You keep making up stupid excuses for things.
>>11430241>Super7 had to fire HALF THE COMPANY. And they got fucked paying tariffs to get the 2k3 figures in.Brian didn't have to fire half the company. He chose to fire half the company so he can keep living the Frisco lifestyle.
As for the tariffs, Four Horsemen had their latest wave arrive and they absorbed the cost of the tariffs for the containers that did arrive, and had the factory hold the stock that didn't ship before the 145% tariffs were looming until things sorted themselves out, which many companies were doing.
The only thing hurting Super7 is Brian and his stupid decisions.
>>11430802They "absorbed" the cost but at great harm to themselves. The cost is still hurting companies and they couldn't possibly take on more which is why they HAD to leave the fucking containers there. There's no choice.
>>11430807>The cost is still hurting companies and they couldn't possibly take on moreNo, they are absorbing the cost for the next containers that are now on a boat too. They were just waiting for the tariffs to drop back down from the ridiculous 145% they were at to a more reasonable amount.

you know what's sad?
i'd absolutely buy a super7 foot soldier 4-pack in colors inspired by the videogames. maybe the red-orange one, white one, yellow one, and green one? and throw in some extra weapons. yknow, properly-sized weapons.
>>11430208I mean in the event Loyal Subjects, Neca, Playmates even will make posable 2003 Turtles
>>11430882yeah but the guy who replied to you was replying to your suggestion that it'll be good to have comparisons to super7
if, as he asserts, its goose is cooked, why would that be good? is, I think, what he's asserting. I could speculate, but
>>11430882Too bad NECA probably views the show as the animated equivalent to Mein Kampf to the point of switching to a show that''s not even that old and who's audience is mostly in their early teens.
>>11430952You really love just brewing up batshit things in your head, huh?
>>11430722You need to learn to be less angry about everything. Its not good for you. You're going to give yourself a heart attack one of these days trying to defend a corporation's honor.
>>11431246You need to learn to stop sucking so much cock all the time. You're going to dislocate your jaw and probably die of an STD being a lame shitposter like that.
>>11430952Buddy, 2012 was 13 years ago. The people who watched it are in their 20s and 30s now.
>>11431320Math is not a troll's strong suit.
>>11431275settle down necanon
>>11430872BST axn did this
>>11431356pics?
i assume that's the toon design anyway. i like the toy one.
Got the S7 2003 turtles today. Surprisingly no janky loose joints or messy paint apps. The finish on them isn't insanely shiny for once, but the plastic is annoyingly soft and scuffs up super easily in some spots because of it. Double joints have OK but unimpressive range, honestly probably think I prefer the single knees/elbows of their other figures if this is all we're gonna get extra. Detents could be better, they don't stand that well, reminds me of marvel legends where the ankles and knees lock into certain spots and are only stable there. Overall 7/10. S7's best effort definitely, but they're still lacking for the price and compared to other turtle toys on the market. Shame the company only managed to step their game up moments before their demise; I'll probably get shredder and splinter based on these, assuming they even release.
>>11431374those do look pretty good.
>>11431375huh. softer plastic that gets scuffed easily.. that's a weird choice. I'm glad to hear they're not janky and loose at least.
>>11431390I suspect the softer plastic was to give them the animated look without having the trouble of painting them. It works, but yeah, careful with their shoulders and hips; you can really mess them up just doing basic poses. Mine have a handful of scratches on the armpits already just from lowering the arms against their bodies.
>>11431390>those do look pretty good.Theyโre $60 on amazon and Walmart rn if you want them
>>11430190God damn, you weren't kidding. Just started opening my set up and woof. I don't think these figures will last a couple years given this rubber. Even the torsos are just a soft squishy rubber. I don't like that one bit.
>>11431375Is it true they're made from plastic that gets messed up in a year or two?
>>11431398what do you mean the animated look? I don't get how plastic texture would affect that. are you saying the finish is different? more matte so it's more like a cel?
>>11431431I dont have anything else that size but thank you
speaking of scale, Thundercats Willa is hanging out quite comfortably on my s7 turtles shelf now, and King Conan fits fine with the movie turtles (put him near the movie III guys, natch). maybe a few millimeters too short, but I can get him some foot stands
>>11431458yeahh the rubber plastrons are something s7 loves.. i guess it helps with thigh posing, but ehhhh there are issues.
>>11431461how would anyone know that?
all they could say for sure is that it feels like plastic from some other figures they have, which got messed up in a year or two. it's not as if Super7 puts out their specific plastic formulas, right?
Any new requests? The only figures at least for Neca I don't have are Ronin series and newest mirage haulathon figures.
>>11431478Its matte yeah, not sure why they didn't just do a matte spray on their old plastic? Would have done the same thing and been more durable.
>>11431461There's a bunch of soft plastic on them between the torso overlays and their belts. Its not rubber though as other people are saying, its soft pvc. It could go to shit in a couple years or it might not, really no clue. I've got storm collectibles that held up just fine that feel similar. But storm also knows what they are doing and this is S7, a company that rarely does. Your guess is as good as mine.
Shit, I am really liking the Wal-Mart Dracula Shredder. The Target one hits that cool red armor look, but this is...coool.
>>11431502huh i guess softer plastic would be more matte? Iunno. Either way, we sort of expect figures to have a mild plastic gloss to them, and particularly turtles it's like, who cares, that fits. hell they had some pretty sharp shading in some of the promo art making them look lightly shiny.
>>11431554definitely a badass color scheme. but the kimono on top of armor makes him look kinda fat. and neither of those helmets does it for me. I get what they were going for, but...
>>11431554That eye glow paint scheme kinda rocks.
>>11431554Should've given him a head about to bite someone.
>>11430456>people who operate boats are not gonna accept a new fine that wasn't there when they set out.the value charged is whatever rate it was when the boat departed. collection only happens at dock.
>>11431554Don't really care for the skin tone
>>11431681Well you got two other versions to pick from.
>>11431693I donโt really like any of the versions

>>11430753You know, I was reading through Book II the other day, and then I saw page 100. I think the intention was to pull off something similar to the cross hatching in the original B&W version, but it just made it look like she got a tan. I wouldn't be suprised if this page was one of many key inspirations for the look of the Mirage April V2 figure. Here's the source if anyone's curious.
https://archive.org/details/teenagemutantnin0000kevi
>>11431786yeah that's probably what they were going for. you can kinda see how they got there, but it's still not QUITE right.
curious though, you're saying this colored version actually removed some of the original linework? it had hatching before? I thought you usually kept the B+W version identical and colored over it.
>>11431819Most colored versions get rid of the DuoTone, yes.
>>11430066I'm pissed that we never got an Android-body Krang from Super 7.
>>11431834huh. I've never noticed this, if it's a common practice.
>>11431819>but it's still not QUITE right.Except that it is right.
>>11431844see? this guy thinks it matches. I can really see how this design process went.
>>11431837They made that low-POA version with the removable casings, was that one at least in-scale with Ultimates?
>>11431912very nope. it was, i wanna say, roughly the size of the original toy
i gotta say even if s7 had done like GANGBUSTERS business, there's no way krang's body would have been feasible.. it'd be too big for like any shelf.
I wonder how cheap the s7 party wagon will get, actually. I'm still not a huge fan of how rounded it is, and I never liked the guns, but I'm absolutely in love with its interior. I wish I could just buy the interior, and swap it into the china van I have.
Been opening up recent buys. Liking Super Turtle more than I thought I would. Gonna need a pack of Domeoids in general.
Love the wired cape. Always happy for wired capes.
>>11432271Drac Shredder is an amazing figure. Feels like an old McFarlane design from the 90s. Lots of great detail. Definitely going to use the second helmet design on the Target colors version I think.
The head is limited in movement because of the shoulderpads and length of the helmet sides. But eh, minor complaint.
>>11432273Blue Bellybomb pops. Not needed, but I like it. I almost want to pop him in with the toon figures. As if the cartoon gave him the wrong colors when adapting him.
Leatherhead ROCKS though! One of the best in the damn line. Beautiful sculpt, good articulation. He's even got double barbels in the hips to accomodate his uh, width.
>>11432273Should have been Van Helsing
>>11432281That would make literally no sense
>>11432287Right? People keep saying this but the lore from classic movie monsters isn't the primary determination for who becomes what. Shredder and Dracula both famously wear capes, it's a natural link. Splinter is an old man who is the enemy of Shredder, so he can be the shitty old man. The rest are probably just decided based on what feels cool.
>>11432292This is really playing up the Vlad the Impaler connections too, which you wouldn't be able to do with Splinter. Shredder gets to be a grisly murderous vampire. It's great.
>>11432287The turtles are the monsters, so it makes sense that you would switch roles for the villains as well.
>>11432292I think people are focused on the idea of Van Helsing as a general monster hunter, which is how pop culture tends to portray him. If we're focusing on Universal though, he was a vampire hunter just like in the book.
Also the Universal monsters aren't exactly a team and tend to fight when they do crossover, so it's not like having Shredder as a monster automatically means he's on the same side as the turtles.
>>11432304This. Also Dracula is typically portrayed as more dangerous or above other "monsters."
Also Dracula is one of the few Universal monsters portrayed as genuinely evil. The others are generally portrayed as misunderstood with varying degrees of underlying tragedy, and a lot of the conflict comes from their inability to fit in with normal society or having afflictions they have no control over.
>>11432277that is so something the cartoon would do, too.
>>11432277I really wish they wouldโve done Dr. Bellybomb instead
>>11433281seems like an obvious accessory pack
>>11432277>As if the cartoon gave him the wrong colors when adapting him. He'd be voiced by Bobcat Goldthwait
>>11433345fuckkk I can just hear that.
had he done any VO by that point? or would he have very much been a special guest

>>11430023 (OP)i just realized.. aren't their legs kind of short? it feels like they did the reverse of what they did to the playmates TMNT where those got taller, these look proportionately shorter now. de-legged. they were pretty tall and downright statuesque in the show for guys who barely break 5 feet. like maybe they're going more by the 2003 toys, or...
... well i'm looking up pictures and I guess this is right. or like, close enough.
>>11433722oh weird, in this promo art they actually have the shell bridges.
>>11430882Loyal subjects lost the license, mcfarlane will fill their niche
>>11434062is that the ... Mirage helmet?
>>11433722>>11433898promo art sleeks them up a bit, they were usually drawn more stocky.
The figures still look a bit too chunky in general though.
>>11434389yeahhh you know what the new figures did? it looks like they increased the torso and arm size, leaving the head and legs at another scale.
>>11434394pretty cool!! i can see some slight unevennesses now that you mention that, but it's a lot better than I could do.
>>11434469they don't have a hip cut anyway, the thigh is a sleeve, which you can see anyway so it's not hiding that. hmm very odd. wait, what's under the belt? maybe I misunderstood you.
but you're right, they do look too fat.
>>11434531i mean the joint at the waist above the hips to let them flex side to side. The overlay hides that.
>>11434553ohhh that. Yeah, hiding that is important I suppose. but all you would have to do is have the shell-bridges go down further. It's not as if they need to do any, like, spread-eagle poses with their thighs up to their armpits.
My 2003 turtles came this weekend and I have some thoughts. These are still Super7 figures so they're not worth $55 a piece. Just flat out, no how, no way, worth the asking price. The elbows and knees aren't as mechanical looking as I thought they would be based on the renders. Considering their other turtles can't even achieve a 90 degree bend, I suppose this is better. The added swivel this joint affords above and below the joint is more annoying than useful. Especially with the knees as I find myself constantly straightening them. It does help for lower poses, I will concede, though such poses aren't the most natural looking.
Paint is minimal, and it's not very clean. The bandanas on Mikey and Raph are a little sloppy. The belts are colored plastic and look as gummy as they feel. Leonardo's swords look about as cheap as they do in pictures. The blades are a very light gray with no paint. Donatello gets some goggles. They're useless. The shell cell also feels like a worthless accessory.
The worst thing about these figures is that they're just not fun to handle. The shoulders and hips are crazy tight. I guess Super7 heard us all complaining about their floppy hips and took it personal. The plastic in those joints is really hard, and the overly soft plastic surrounding them gets abused. I even knew this was a problem going in and still haven't been able to avoid it. The outer plastic is so soft that you're bound to have some cuts and little slivers hanging off in places before you even take it out of the absurdly tight bubble packaging. There isn't an ounce of smoothness to these joints so you have to really fight with them to achieve the desired pose. And if you actually get the figure into the pose you want, it's probably not going to be able to stand because these bulbous shells add a lot of weight to the rear of the figure.
>>11434661These are figures that plainly demonstrate that Super7's approach to quality control and testing is probably to look at it once and assume the factory is just going to get it all right after that. Or, they don't even go that far and just get packaged samples and say "Looks good!" This is all stuff that shouldn't be hard. We get figures all of the time that have functional hip and shoulder joints, but Super7, for whatever reason, makes them seem like freakin' miracles. These figures are not fun, they're overpriced, and they don't come with enough accessories. As far as Super7 products go, they're firmly in the middle or upper middle. I don't hate owning them as I wanted this era represented in my collection, but I also know they're not worth what I paid.
>>11434672I pretty much agree entirely, S7's QC is shit and these figures show that by attempting to fix some of their older problems they just created new ones and didn't bother even testing those out thoroughly.
A perfect example of this is on the hip sockets of the torso; notice how they look kind of melted in the front along the groin? I think they just realized there was no clearance to move the legs forward without destroying them so they scrambled to change the molds last minute. This is the type of thing that should have gotten caught before they even got to tooling at all.
I am glad these figures exist but by the same token I wouldn't be upset if S7 lost the license and literally anyone else was allowed to make 2003 turtles because I really can't think of a company that would do a worse job other than maybe playmates.
>>11434661>straightening theminteresting, the other Ultimates I found I needed to keep them knee-bent to have any choice of standing up
>gogglesoh yeah he did use those sometimes. most of what I remember him having was a duffel bag, where they kept the climbing spikes, because this show was trying not to have cartoon logic.. though they stopped bothering with tools pretty soon. and there's no way these figures would include softgoods like that. nobody really wants to pose turtles climbing, anyway
>shell cellIt is an important part of their whole deal.. we forget about that one, when we talk about the innovations that the 80s show did.. having communicators is important.
>overly soft plastic around the joints gets abusedcalled it. This is the main issue with soft plastic, when you try to bend a joint, the weaker link of the chain bends instead.
>cuts and sliversi don't suppose those are just dents that might rub out with a little turtle massage?
>>11434686in fairness, that's a perennial turtle problem. turtle limbs in real life have to pull weird shit to clear the shell and still bend, and the TMNT have usually cheated
I'll be interested to see a kinda mini Turtles Forever with the S7 toy turtles next to the 2k3 turtles.. I somehow doubt the height difference is the same
>2 days with no reply from Super7 about my missing bonus heads
I'm fucked, aren't I?
>>11434790in fairness, yesterday was a federal holiday.
if you don't get a reply tomorrow or VERY early the day after, yeahhhhhhh I think there might be nobody at the help.
>>11434793I dunno, they did send their first reply on Friday asking for pictures of what was in the box, I sent those within 20 minutes of getting the email so as of 5PM today that's 2.5 business days of no replies and I know first hand how some people try to weasel out of support tickets by trying to forget they exist.
>>11434802It's 100% possible
but it's also possible that somebody wanted to just go home on friday afternoon before a holiday, and maybe took today off. it's not as if you'd hand that off to a different support person, right? That's not how they do it.
I think you'd be well within the rights of reasonability to email again tomorrow afternoon
>>11430195Such an awesome background.
>>11434947that's a big agree from me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2aBO7_WNFc
This is the first positive review of them I've seen and even here he's talking about paint rub, stiff joints, and no hands to hold certain accessories
>>11435865I saw another similarly positive one (in fact this looks a lot like it) and yeah he said the same things. He also had a lot of solid gripes, though I'm surprised that articulation felt inadequate to him, it's so much better than before. Definitely did not like the shell cells, that guy. but he still liked them overall
I'm surprised to see they're the same size (or slightly smaller) as the Playmates-styled ones, given that these turtles are clearly meant to be taller, relative to human characters. something like 5'6" instead of 5'0"
Makes me wonder if their Shredder will be of a proper height to fit alongside the previous Ultimates.
>>11435871If they googled size charts this would be the first result though

you're right though, they're shorter than I remember. I mean, on one hand, good for them. on the other hand, the Turtles Forever '87 turtles were SO much shorter than them, that might have been a mistake.. they didn't go up to their april's navel

Looks like we're getting 4K versions of TMNT 1 and 2 from Arrow Video soon.

What's the consensus?
Personally, Neca's April long neck bothers me but she's cute. Joytoy's April is not as cute as Neca.
>>11438816long neck april is an attempt to recycle part of a figure that they goofed on, making the final result still goofy, and hoping it would just be eaten up by the panels of the jumpsuit. . the shoulder cowlings are just not acceptable. her face is very cute though.
I wonder what I would have done if I collected these... like once you realize the turtles are just too big for the other characters, where can you go?
>>11438816You can drill out the head so she is accurate to the good animation frames instead of the awful ones.
>>11438816She doesn't have a long neck you fucking retard
>>11438819There isn't a thing in this moronic post that makes sense.
>>11438875You don't need to drill anything. Retard.
>>11438875what do you mean drill it out? like so the head sits lower on the peg? because unless you could drill a perfect ball socket... that's not gonna be ideal. well I guess you could carve out the socket, then drill above it, and place it further UP in the head, but.. yeeeesh. all that to still have a huge distance between the neck and shoulders.
>>11438904>still have a huge distance between the neck and shouldersWhat the fuck is wrong with you? No you wouldn't. The more you talk the stupider you sound.
>>11438894>You don't need to drill anything. Retard. You do if you want the head to sit lower on the neck. Fuckwit.
>>11438904>what do you mean drill it out? like so the head sits lower on the pegYes.
>because unless you could drill a perfect ball socketThat's why they make spherical bits for dremels/rotary tools.
>>11438924It doesn't need to sit lower, fuckwit.
>>11438939It does if you want the neck to be shorter.
Dumb cunt.
>>11438998The neck doesn't need to be shorter cock mangler.
>>11438819>>11438875>>11438893Okay, but what about Joytoy version. Any opinions?
>>11438816Joytoy's april is great. I've never seen a more attractive looking female in this scale. They seem miles above every other 1/18 company.
>>11438924holy fuck, need.
but wait how the shit does that work? you couldn't make anything but a hemispherical hole. a proper ball socket needs a lip, and that's not possible to drill out unless you have a tip that can magically grow once pushed past there
>>11439019i like her short jacket, and general jaunty badass look. she could stand to be a bit softer, and her eyes more bright, but that is pretty good and I have to admit this line is trying
>>11439352indeed, but it's still 1/18 which..... well that makes it even more impressive, but it has drawbacks
>>11439019The Joytoy looks like shit and is a shit scale.
>>11438999It's not about need. It's about preferences. Some people might CHOOSE to shorten the neck because they don't want to live with Neca's ugly design. If you CHOOSE to live with the long neck, then you can CHOOSE to do nothing like you have with the mold growing on your walls that you CHOOSE to live with.
>>11439615Those people are wrong, and YOU are wrong in every way, and it's not an ugly design nutbag.

>>11439615still not gonna fix the shoulders though. i think that figure was just cooked from the start. making a satisfyingly sculpted jumpsuit-wearing april is a tough order. Her suit has such classic shoulder shapes, but what can you do about that with a figure, without ruining it? You want nice ball jointed shoulders, ideally with nothing above them so she can raise each arm up high, but... if you put that cover on top of them, it'll artificially raise the entire trapezius area / lower the arms. and unfortunately that's what they did. her neck is fine relative to the collar, and then the traps messed up, and the shoulders messed up, so her neck looks too long.
and they tried to make her taller but now she's too tall next to shredder and stuff.
>>11439631There's nothing wrong with the shoulders.
>>11439624It's a PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
Like how you prefer to be an argumentative sack of shit instead of a normal person that can just ignore a post that doesn't apply to him.
You are happy with April?
Fine. The advice about drilling out the head doesn't apply to you. Fuck off and go about your day.
The advice is for people who aren't happy with the neck. Which is their right.
>>11439643Your "personal preference" is wrong. It has nothing to do with preferences, it has everything to do with your shitposting about a figure constantly.
>>11439438tilting the drill bit lets you expanded the hole
the collar on v2 is pretty bad too. but the face sculpt is so much better than v1. the neck at least can be trimmed. the single frame they based it on had a long neck so its not technically wrong, another one of neca's poor reference image choices
>>11439663There's literally nothing wrong with the collar. You don't need to trim the neck either, that's absolutely ridiculous. They didn't base it on a single frame, either, fucking hell you're insane.
>>11439631The neck exacerbates the low shoulders. Shortening the neck creates less distance between the chin and the shoulders and makes that flaw less obvious.
>>11439647>Your "personal preference" is wrongNo, your personal preference is wrong. Mainly because you prefer to be an argumentative cunt instead of a functional human being.
>shitpostingIf you think telling people how to fix an issue that they personally have with a figure so they stop complaining about it is shitposting, you are actually mentally ill. You are literally throwing a tantrum because other anons don't like a figure you like, and you are crying because someone told them how to fix their main issue with it. You are so schizo that you can't even handle people having a different opinion to you.
>>11439631if the tits were accurate on the original release I would just put the zelu head on the old body. as it stands you can't quite get a truly great april out of the two duds
>>11439667No, your personal preference is wrong. Literally everything you've posted has been wrong. You're lying to people about shit they don't need to do.
>>11439721They aren't duds.
>>11439723I think you'd be surprised at just how many fans were disappointed with the neck length
>>11439740I think you'd be surprised at how stupid those "fans" are.
>Finally open my 03 ultimates
>Kinda love these guys
>Figure I'll try and give the show another chance
>It's still just incredibly mid
I don't get it, it's not cartoony enough to laugh at, it's not serious enough to get investment from, it's the ONLY show in this franchise I just do not vibe with.
>>11439750>Kinda love these guysHow? They're really not good figures. Nevermind the rubber choices.
>>11439723>shit they don't need to do.You are correct that they don't need to do it. They choose to do it. They choose to not have April with a long neck. They choose to modify their toys.
Do you understand the difference between NEED and CHOOSE or does your compulsive behavior result in the lines being blurred?
Do you NEED to act like an argumentative asshole, or do you CHOOSE to act like one?
>>11439752Enough about NECA figures though.
>>11439752They're satisfyingly large with their shells, poseability is notably improved over previous Ultimates, good heads, and they're just a solid general design. Also the spinning chuk effects on Mikey are fantastic.
>>11439653but you'd have to eyeball making it a perfect sphere, without even the ability to see what's going on in there.
and a ball socket that is not 100% perfect does not work. I have learned that the hard way trying to drill out sockets that weren't participating
>>11439750if 2k3 isn't serious enough for you, particularly the first like 4 seasons before execs got to it, I would love to know what is
>>11439765It's that kind of tone where it wants to take itself really seriously but it's held back by being a 4kids show so everything is just incredibly tame. Maybe the return of Shredder arc will change things but for now it's just not clicking.
>>11439753The April doesn't have a long neck to begin with. You're insane.

>>11439777Lucky 7 Trips of Truth
>>11439787I do own them, asshole. Theyโre a huge improvement over what weโre used to with super7. Itโs unfair for you to give them literally no credit and call them trash figures.
>>11439770I felt what you're describing, but only at Ninja Tribunal and onward. before that I thought it was fine. hm. I haven't watched it in like 12 years though.
>>11439780>Neither did the original postThe original post is the only thing that's made sense. If you've actually held these figures in your hands you'd know that. The joints are too tight, the rubber on the torso is too thin and will likely melt or tear very easily. The figures scrape themselves and there's been lots of reports of paint issues. They're poorly conceived figures. Super7 fucked up because Super7 doesn't care. And they're suffering that problem of theirs now.
>>11439800>tโs unfair for you to give them literally no credit and call them trash figures. They probably shouldn't have made trash figures then. But Super7 did what Super7 has been doing for years now. Shit out product without looking them over or thinking them through. Same bullshit, different version of the TMNT.
>>11439805>The joints are too tight, the rubber on the torso is too thin and will likely melt or tear very easily. The figures scrape themselves and there's been lots of reports of paint issues. I thought we were talking about super7 not NECA?
>>11439794He also got Satan's digits earlier, so beware the great deceiver. He is trying to gaslight anyone that doesn't like April's long neck and chooses to customise it.
>>11439812You're only proving you've never handled any of these figures before.
Anybody pick up other NECA figures to put into their turtles display as background characters? I think a lot of the more plain clothed characters would fit right into the movie turtles display.
>>11439805>The joints are too tightI only had issues with Mikey's right shoulder and hip being a little iffy, every other limb has been fine.
>the rubber on the torso is too thin and will likely melt or tear very easily. That one I'll have to wait and see, but it looks and feels nice while new.
>The figures scrape themselves and there's been lots of reports of paint issues. No issues with this, either. The worst I had was a little nick on Mikey's scalp which I shaved and sanded down a bit, it's in a spot that's not really a focus.
>Super7 fucked up because Super7 doesn't care. And they're suffering that problem of theirs now.Well that's just objective fact, nobody reports "their best year ever" internally then liquidates their staff a month later without having shit the entire bed.
>>11439818I only have Friday the 13th as my other NECA collection, I could probably put Casey Jones in there for a little laugh.
>>11439818Fuck off with this troll post bullshit
>>11439818>loser troll still spamming this same fake ass image because he's butthurt it got called out instantly You are so fucking pathetic. Jesus.

>>11439825>I only had issues with Mikey's right shoulder and hip being a little iffy, every other limb has been fine. Then you're lying.
>That one I'll have to wait and see, but it looks and feels nice while new.Nope, this kind of rubber was a terrible choice and doesn't last. You can literally see what'll happen by looking at any soft rubber that Toybiz used. It's the same material. It doesn't even hold the colors right, that's why it's so washed out looking.
>No issues with this, either. Then you're lying.

>>11439841I'm sorry you've had these issues, but it just hasn't been my experience. Please try to calm down, being this upset isn't healthy.

>>11439860What scuffs?
>>11439818Why are you asking? You didn't use a neca figure in your pic. You went out of your way to name the file with false information, since that is, again, not a neca figure. Which makes your intentions even more questionable. You don't even own the figures so, this is just a shitpost? That's really what you waste your sad little life on?
>>11439860Do you mean the one on Raph's shoulder? It doesn't really bother me, I can just clean it up. Not like I haven't had to on something in every wave.

>>11439866I wish I could remember the light settings I used to use to make that lightbox not so goddamn oversaturated but it's been over a year since I've used it, you can see the dust on the toys that got shook loose when I tried to clean it.
>>11439859Bro, literally everyone has had these issues. The toys are poorly designed and actively damage themselves.
>>11439860Yes, because other brands are completely immune to scuffing.
>>11439879Which there isn't any there. And they aren't scuffing themselves retard. The 2k3 turtles are cutting into the plastic of the arms.
>>11439876Well that's just bone-headed. I haven't tried to sniff their pits so I haven't seen under the arms, now I'm curious.
>>11439876What gets me is how poorly painted the figures are. They made the masks part of the sculpt so they look extra bad and sloppy.
What can I say? Theyโre fun figures.
>>11439891Except they aren't. The articulation is poorly designed and even for being better than normal Super7, they're cumbersome to pose. They are badly designed, badly functional toys. Which Super7 had issues with before just on their previous figures like Karai and Ninja April. But now there's more problems, er, articulation. So your troll image is meaningless slop.
>>11439891You have to like what I like, and you are not allowed to like what I don't like.
If you don't have the same issues that I have with figures, you are a liar. If you have issues with figures that I don't experience, you are also a liar. If your subjective opinions differ from mine, you are insane.
>>11439887They look cheap as fuck. Leo and Raph's weapons are a fucking joke. The body sculpts don't really look accurate and something just looks... off.. about them in general. The bandanas seem weirdly short.
I genuinely think these might be the worst-looking Turtles-related figures Super7 has made. I struggle to turn my nose up at almost anything Turtles related, and somehow I also genuinely have less than no interest in ever buying any of these, even at a 50% discount.
>I like them
>NO YOU DON'T
Aren't you glad you decided to invest your time here instead of somewhere else
>>11439895You can like them all you want, that doesnโt make them good figures though.
>>11439896Leo's swords being unpainted cheap gray/white is probably the biggest middle finger. $55...no.
>>11439818I got super7 King Conan, which is in more of a Neca style, and he looks great next to them
and I have Neca's Vincent Price coming. You KNOW that guy would have hung out with the Turtles.
>>11439859man they look really cool from this angle.. though the hip socket area seems to be way too roomy.
>>11439896aside from raph's sai looking like they're made of bone, what are the problems with the weapons?
>>11439905Don't respond to a troll post. He doesn't care, he's just shitposting.
>>11439902wouldn't the paint come off when they go in the sheaths?
or just when the plastic flexes, because if it doesn't flex a little, it'll break, like what came with my saki and yoshi
>>11439912>wouldn't the paint come off when they go in the sheaths?No...that's what they design the sheaths to fit the swords comfortably to not do. You know, if they actually looked at the product for inspection instead of just thumbs upping and moving ahead like they seem to do.
>>11439910Good job, you posted painted swords. You have failed at life.
>>11439916scabbards tend to look pretty overly thick if they're roomy at all.
i feel like you are supposed to just use silver plastic
>>11439919>i feel like you are supposed to just use silver plasticNot if you do it right. Playmates does it because they're cheap. Super7 did it because they're extremely cheap. They fucking painted the first Utimates weapons.
Why is Necanon the way he is? Why does Super7 having some good figures intimidate him this much?
>>11439921hey yeah, those are painted.. hm.
oh, no scabbards. just rubber loops in the belt. that's probably why.
>>11439859Looking at the turtles.. they have man-boobs. The show used cell-shading around the upper part of the plastron to give that 'heroic chest' appearance while still technically drawing the plastron as flat. But Super7 decided to try to give them superhero chests and no other superhero proportions and so...manboobs. It looks stupid and the more I see it, the more I can't NOT see it. I hate it.
>>11439891Pretty much my thoughts man. They are like 7/10 toys maybe but they are fun for what they are. Not worth getting angry about like a certain someone here. You don't have to like everything. Lord knows I don't like archie or last ronin at all but I'd never tell people not to buy them.
>>11439935>They are like 7/10 toys maybeThat's giving them too much credit.
>>11439937Dude, just give it a rest already.
>>11439942Dude, stop glazing half assed attempts at product.
>>11439935>Lord knows I don't like archie or last ronin at all but I'd never tell people not to buy them.Oh, are those $50-$60 figures that were sold to you as renders that don't live up to the hype? That continue to have the same issues Super7 has had throughout? Hmm...oh, no, that's a totally incompatible comparison then.
>>11439944>7/10>glazingFuck off.

>>11439924He can't handle opinions or beliefs that are different to his, and treats anyone that has differing opinions with derision.
Look at how he reacts to any discussion about customising April's neck. It's not good enough that anons can be given advice that will stop them from complaining about it. The entire concept of them not sharing his opinion makes him seethe to the same degree as a fundamentalist Muslim seeing a Charlie Hebdo cartoon.
>>11439950>given adviceYou mean fed a bunch of horseshit because you can't stop shitposting about a figure?
>>11439932the show also tended to make them more angular. pecs should ALWAYS be drawn angularly. and they had no trouble making their faces and limbs angular (soft angles, but still), so it seems odd not to do it here.
>>11439950have they really tried to redefine bigotry that way? classic libs.
>>11439935It's not like this is a piece of art they made for themselves and if anyone else happens to like it then that's great. It's a product. They made a mediocre product because anyone with any decision-making power in the company sucks at their job.
>>11439937>>11439945>>11439958Why do you always do this mass reply shit? Its fucking so bizarre man.
>>11439958that's just everyone at every company
many of them, no actual human has any power, they've built this bizarre machine of bureaucracy that is impossible to change or participate in beyond doing what the machine tells you
everyone's all scared by AI because the news told them to be, but 'the machine' has been around and growing since before the internet even. it's a machine that works just fine entirely via paper and ink.

>>11439961Try again home slice
>>11439957>have they really tried to redefine bigotry that way? classic libsNo, bigotry has always meant being intolerant of, or prejudiced against, beliefs and ideas that differ from your own.
Libs have tried to redefine it to being synonymous with racism etc because they are intolerant of any beliefs and ideas that differ from their own.
>>11439971that's called being human, you absolute homosapiens. in fact it sounds like you agree with me about that part.
bigotry PROPERLY means you hate things you've never encountered, based on your imaginary version of them, and hold things guilty for acts they didn't commit, based on superficial features. it stops being bigotry the moment that it's true.
>>11439969Bad shoop. I'll let you figure out where you fucked up.

are the 03 turtles good or not
i haven't bought anything from s7 and see their shit always bins so i'll pick them up even if they are bad
>>11441133Not worth full price, wait for a sale or something.
>>11441159That's usually a safe bet, hell Super 7 has had to sell extras of their later waves themselves because of cancelled preorders and STILL can't unload them.
aw man. I just realized I'll never get my 'costume don and mike' from super7. I was hoping for the super turtles.
SDCC exclusive Surf Ninja...Turtles!
>>11443241Maybe it's a What If... kinda thing. I don't remember the guys ever wearing hawaiin shirts. But they make this, then they better make April and Irma in swim suits.

>>11443238There something extra in this, that's a big box.
>>11443507The surfboards, they'll have fins so they need clearance both long and slightly wide
>>11443507>>11443526You can see in the image of the box that there are two boxes inside the sleeve, and I'm guessing the one with their portraits on the side actually contains the Turtles.
Would the surfboards actually need a box that is twice as thick as the box for the figures?
