I don't see the appeal. The body is small and you can barely show off or make clothing for it. The head is grotesque in it's features; the lips look like something straight out of a "snatched" nightmare botox advertisement, the eyes are not inset but are painted and rather small compared to the rest of the features. A lovechild between Mr. Potato head and a syringe.

The "Fresh Dolls" basic guy doll has MtM articulation and Ken neck peg compatible. It's available for $12 at just about every Walmart in America. Plus, I just saw it on clearance at may local wally world for $6 last weekend.

Yeah, I am not going to disagree with you on Barbie, the clothing Mattel puts out is garbage and I don't collect Barbie either. I used to buy some of the stuff for the clothing, but not anymore.

My criticism is more at MGA, who has managed to have some amazing lines and proceeds to throw everything into Bratz once again because the men in suits in the board room really like that line. Meanwhile they are ignoring the fact that RH was a sleeper hit and demand was going up even after COVID and they failed to capitalize on it.

MidgeAnon here, I finally got an alright price on one of the chase dolls on eBay. I was expecting to pay over $100 but found one for under $70 including shipping. I felt like such an asshole trying to find one at Target as a guy.

Honestly, it's worth the premium to stop wandering to the back of Targets. (This isn't my pic.) But I do kinda wish I found one in the wild. Did anyone else?

Picked up a Pinkie Cooper for a song second hand recently, no clothes though. Does anybody know what lines would fit her? I’m thinking the LOL OMG tops might fit and I could probably edit some Bratz or Barbie skirts and jeans.

When is Mattel going to stop with this Barbie "Brooklyn" shit? Has anyone informed them that DEI is not cool anymore? Why would anyone NOT buy the 80th anniversary "blonde" Barbie over the "brunette" one. (Yes, that's what they're calling them instead of white and black.) Retailers are forced to take dolls they know won't sell in the areas they have or be called racist. They are probably have to buy by the box of so many black dolls to get so many white dolls that they actually want.
That's one of the reasons dolls are more expensive for less quality now, retailers have to essentially work in the price of the dolls they know they can't sell but are forced to take.
They'd probably sell better if retailers could buy by area demographics and not risk getting called racist for it. But the areas that would get these dolls would probably just wait to loot them in the next riot anyway.

She's not just an AA color swap of white Barbie like other collector dolls of the past. This is 2021's Barbie "Brooklyn" Roberts, character clearly separate from the original 1959 Barbie that started it all. And if you were any kind of doll collector, you'd already know that.
