Im looking for comics made using action figures or just toys in general!

Im in the process of making my own comic using figures in my collection and want to try and see examples of people doing something similar.

Im aware of Twisted Toyfare theater and one or two other small projects I read years ago but am looking for any and all recommendations! Bonus points if its a long running one with an over-arching story

TTT did it best, but they had an actual writerโ€™s room to bounce ideas around and a huge selection of toys.

You could always head on down to the webcomic section of one of the toy forums out there.

anybody remember the name of the one from about 12+ years ago where Cobra & the Empire are fighting GIJoe and the Rebels trying to control Lego technology?

I always liked that one, but I forgot the name and can't find it.

I only ever had a few issues of Toy Fare, but I still remember the comics specifically because they were funny and creative.

My favorite was an issue where the Justice League was fighting Starro, who was literally just a giant star-shaped cake with a face, and they beat him by spraying him with water.

The same writer's room that would go on to create Robot Chicken. A cartoon YOU ALL HATE for some reason. Also that quality would decline after working on said cartoon

Yep. Seth Green did an issue with them, then hired away the best writers from Toyfare and the magazine started circling drain.

For the main magazine what was their falling out with Todd McFarlane? They were constantly fellating him at every opportunity and then suddenly one issue it was like he had never existed.

This seems close to the type of thing I was looking for, though sadly it seems like its barely accessible through WaybackMachine, and the original website is down.

Speaking of Twisted Toyfare Theatre, does anyone know where I can actually read it? They're long out of print and scans are hard to find, especially for later stories.

Todd basically had a bunch of high profile flops toy-wise in the early 00s (most notably overpaying for the rights to Little Nicky) and started to scale back on figures, hence Toy Biz stopped covering him that much.

There are some people who do a good job with action figures (SpiderMan in particular) and doing live action very mini shorts of famous comic scenes. You might try using AI simply to get some poses and backgrounds and to create, essentially, the breakdowns and paneling for your comic - but seeing what you can salvage and recreating it or making your own dioramas, and then photographing it. You'll need loads of toys for it to work really well, over multiple comics, though. The toy photography threads on here should also give you plenty of ideas.
