does anybody collect tech decks or other fingerboards? Never really see them discussed.
You're 25 years too late.
>>11443233 (OP)I bought a tech deck just because it was a chase piece but I don't collect them
I've got... man... has to be like almost 150 of those. And specifically, the sexy "Hook Ups" ones. Once they dropped that brand from their line, I GREATLY stopped buying them... somewhat.
I liked these "older" ones, where they were still ripping off anime, sliiightly starting to get into their own designs. Once they started producing images that were ugly, westernized attempts at high school lolis, it ran my boner straight into the earth.
>>11443233 (OP)Hell no. I collected the Deck Dudes, while i gave away the boards. I still have some dudes too somewhere
Urban, NYC type imagery is peaceful to me... of course, my memories of NYC are of the late 80s/mid 90s, before homosexuals were prancing around naked, riding bikes with their dicks hanging off the seat right in front of kid's faces and shit... and before the democrat illegal alien voter rush attempt.
Often when I see feline-theme boards, I'll pick them up out of OCD, zero thought involved.
>>11443557Oof. Don't get me started on the Dude line (not the later, teensy "Dudes" line). I easily have over 150 of them. It became an addiction a few months. Took me kliterally YEARS to get a packaged "Murry" (lol, Bill Murray) one, much less one that still had his microscopic ghost accessory.
::old pic of some Dude figures before i moved a few months ago::
Strange Hook-Ups set I got for cheap on eBay last month.
These are more modern Tech Deck boards... ...They have cool designs, sometimes... but gone is anything "sexy". So sad. Also, the modern boards are a BIT longer than the originals were, making it so they can't fit into the oval "concrete pool" cases like in the previous posts.
I have a few dozen (ugh) "Hot Wheels Skate Boards", but I only bought them for all the various different sneaker types in colors I like.
WHY? Because some 1/12 figures look funny with them (as well as tossing them on Origins He-Man figures lol.
>>11443549Hey, i had the third from left as a tshirt in high school. Back when anime was still called japanamation at blockbuster and 45 minute vhs tapes of shows were like $20 a pop.
Id totally get into collecting if hook ups were still featured.
Are these things in scale for six or seven inch figures?
>>11443679>japanamationThat takes me back.
>>11444521I think they scale in the neighborhood of 1:8. Still see them get used with Mezcos and the like.
>>11443544I liked browsing the CCS catalog for the Hook Ups designs.
>>11444529Yeah man, it was fun back then. I only knew that the cartoons were better than anything id ever seen before, except like batman, so it was always neat renting from that shelf. I want to say battle angel alita and iczer-1 were my first full exposure to anime.
As much as I love Tech Deck stuff, I've never felt quite gay enough to go all over surfaces with them trying to do tricks. Don't wanna' risk scuffing them up. lol.
Or look gay.

Two years ago I found one in Target that has a goomba from the Mario movie on it, it was from a 4pack.
>>11444983lol. I thought for sure that was a custom, but decks often have wacky, stolen concepts to their art lol. Case in point, a 7-11 Big Gulp:
Here's some funny ones. This one was sold at Walmart a few years back as an Easter display promotion. You can pretty clearly see what looks like a pot leaf on his shirt lol.
Here you have an oldskool cellphone...
...with an Ascii DICK and BALLS on it. Also sold at Walmart around the same time. X D
Eesh. Yet more Hook Ups uncovered in my many bins. DragonBall Z wannabe'.
One thing I DESPISE about Tech Deck and skate decks in general, is where adding the trucks cuts off the art underneath. It's like you're SUPPOSED to just have some nude boards on display.
Case in point, that poor maid in the back left, missing most of her head.
Also, I really started disliking Hook Ups when they started doing shit like in row 2... It was like, really dumb, western-looking, "Anyone can draw anime!" type High School mean girls, or big, baby-headed attempts at loli art. FAIL.

>>11447575Sean Cliver does the art like generic school girl, nurse, Alice. His stuff outside of Hook-Ups is pretty funny and edgy. There's a few Hook Ups decks that just traced Urushihara art. I don't think he's responsible for those. I wonder if those ever showed up on a Tech Deck
>>11443574>>11443580Beautiful collection, and a wonderful addiction too
>>11447670There's so much good HookUps stuff outside of Tech Deck. I think there was nude boards of Lum from Urusei Yatsuram and possibly nudes of Sailor Moon, Chun Li. There's one image I have saved of art stolen out of a foreign arcade game, by an artist in Japan whose name escapes me... used to draw a wolf mascot in gaming magazines there. I think I can't post nudity here, so dammit.
Ah, the game was "Ultra Balloon", and that wolf I mentioned is mimicked in the game too.
>>11449552Ah. Seems I had not only painstakingly made these gifs years ago, screenshot by screenshot, but also had used hacking to remove the foreground elements, again, painstakingly piecing what used to be SCREENS long into one image. Here's the "clean" arcade setting to the nude chick HookUps had ripped off for one of their regular boards.
Just got this off Amazon for pretty cheap. Will sell off excess, but wanted the big roaring face and Santa Cruz hand one, as well as the blue and purple wheels.
Notice how the holes for the trucks placement would RUIN the look of the board in the far upper right. It's cover Godzilla's face up.
Pfft... when posting that, it tilted the image so the board's in the bottom right now lol.
>>11443544These look awesome
im an artist and im interested in printing some stuff on such tiny skateboards...
Hmm...i feel like there is a buiseness model here somewhere
Anons anybody has this set?
how big is it?
i would love to have it and post my figures around like they hanging out at skateboard park.
>>11452470I'll try to find it later, but i bought a Hook-Ups like Tech deck from a guy on eBay that was a bit naughtier than what you'd see in a store. I messaged him, asking how he made such a PERFECT, production-looking board by pasting over a real Tech Deck... his answer was along the lines of, "I have a self-taught technique, I'm trying to raise a few kids on my own, making ends meet without a wife, so I kind of want to keep it to myself". ...I really respected that answer, and told him so. His work was GREAT, even able to superbly customize Hot Wheels graphics the same way. ... ...One reason I haven't thrown out HUNDREDS of beat, ugly-graphic Tech Deck boards is, I have a retarded dream to obtain the technique, then customize a SHIT-TON of boards for fun and profit. AH... I'll be damned... still have it in my eBay history. This wasn't even the naughtiest board he did... it was the only one left after I'd missed a better one lol.
>>11452558he might just have some sort of a printer that can print images on mugs and other items (pens, keychains, etc.) and these skateboards are also the right size for it.
>>11452558>>11453417>>11452470UV-printer.
2000-3000 dollars and you will be able to print tiddy waifu stuff on anything you want

>>11453441nta what sort of ventilation concerns does that thing have?
>>11460150One office I worked for had one for IDs. It's not harmful, but we also weren't constantly using it.
The google ai claims ozone is a byproduct and, while harmful over time, you can just use a small fan and open window to solve that problem
>>11452465It looks like Hookups' full sized boards have the same problem lol
Are they just for display only?
