He's a "modernized" version of an early 20th Century pulp era character essentially stripped of everything that actually made him interesting.

Why come Disney Tarzan is dead? I don't see him or any related characters anymore. KH1 and his TV series was like his last appearance

No super cute mascot to milk or merch to make, they want to ignore cool films like Tarzan. Unironically itโ€™s one of the few films that might be decent in live action.

>Because it's about a white man.
Nah, it just had none of the charm of the earlier Disney movies that did well which was a similar issue for movies like Hunchback. It isn't a bad movie by itself, but it was forgettable and less kid friendly than movies like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and even Pocahontas:
>'cute' mascots are barely there and the whoppi gorilla was abrasive at best
>Phil Collins being the 'face' of the soundtrack and 'theme' song was an odd choice because what fucking kid was listening to Phil Collins when that came out? (I suspect they were trying to capture that same Elton magic like they did with Lion King, but Phil is no Elton.)
>movie felt more like an adult focused drama than a more traditional 'musical' disney movie
>Young Tarzan should have been the focus of the movie as it is a more relatable 'tether' for children than adult Tarzan, but they decided to just make Adult Tarzan the focus
Late 90s/early 00s Disney movies were a hot mess of priorities/execution and both Tarzan and Hunchback are pretty prime examples of this.

TLDR, Tarzan isn't a bad animated movie, it is just a bad Disney animated movie.

Kek, just remembered the time my father brought home 4 black Oreo Barbieโ€™s and told my sisters they couldnโ€™t play with them because they were an investment.

The big problem with the Collins soundtrack is that it wants to be Disney music, but it's not a musical.
It's framed like a movie to appeal with boys since Tarzan does cool extreme sports skating! But boys found the musil and romance stuff gay and lame. It's a movie that's not sure what it wants to be.

90-00s were an odd time where marketers had everyone with "COLLECTABLES!!!"
My mom was victim to Barbie and got all of the Holiday Barbies, etc
I could've had a hobby/gaming room but it's full of guddam dolls...

In the words of that one random bullshit go Moon Knight fanpage, read Jose Philip Farmer's A Feast Unknown.
Then and only then will you find why Tarzan is the one man who can take on 100 gorillas.

I remember when my dad walked in on me repeating. I had to explain that I was trying to fix a virus on the computer.
