I think toys should only be packed with only one essential accessory. Example: If a character is expected to have a pair of guns, just pack in said guns and nothing more. They don't need a knife, a two-handed gun, a landmine or a walkie.

I suggest a separate pack for accessories. At this point in collecting, I'm stuck with extra accessories I never use, or rarely share among other toys

I expect/presume less accessories equals a lower price. I just want the character, and a signature accessory if not optional

That's a personal problem. You're suggesting toy companies give people less and charge them more for accessories, which would be a problem for everyone's wallets. Then again, I'm assuming you either don't buy your own toys or have someone to mooch off of for your other expenses - anyone who knows the value of a dollar would be against such stupidity.

Once you have tons of figures storing organizing & changing out accessories becomes a chore like fuck did spec op evas really need a gun holding hand for each individual gun & knife holding hands & spear holding hands at some point you start to miss old StarWars toys where it was just the guy & his weapon

>Even collectors want options.
I want options if they're actually good or fun. I know everyone's definition of that is different, but sometimes accessories are definitely used as an excuse to inflate the price of a toy, especially if they're exclusive to a certain edition.

I think a perfect example is Transformers Masterpiece. The line was at its best a decade ago when it was doing "less"โ€”more straightforward engineering, and sometimes only a single weapon or accessory in the box. But this was also back when most of them cost about 70 bucks before importing, and nobody really complained about it because it was great value for a well-made product. Then they got more complex and started throwing in tons of random accessories as homages to that one scene in that one episode, and suddenly they doubled in price, and QC went down the shitter.

So yes, sometimes I unironically do want fewer options. It's pretty much the same crap with buying real carsโ€”even base models these days are LOADED with automatic features, unreliable gadgets, and computerized bullshit, simply because it allows them to raise the price tag for all consumers. No thanks.

No. I'm suggesting they give less so that they charge the exact amount of said toy.

I completely agree, some companies like NECA and Mezco come with tons of shit, but you barely use most of it.

Why do you force that idea when giving less equates to charging less? I just want the character and whatever it comes with. I don't want to pay more for accessories I don't need in the first place.

Its weird that like a decade ago, Japanese imports were novel for coming with a ton of options while American figures having a bunch of accessories was rare. Now it feels flipped where Japanese figures might not even come with a lot of hands or accessories but the basics, where as American collectors figures will come with every little accessory from random episodes these days. Not so much Marvel Legends or mcfarlane, but NECA and above.
I don't need the random gizmo from a specific episode of a show that was drawn in a few seconds before putting it int he animation, or a one episode gag food or party hat. I get that people like it but generally it just ends up being bin fodder.

I'm sure you do. But the reality is that toy companies will release a figure with less accessories after demand for it, but the price will remain the same. This isn't a hypothetical, either. It's happened before.

They should come with accessories, but they should also come with a little baggy or container to store the extras in so they are kept together and organised, rather than just floating around.

I guess they expect collectors to keep the boxes nowadays.

But I do kind of hate when there's no storage option on the figure for all the accessories. Especially for things like transformers, where it shouldn't be hard to have a couple of 3mm or 5mm holes in both modes to easily slot in the accessories. Or soldier figures who have backpacks and holsters.

Also, I'm not a fan of multiple hands, why not just make the hands articulated? Toybiz got it right in 2002 when they made Spiderman toys that can do either open hands or the web shooting pose.
