Reminder this is a thread about toys. Don't fall for bait or feed the trolls.
I didn't even know Pulse shipped this out but he's pretty dang cool. Real easy to pose and the head has surprisingly good range too.
>>11443499Dang he looks kind of badass in that pose. Never really thought about doing action poses with him.
>>11443502I know he's a pacifist but it's hard not to want to put him in an action stance when he comes with that blaster.
>>11443455 (OP)THIS THREAD BELONGS TO THE BEDLAM RAIDERS
>>11443793Survivor is probably the most toyetic Star Wars media since the prequels and clone wars. I want every single thing from it.
>>11443793We'll see about that
>>11443802Me too Anon. There are so many figures they could make even just from the Bedlam Raiders alone. I'm glad we're at least getting Merrin now
>>11443793>>11443802Hasbro definitely needs to repack the purge trooper from Fallen Order since we are getting more Survivor figures now. Ideally they could either release multiple for the different weapon variants and a repaint for the commander or they could just add the stun batons and hammer to the existing staff trooper and make it a deluxe box. It would be even better to get an updated body using the new phase II clone armor mold as a base but I'm not going to get my hopes up for something like that.
>>11443810Turgle and Skoova were a pleasant surprise, I never thought that would happen. But I think that's as deep as they will go with the alien npcs. Caij Vanda would be sick though.
>>11443813I got the commander recently. Forgot how shitty the old clone body is. Also they made the hammer variant already in the Amazon exclusive 3 pack. So only the batons left now. If they ever do it, I'm afraid they will use the same old body to remain consistent. One on the new mold would be amazing though. I love the purge trooper design.
>>11443825I'm happy that we're getting Turgle, though I wish he had fully articulated limbs and was also available in TVC too. I'd love to see Caij Vanda too. Rayvis would also be sick. And some freaking creatures would be great considering they are common as enemies.
The Yuuzhang Vong were the worst things about Star Wars Legends
Prove me wrong
>>11444126Uncle Owen killing Maul with a blaster.
>>11444126I only read some wookieepedia pages about that era but I thought the idea was cool, I don't see what makes it le bad. Also is that real I didn't know there was a TVC Vong figure
If anyone is interested, TVC Blurrg and Mando two pack is under 30 dollars on Amazon right now. I picked one up at that price.
>>11444126If we're counting vidya, then TOR is the worst thing about Legends.
If not, then the Holiday Special is.
If we're only counting comics and books, then it's either The Courtship of Princess Leia or The Glove of Darth Vader.
OBJECTIVELY the best piece of content form the Legends era is this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lg_FoEy8T_A
>>11444157About 5 years too late.... I have SPOKEN!!!
>>11444147Card is a custom but they made a Comic 2 Pack with Kyle Katarn. There was also the leader made as a fan favorite back in the day.
I also read up on Wookiepedia about the long over arcing war and just found it to be too much.
It's like Klingon and Borg jumped to Star Wars and ruined the 'fun' of the Star Wars mythos. Invaders that were Force immune and their designs were too edgy even for 90-00s standards.
It strayed too far from the core of SW
>>11444135Han shooting Cloned Emperor with a blaster
>>11444171>TOR is the worst thing about LegendsBased. I never got into old republic either though the cinematic trailers were pretty kino
>>11444183>It is time to enter the child
>>11444157I got two when Amazon put them up for preorder at $24 by mistake. Definitely worth it.
>>11444183What comic series is that even from? Jeeze
>>11444285Damn, I wish I would of saw that error. I would of loved to picked it up for that price. I can't complain about 29.50, but 24 dollar's is even better.
>>11444287They corrected it pretty fast but luckily they have the pre-order price guarantee so they honored it. I was only going to get one originally, but figured might as well get another for Kuiil to ride if they're going for that cheap. Plus getting an extra Mando was good so I could upgrade the original with the Shoretrooper pauldron
>>11444157I just wish Mando had updated ankles.
>>11444126The overall escalatory wank was the real issue with the EU and Star Wars in general, with or without the Vong.
I'd like more EU stuff in TVC though.
>>11444298I would of bought two at that price as well. My only issue is I really don't collect TVC and only buy things on deep sale.
>>11444301How big of a deal is it that he doesn't have rocker ankles? I am pretty bad at posing TVC figures.
>>11444285>>11444298Amazon has done that a couple times with their preorders.
There was the R2-D2 TVC on new hope card for $9.99 at the time.
It was just a recard of the droid factory series R2 from years ago
>>11444286Dark Empire II or III
Luke goes Darkside and there's a cloned Emperor
Was alright for EU at the time
>>11444135>Uncle Owen killing Maul with a blaster. The comic somehow made that moment seem cooler than it had any right to be.
>>11444201The trailers are 10/10, the best part of the game. Blur do amazing work.
I still re-watch them every now and then.

>>11444286Empire's End, the final arc of Dark Empire and it ended with a fart. The artstyle change definitely didn't help.
>>11444171>LegendsKys. Using that term, what a faggot.
>>11444522I prefer using Legends to EU, since it feels more epic in scale. I dunno, maybe it's just because I'm a fantasy nerd.
I still call Disney shit "Disney shit", though.
Hello again. I did it again. This one is slightly different because it's from a model kit.
>>11444353It's so wild comparing that first cinematic that is clearly riffing on that Snyder 300 slow-mo, speed up, slow-mo, fight scene style which was popular at the time, to that last Betrayal trailer which is using the John Wick style long take thing.
>>11444323Ankle rockers are a pretty big deal for getting figures to be able to stand in dynamic positions. I honestly think ankle rockers were more significant for the line than the new hips. I like plenty of old figures that don't have either, though. Endor Capture Luke is still one of my favorites in the line.
>>11444135Itโs weird to me we still donโt have Uncle Owen in Black Series
>>11443455 (OP)I love that we've been getting better and better helmets for TVC Stormtroopers but will we ever go back to ball-joint hips???
>>11444435I'd love a Dark Empire 3-pack. I know it's not beloved like HTTE, but who cares. Nobody really cares about Joruus as a character after all and we got him in both scales.
>>11444660Darth Luke, Young Sheev, and who for the third?
>>11444604Honestly it's weirder that Hasbro went out of there way to make tooling for an updated old man Owen, only used it for an EU set that was a convention exclusive, and never sought to re-use the mold for a proper ANH Owen.
>>11444126>>11444304>Yuuzhang VongYes, they killed the EU for me. So retarded, dropping a moon or whatever on Chewbacca. However, the EU had a lot of wacky propositions and some of the stories were total ass:
>Courtship of Princess Leia>Darksaber>The New Rebellion>NJOSotE, Thrawn trilogy, and the early Rogue Squadron books were the most coherent imo. Also, the boba fett books were fun, and some of the earlier short story collections nailed the atmosphere. The older Del Rey books like the lando calrissian adventures and splinter of the mindโs eye were also charming.
>>11444335Empireโs End
I don't care how stupid the EU was, I liked it, cause at the very least it wasn't cemented on screen for the entire general public to see with hundreds of millions of dollars poured into it.
>>11444739You really give that much of a shit about Chewbacca? He's cool, but he doesn't do shit or have dialogue. Quit posturing.
>>11444741For me the EU started to get good at the end with Darh Bane trilogy and Sheev's book. I still need to read Shatterpoint but everybody told me it's great. Everything after Disney bought is awful, I heard the Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor book that happens between games is some horrendous erotic fanfic, they hired the worst tumblerinas to write their shit.
>>11444301Does he at least have T-hips?
>>11444725Well back then almost every figure got new tooling and they didn't really need to be conservative with budget and rely on reuse like they do now. Good old days when random background glup shittos on screen for 2 frames would get all new tooling no matter how much they kept pegwarming.
Got the evil 3 pack for 40 bucks. Excited about it
Looks like rumors are Dave Filoni and Carrie Beck will take over as a duo CEO once Kennedy is finally gone.
>>11444850>clone wars cameos forever and everStar Wars will never not be dead lol
>>11444752>I heard the Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor book that happens between games is some horrendous erotic fanfic, they hired the worst tumblerinas to write their shitIt is. And thankfully Survivor completely ignores it. Especially when it comes to Merrin. This is what worries me about the director leaving Respawn before the third game was finished.
>>11444749>You really give that much of a shit about Chewbacca?Yes. Heโs a beloved main character. Moreover, killing him in some backwater novel was such a safe, focus-group approved move itโs painful.
>ooh, letโs kill a main character, thatโll get people buying the books again!>but not a main main character like Luke or Han.>what about Chewie, heโs expendable and doesnโt sell as much merchโฆIt was like a preview of all the bad Disney decisions to come.
>>11444323The rocker ankles help a lot but you can get by without them. The good news is with this brown armor Mando, you can easily just swap out the lower legs with ones from the Mines of Mandalore or Imperial Base releases and have the rocker ankles. You don't even need to paint anything. Pic related, it was the first thing I did when I got the Blurrg set.
>>11444867>Especially when it comes to MerrinYeah I saw some quotes and discussions but life is too short for me to go after that book, like you I have my concernings about the third game, but let's hope everything goes well.
And by well I mean they kill everybody so Disney can't reanimate them in some horrendous live action/animated series.
>>11444335>>11444435Oh wow, I really had no idea. I only read the first Dark Empire comic and it was mostly for the art. That is a lame and wild conclusion.
>>11444587>>11444967Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind. I really just want him to sit on the Blurrg and look cool. Great pic btw!
Keep or resale for major profit?
>>11445207Return to Amazon,
hide from purchase history,
forget you ever bought it cause you already have the same figures in your house
>>11445207Huh? Is it selling for a lot or something?
>>11445224I actually don't own any of them.
>>11445225More than what I paid
>>11445207>major profitAssuming you're trolling given it's always on sale on Amazon because no one wants it.
>>11445226Grevious the White is pretty good.
I missed out on the OG Grevious so this is a reasonably priced fig.
Cheap set from Amazon is good enough
>>11445243Recently sold for around 80 so that's double. Good for me
>>11444126I actually don't mind the idea of the Vong. The EU at the time needed a shake up from the tired 'Imperial warlord of the week' plot and the Vong with their biotech and resistance to the Force could present the heroes with an out of context problem they'd have to work out on how to beat. Besides, Star Wars is space fantasy and what is more fantasy like than an invasion from Space Orcs (which the Vong essentially are) from beyond the galaxy?
The problem with the Vong was the execution. They leaned too hard on the edginess early on and that alienated people. They tried to backtrack on this later on by showing the other Vong castes but it was too late by that point and everyone just saw the Vong as edgy Klingons with biotech. Still, you have to give them props for at least trying something new with the Vong, especially when compared to the utter creative bankruptcy we get with Disney Wars.
>>11444183>It's Over... Unnh....
>>11443802My Cal: The slightly thicker stubble, windswept hair, vest in black, no jacket, starting trousers in black, cyan sabre.
I too want Caij, I even quite liked Cere in this one they toned the eyes back and I liked her markings. Rayvis is obviously pretty cool.
>>11445342To me the Vong being absent from the Force was a dealbreaker. I get that they wanted a way to make them a greater challenge but it's a fundamental misunderstanding of what the Force is. Even when they retcon explanation that they weren't truly absent but were just cut off from the Force doesn't work because that's not something you can really do, even if a Force user manages to sever their own connection to the Force all that means is that they're no longer sensitive to it, they're still a part of it and are still affected by it.
>>11445397Caij, Rayvis, Dagan with removable clear force arm, DT Sentry Droids, all of the bedlam raiders goons, all of the haxion brood goonsโฆ itโs such a toyetic game but most of its good shit wouldnโt sell with collectors due to not being background shittos from the OT or clone troopers
>>11445586I feel like the DT sentries might have a chance since they've been in other shows, man those would be so sick to have as figures. If it ever happens I hope it's specifically sourced to Survivor because I like the blue gray paint scheme and they have cool weapons.
But yeah I think every single npc design in that game has so much sovl. Actually I'd say that's not uncommon for video games but sadly they are never represented in toys as much as movies and shows are.
>>11445617I'm still waiting on TLJ crystal foxes and DJ droid from Andor S2!!!
>>11444699>SW Comic PacksThose were the days.
>>11444126I was a teenager when the NJO books were coming out, so I like them. Do they fit the classic Star Wars aesthetic? Absolutely not, but that was kind of the point. And, in an age where basically every new piece of Star Wars media is a regurgitation of the OT, I respect them as an attempt at doing something different with the franchise even if the execution was lacking. Also, they were cool in Legacy.
I got priced out from the hobby. Hopefully figure prices go back to the way they were one day but I doubt it :(
>>11445959Oh yeah, never happening. The line is bleeding customers that can keep up. Death becomes it.
>>11445541The Force is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together... except these Vong fucks. They're icky and the Force wants nothing to do with them.
>>11445962Why are they like this? They priced oput kids (Not like kids ever buy toys anymore past the age of five) and they are pricing out working class
>>11445959>>11445977Sounds like you're just right for Epic Series! ! !
>>11446040Okay but why does that Yoda sculpt look better than the one from the new 2-pack
>>11445959I'm ok with this honestly. Seems like the past few years, ever since covid really, we've had this influx of new, only barely interested collectors join the community, mainly younger, poorer collectors. These guys feel the need to complain about everything that isn't catered to their hyper specific wants, and then lose their mind at anything MSRP or higher. They're the kind that wait for Ollie's and other heavy discounts, and then feel like they should be the ones dictating how the toy industry should work. I'm sorry but if a difference of $3 is enough to get you to not buy something, you probably didn't want it anyway. These are luxury goods, and quite frankly, you shouldn't be participating in a hobby like toy collecting if you think $25-$30 figures are too expensive. Look into how expensive actual hobbies are compared to toy collecting. You'd be shocked.
>>11446049Sorry, this comment came to mind when you mentioned the poorer collectors.
I'm sure the barely interested collectors are the fringe ones that gravitate only when the franchise is relevant so they can get in on the hype. Once another Transformers or Marvel movie comes out, they jump on that train and complain that their wants aren't being met.
Star Wars has something for everyone though so you can get an Epic Series $7 fig or a $300 Hot Toys doll.
>>11446049I live in a europe wherwe our wages haven't increased at all. Meanwhile star wars figures prices have doubled here from when I was previously collecting in the early 2010s where the price for a single figure was around 7-8 pounds and are now 15 pounds a pop.
>>11446065>I'm sure the barely interested collectors are the fringe ones that gravitate only when the franchise is relevant so they can get in on the hype. You'd think that but you would be surprised at just how many people are spending hundreds of dollars on action figures of characters they barely even know.
>>11445268All of the Black Series Grievous use the same shitty flimsy, undersized body, genuinely none of them are worth owning. Either get the model kit or the upcoming SHF.
>>11446075>EropoorAren't you fags busy importing brown niggers?
Is there an easy way to kitbash and achieve this look? I'm specifically talking about escape from Death Star in ANH when Luke and Han are wearing Stormtrooper belt
>>11446126>get Luke and Han figures>get two Stormtroopers>disassemble/cut off whatever is needed to get belts onOr don't get the stormtroopers and find some 3D printed belts on Etsy or somewhere that you will have to paint.
Hwat do yโall think?
Got a Savage Opress because his body and armor looks great and plan on kitbashing it. What do u guys think? Does this helmet fit him? Planning to paint the middle section of the helmet black to give it Mando vibes.
Still looking for other heads to use with this fig tho but this is the only one that fits..
Ps. Tried on the heavy mando helmet and looks great but itโs too known
>>11446126A white zip tie and some styrene strips in differing thicknesses.
>>11446126The original Black Series Han came with a stormtrooper belt
>>11446340Things were better then
>>11446340Why is Black Series allergic to alternate hands and heads these days?
>>11446345The line was new and open to experiments back then. They had to entice new people and get old collectors to move away from the 3.75" scale. The irony of course is now TVC is the one that gets the swappable hands.
>>11446049Anon, do you really believe COVID collectors or newbies are the ones in this thread right now? Black Series figures have dipped in quality on a lot of different levels the past few years (taking away thighs swivel, paint apps, fewer accessories, figures that should be a normal release, being deluxe). Of course people are going to bitch. The value isn't there and people are cutting back. We are at the point where Hasbro is photo shopping out the pegs in older legs to hide them. People are rightfully furious. Seriously, the face printing tech has also gotten worse, how does that even happen? Oh, right.. budget cuts. So ya, stop acting like everyone is bitching in a vacuum .
>>11445586They did the Dagan with the arm in the two back didn't they?
>>11446621Yes, though it's not removable like the way he described.
>>11446626Ah right, thought you might have missed it sorry.
>>11446501>Hasbro is photo shopping out the pegs in older legs to hide themThis, I can't believe they stooped that low. It's a sign of how they think of us. Mindless consoomers.
>>11446390The early years were so weird for TBS. For some reason they decided to put out a tertiary character like Greedo before heavy hitters like Vader or Yoda, and to the surprise of nobody he pegwarmed hard because nobody wanted to spend $20 for a minor character in a line they weren't even sure was going to last long enough to fill out the main ANH cast.
>>11446837the best part of this is that once the line gained momentum and it was clear that it had legs people regretted not getting greedo so he started going for insane prices on the secondary market
>>11443455 (OP)Does anyone know what store this is showing up at? This is the last star wars toy i currently need atm
>>11447330Ollies. For all time.
>>11446049Cheaply pressed together plastic, Dyes, then a lick of paint in a chinese sweatshop really shouldn't be considered a luxury good
>>11446044>why does that Yoda sculpt look better than the one from the new 2-packI think it's because it's sculpted with an expression. I know why they do it, but always going for the neutral head ends up making a lot of the likenesses worse because they have less information to deal with. Pulling a face engages a lot more muscles and adds lines to the face, so the sculptors would have more to anchor the portrait.
Imagine an AOTC Anakin with this face. Hasbro should really start including a second head with Black Series so that they have two chances to get the faces right.
Also if they absolutely nail the sculpt then they should include that head with future versions. Then we wouldn't all need to be buying a second Yavin Luke to fix the new farmboy Luke with the fucked up head.
>>11446075>Meanwhile star wars figures prices have doubled here from when I was previously collecting in the early 2010sThe same is true here in Aus as well. As I mentioned in a previous thread the I got the original Shae Vizla for 14 bucks when it came out, and the "deluxe" Jango that came out recently is 65 fucking dollars, despite having basically the same parts count. I made this image for the sake of clarity.
>>11446126>>11446340There's also this Luke which is not super accurate to the scene where they're back in their regular outfits, but it has Luke's wet hair.
But yeah, your best bet is to get some Stormtroopers and cut the belts off.
What's the likelihood we get a re-release/update of AOTC Padme in the near future?
Target is getting reissues of TVC Bib Fortuna, Bom Vimdin, and the Gamorreon Guard as part of Return to Tatooine. They're up for preorder now. The Gammy is marked up to the Deluxe price point though which stinks but is better than the current eBay price if you need some but they also have a limit of 2 per customer.
>>11447518Isn't she still pretty cheap on secondary market? But I wouldn't be surprised if they re-release her sometime.
>>11447519>Bom VimdinNot a surprise, I was sure they would repack whatever cantina characters they had already made in 1.0
>>11447537>Isn't she still pretty cheap on secondary market?Fairly (though postage will fuck me over in my country by basically doubling whatever I pay), but mainly I have a really unlucky track record of picking figures up on the secondary market only for improved versions to get either announced or fully released a week after I finally get them. So honestly it wouldn't surprise me if I bought it and while it's in shipping they announce an archive version with improved face printing or a retool with pinless limbs. The only thing that would make that okay is if they do a version with the exposed midriff, but I doubt that's gonna get made any time in the near future.
On a tangential note, god damn I want a new Nexu, either in the Vintage Collection or Black Series, or both ideally. I fucking love that fuzzy bastard.
>>11447580She already has face printing. If they did an Archive one her face would probably actually be worse since they downgraded their photo real. I really doubt they will ever make any tooling updates to her desu. Maybe a soft goods cape at most. More likely to get a new Padme wearing a different outfit
>>11447585>since they downgraded their photo realI think the face printing has improved, if you compare the face on the latest Leia it looks way better than the previous archive collection, which is the exact same head sculpt.
>>11447626If you're talking about Boushh, the sculpt is different. The new ANH one does not have the same head sculpt as archive either because everything on it is new expect the legs.
There might be some instances where recent is better like with the upcoming Cal Kestis in the Turgle set. But overall it definitely has downgraded. They used to have a little bit more shading around the face, now they just do bare minimum eyes and lips.
>>11447585I'm not a huge fan of either of the two BS padmes. The AOTC figure especially makes her look like she's pulling a kind of shit-eating smirk.
>>11447626>latest LeiaWhich one?
>>11447737>BoushhThat's the original and the Archive, right? I'm too lazy to look at my Boushh Leia, is the one in the SOTE two pack the same as the Archive one?
>>11447756That picture compares archive and SOTE which has a new head
bib
md5: b7f13be26867c6ede559efd51f04e4a6
๐
>>11447537I can see why they did Bom since he was released so long ago and goes for kind of high on the secondary market, but why the fuck are they putting Bib out again? He was released not that long ago and has been available for $10 on Amazon for like the last year or so. It's not even an alt card or anything. They could have made a better choice. Like take the 3.75 Black Series of Mosep Bineed and put him on a TVC card instead.
>>11447932They did this with the dark trooper too. You could get the deluxe with the charging station for cheaper than the carded repack. Mandalorian Ahsoka as well one of them is down to $4. They need to get better at choosing repacks.
>>11447936At least the Dark Trooper kind of make sense since it's an army builder and appeased people who wanted it on a card and not in the windowless box. I wasn't totally against its release other than the timing, but I thought it was stupid as fuck to pack it in with the fist instead of the C-grip hand so it could at least hold the blaster. I just can't imagine there's anyone who wants Bib that doesn't already have him at this point though. Especially when it's going to a nationwide retailer like Target instead of fan channel like these repacks tend to. I fear he'll be the new Lando.
>>11447737>>11447756Nah, I'm talking about the A New Hope Leia. The one that came out this year is the same head sculpt as the first one they did. Which shows that they CAN use older heads on new figures. So once again WHY did they not use the X-Wing pilot Luke for the new ANH figure when it has THE best ANH Hamill likeness.
>>11446621Unfortunately I am a TVC guy
>>11447519I fucking hate Target but I need the Bom Vimdin so I guess I have no choice. The last time I tried to preorder something from Target they randomly decided to cancel my preorders then block my account from placing new orders for a while. I had to spend an hour getting the runaround from retarded jeet customer service people before finally being given a white person's email address to contact, only for them to tell me that my account was blocked from placing orders because the jeet customer service people placed too many orders on my behalf.
>>11448202Thatโs clearly a different sculpt
>>11448255Their whole debacle with the recent Retro six pack has a lot of people frustrated and it's definitely got me nervous about the order I made for the Gamorreons. It's the first preorder I've had with them in over a year so I'm not looking forward to the constant dings to my debit card every two weeks if that's something they still do.
>>11448259The plastic and paint (along with the angle) makes it hard to tell from these photos, but I have the original and the new one and in person you can tell the sculpt is identical. The head and the boots are re-use from the original figure.
>>11448255I stopped preordering with Target after they kept pinging my card every week. Like take the money or don't, leave me alone.
I got Momaw Nadon. This figure is not worth $24. Christ Almighty, what this line has become...
>>11448697I disagree. I don't feel bad paying that price for him. He's as well executed as Zeb.
>>11448838You're the kind of sucker they love.
Anyone got suggestions on a part or replacement arm set source? This one didn't come with its second arm.
Will hasbro make this early cw Ahsoka? Now we have updated cw Anakin, and re-released cw Obiwan. I think this is the good time to make earlier outfit of ahsoka. It would be great if the jabbaโs son and backpack comes together as well.
>>11448950You'll get the flashback version from the Ahsoka show and that's it
>>11448846I guess? I've never paid full price for any of the deluxe packs so far except the E-Web, Zeb, and now Hammerhead. I plan on getting a few more for custom fodder once he goes on sale.
>TVC Gamorrean re-release is $25
Is Hasbro hoping people forget that this same figure was released at the standard price?
>>11448950You'll have to get the flashback version and find/make a printed torso to make her tubetop or slave girl looks
>>11449120They're definitely playing us for fools now. The line is losing collectors, so they have to stick the pay piggies extra hard.
>>11449120This also comes down to Target. They have apparently made the request for more Deluxe priced items. This was probably the only thing Hasbro had in the tooling tank for a repack that would qualify for that and fit the Return to Tatooine theme. Still, it's better than paying $50+ that they go for on the secondary market, though I would have preferred they had just done an army builder pack with them instead. Maybe just stick it to 3 in a box instead of 4 since there are technically 9 guards in the palace and sail barge.
>>11449198Surely they could've also come up with someone other than Bib Fortuna, who is cheap as hell on eBay and literally $10 on Amazon
Maybe do one of the characters from those 3-4 packs, like Vedain or Tessek. The tooling exists, the packaging exists, and the sets are no longer available new so they're not shooting themselves in the foot by offering one of those figures by themselves.
>>11449198>They have apparently made the request for more Deluxe priced items.I refuse to believe this is true. They all go to clearance.
>>11449227Yeah they were littered with training Lukes, Krrsantans, and Sabines. In fact most of their exclusives have pegwarmed hard like the carbonized black series and Andor trooper. I'm surprised they're still ordering stuff.
>>11449227I don't know what to tell you Anon.
You aren't wrong but the evidence is there on the shelves. If they didn't want them, they wouldn't order them. Target could stop carrying TVC tomorrow if they chose to.
Hi bros, is it too late to start a KOTOR shelf? I just happen to see that they are reissuing Malak and Nihilus. Bastila is still more or less MSRP. I'm not that tuned into the rest, except Revan aftermarket prices are oof
>>11449013There's absolutely no way they're gonna do tube top Ahsoka in the TV series. If it was the 90s/00s when tube tops were popular then MAYBE they would have done it, but now the blue-haireds would lose their minds. I mean shit they got rid of S3 Ahsoka's boob window.
>>11449252They may as well, they don't stock it
>>11449312They didn't just get rid of the S3 boob window, they got rid of her S1 look altogether. That flashback is supposed to be to the Battle of Teth from the Clone Wars movie, where she should've been in the tube top. So they're now going with the idea that she never dressed like that and your pic is what she was wearing when she first became Anakin's padawan.
Young Jyn actress from 10 years ago turned out to be pretty hot. You guys think we might see prime hebe Jyn anytime soon?
>>11448219I'm holding out that some of the tooling from the Crapolyte Jedi figures will be leveraged to make a Dagan Gera for TVC. Indara seems like she has the right pants and the way the torso are constructed means they basically just have to make an overlay that sits over a buck so the tooling won't be as intense if they use Sol/Yord as a base.
>>11449333Kind of crazy that she even looks similar to Felicity Jones. Most of the time the kids they cast for a young version of an actor grow up to look nothing like them. They should do a young Jyn Erso show in her time with Saw's partisan group.
>>11449344You think Saw told Jyn to huff the Rydo?
>>11449312>>11449327They literally made the boob window figure for the Black Series. It's her second outfit in the Clone Wars.
>>11449411Let's be real: they'd never let this outfit appear in live-action too. Boob window, bare back, cutouts on leggings, the whole outfit being pretty much skin tight? Yeah, not happening.
You need someone extremely athletic and tight to play live-action Ahsoka, both young and old. The young girl they got was chubby, and Rosario Dawson is a fucking fridge with saggy tits who can't move and do any action to save her live.
>Make cheap army builder figures (Clone trooper legions, Stormtroopers, Battledroids and Rebels, Old Republic soldiers) stuff that generally is the same mold and some slight recolouring
>Make more expensive unique individual figures (e.g. Revan or Director Krennic) being more expensive due to unique molds
Why aren't they doing this? They'd make much more money as less well off collectors while still being somewhat decent for well off collectors. Army builders would be more willing to buy.
Instead you got to spend like 20 dollars on a B1 Battledroid that would've been half that price only a decade ago
>>11446065>Epic Series $7Wow I can pay the same price for what TVC used to be and get a worse product. Thats awesome!!"!
>>11449488Truly we are blessed to be Star Wars Entertainment enjoyers! :D
>>11449410>>11449411We were talking about translating the cartoon designs into live-action, not into the figures.
Though I doubt Hasbro will do a tube top Ahsoka any time in the near future either. Which sucks because as I've said before in previous threads I would absolutely love to see Hasbro take another run at the animation style figures again. Even if it's just the main cast.
>>11446049>>11446065These are truly some of the worst takes I have ever read. I have been collecting toys, and Star Wars specifically, since childhood. I have never stopped collecting, and I have been spending my own money since I started earning it, so I have been there year in year out. I've seen how this shit has gone from toys aimed at children, to splitting into a kid's line and a "collector line" then dropping the illusion that any of this is for kids, jacking up the prices and then creating a subline in another kids line in order to feed off that demographic.
Understand that the Epic line is NOT a Star Wars line, it is a dedicated subline brand, and also understand this Hasbro as a corporate entity absolutely does not give a shit about you, your opinions, or your wants. They only care about gouging your wallet as much as possible and have been frog-boiling us for years trying to accept paying ever increasing prices for less stuff (fewer accessories/paint apps/swappable parts/articulation) at worse quality. It's not about being "poor" it's about not being ripped off. I am not paying for a deluxe Transformer, when it costs the same price a Leader class figure cost just a couple years ago.
Hasbro is not your friend.
>>11449411Why does Anakin let her dress like such a slut? Does he WANT to watch the entire 501st run a train on her?
>>11449550Not so snippy now...
>>11446065I love this qoute. The common man shouldn't have anything at a reasonable price but its A OK for companies to exploit cheap labour to save themselves moeny and use the cheapest components and resell it to the consumer at a high price
>>11449306I think I saw Malgus got pretty expensive and Zaalbar was a pegwarmer so he might be cheap. I mean up to you if you like those characters enough to pay over retail for them
>>11449481Well they kind of are with the TVC 4 packs and TBS 2 packs. When they started they were cheaper than buying that many figures individually. But they have gone up in price now though I think it's still a bit cheaper.
>>11449488Anon. It's been 15 years since 3.75" figures were $7. Everything has gone up in price since then.
Interesting results to a poll from Mr. Stevie
>>11449639Makes sense. That flashback Anakin is terrible. I don't know what they were thinking with the soft goods tunic. I thought we were past doing that. Plus the 2013 legs, long arms and wacky armor. Only good thing is the head sculpt. Meanwhile for Luke I would say it's the opposite and the only bad thing is the head sculpt. Bacara was a fail too with squished helmet and zero weathering. TVC worsts are on point too.
You wouldn't actually go back, would you
>>11449756Everything was better then
>>11449756A lot of it is nostalgic for sure but still Iโd rather have modern articulation and accuracy though with more paint apps.
>>11444183>somehow Palpatine returned is okay if it's 90s EU comic
>>11449821>somehow Palpatine returned is okay if it's 90s EU comicI've litteraly never heard anyone ever claim that was a good storyline beyond a guilty pleasure. Try better next time sequel retard.
>>11449756Sculpts are better now, but the toys themselves used to be better in the 90s.
>>11449498Ah, I see. My mistake. I think the figure came out amazing personally. I don't mind the flash black look personally. The actress is 18 anyway. I took it as a combo appearance for seasons 1 and 2 and there was no way they were going to make her look like a little hoho, when even Dave didn't want her to look at like that originally (the tube top). She seriously looks like a teenybopper from 2007
>>11449416I think it's possible they could show it, but obviously not now they they combine both outfits for the flashback. Oh well. I personally love season 2 and 3 look for her.
Why are you dumb zoomers arguing about Filonislop, Ashoka existence is a massive plothole to Episode 3, Clone Wars and Rebels didnt add anything worthwhile except clogging the pegs with various clone repaint. Treat yourselves by not buying Filonislop and save some money. If you really have to buy an Ashoka figure, at least chop her up and kitbash her into some kind of OC petite jailbait Tortuga prostitute and put her in Jabba palace or cantina display
>>11450089you have to be 18 to post here
>>11450089>Ashoka existence is a massive plothole to Episode 3ancientfag
>>11449312Will we actually get this do you think?
>>11449632Salary's in my cunt havent
>>11449342I was disappointed with his look in survivor. He looked cool after the bacta tank, but then he casually got his 200 year old robes, I would have preferred him to have a more contemporary outfit.
>>11450093I think it's likely though I'm kind of surprised they haven't done it yet
>>11449756Nah. I'm very happy with how the sculpt, face printing, and engineering is on modern figures. I loved the POTF2 line when I was a kid but the quality of toys we have now are what I always wished those to be. The only thing I would take from back then over now is just the sheer volume and character selection but there was also far less media to cover so it is what it is.
>>11449756Now i'm mad the black series didn't have two Jawas in one box.
>>11445959Thank you orange kun your trade strategies would make the empire proud
>>11450206God bless my president.
>>11450093Ahsoka is getting a second season with apparently both Hayden and Ewan coming back to do another flashback episode, which given that the previous flashback episode was the only good episode out of season 1 and the most well received I think there's a solid chance we could see a figure of her for season 2.
I do hope it happens because they've done an Ahsoka Anakin, there's a live-action style TCW Obi-Wan, and two for Rex, so live-action Ahsoka would round out the squad.
>>11449821Nah a lot of people hated including Lucas. There is some nostalgia for those who read at the time and I personally dig Cam Kennedy's art but the story is fucking awful, tried to re-read a few months ago and it was way worse than I remembered.
>>11450804>a lot of people hated including LucasThen why did he sign off on it? The guy had final say on everything until 2012. Unless he was purposely just doing a cash grab, knowing heโd retcon it all later, anyway.
>personally dig Cam Kennedy's art but the story is fucking awfulThe art in Dark Empire is quite unique and enjoyable. Dark Empire 2 makes everyone look like they have bad acne or some kind of facial pustules. Empireโs End is embarrassing throughout. The concept of world devastators was interesting, but the series kept getting more outlandish as it went on, i.e. the eclipse star destroyer thatโs got its own superlaser, the galaxy gun, etc. Part of me wants to believe there was some self-awareness in those plots and that they did some of that to mock how gonzo the EU was already becoming. I remember I had one of those โessential chronologyโ books that attempted to sort it all out.
>>11450842>Unless he was purposely just doing a cash grab, knowing heโd retcon it all later, anyway.Exactly this.
>>11450842the og plan was for lucas to he a head creative consultant with nuwars, but he got pushed out by jj when he got involved

>>11450804Dark Empire is better than the sequels.
>>11451218Not by much. Not defending the sequels, it's just Dark Empire is pretty bad.
>>11451276It's better than you give it credit for.
>>11451276Dark Empire definitely clears the sequels, you can read DE 1, 2, and Empire's End in less time than it takes to watch any one of the trilogy and the art in Dark Empire was pretty good.
>>11449556It was ridiculous, like a constant porno, you have no idea. And she was a good friend.
>>11451289I was around for the EU, including Dark Empire. Most of it wasn't very good, although I will contend that
>>11451306 is correct and that even the worst of the worst EU shit was still better than the ST.
>>11451366>Most of it wasn't very good,You are a fucking idiot if you think that. There were some stinkers for sure, but the EU was a treasure trove for stories and keeping SW going.
>>11451405Yeah I don't think there was that much bad stuff as people claim. I think most prequel era books at least were kino. Even stuff for kids like the Jedi Apprentice series was good as fuck and much better than agenda pushing High Republic woke slop
>>11451276>2x better story>1000x better imagery>faithful charactersEven if the story were equally as shit as the sequels, it's still a million times more interesting to look at than the sequels. The sequels had boring as fuck designs because they just reused the same designs as the OT and the aliens were all variations of each other. Almost samefags.
It's the designs that also kept the prequels so much more interesting.
>1000x better settingNEVERFUCKINGMIND the setting. The prequels are their own thing too, with Republic being a toothless bureaucracy and all new different worlds to explore. The sequels were again a retread of the OT, so it's same backward snow (derp salt),forest/sand planets with the downtrodden rebels struggling to fight against the evil empire.
Whereas Dark Empire has the New Republic chasing down the last remnants of the Empire to shitholes that not even the Rebels used. Completely new and exciting to explore, like the OT and prequels.
>>11451405Ok, I'll admit it was a good portion of it wasn't outright bad, but some still existed. I guess it was mostly really mediocre and a lot of it felt, at least to me at the time, kinda fan fic-y. Especially the later stuff. I still cringe every time I think of Cade Skywalker or the Vong. But it's still miles ahead of the ST so it's fine.
>>11451218>>11451276>>11451306>>11451366The potf Dark Empire toys were actually damn good as well, with the folding box dioramas and all.
>>11451405>the EU was a treasure trove for stories and keeping SW going.Keeping SW going was the operative purpose of the whole EU. But yeah, I always really enjoyed a lot of the stories. Just from books alone:
>thrawn trilogy>sote>jedi academy trilogy>most of the short story collections (esp. the earlier ones like tales from the cantina and tales of the bounty hunters). The later stuff like
>>11451533 said, the vong shit, was a big turd. The OT EU ended for me with that follow-up thrawn duology where everyone signed a peace treaty in the end.
>>11451436Yes, dark empire is far more visually unique and interesting than anything Disney has done.
In case anyone needs the Black Series Obi-Wan and 212th trooper two pack itโs in stock on the Disney store website. This usually goes pretty quick.

>>11452280Are they any different from the original Target and Walgreens exclusives? I already have those figures.
>>11452322Theyโre the exact same. I do wanna say I saw somewhere that the face printing is better on this two pack one but I canโt find any pics quickly.
Hopefully we finally see Anakin and Obi-Wan since they're supposedly in the next wave with Galle and Sandtrooper
>>11452430>>11452431Please finally reveal TVC Han and Chewie
Anyone else really want a brand new Vader? TVC Vader is runner circles around the antiquated black series one
Itโs not bad especially the helmet put the proportions look nothing like a body builder
>>11450842>Then why did he sign off on it? Unless he was purposely just doing a cash grab, knowing heโd retcon it all later, anyway.Exactly this. He never liked the Expanded Universe and always made it clear nothing there was part of the movies
>>11452479It's not that he didn't like the Expanded Universe, it's just that he never considered it canon (its his work and he can tell his story without behind held back by others work). He still used elements from the EU, because he liked what they did. He even praised some of the comics with keeping the tone of his work and wanted others to copy it (Dark Empire) when they did their own EU stories.
>>11452082I think most of the hate that the EU gets are from people who never finished a book, or read a wiki/watched a youtuber. Most people who read the books know how good they could be, hence continuing to read them. There's a wide variety of quality, but there's a lot of entertaining ones that are worth reading if you want more GOOD Star Wars.
>>11452442I honestly have Vader fatigue at this point.
>>11452437Yeah haven't those been the last remaining pipelines for a while now? I feel like they were announced over a year ago.
>>11452442They should have invested in an all new sculpt for Vader with pinless knees a long time ago with how many Vaders they've pumped out. But because they already repacked him a gorillion times, it's kind of too late. I don't really want to see another Vader again for a few years and I don't think a new would would sell very well right now because they released too many of the old ones and everyone has one now.
>>11452430Just put that ROTS Windu-Sheev set up for preorder.
>>11452602Is that black series or TVC?
>>11452605Supposed to be black series.
>>11452602Forcing people to get another Mace Windu just to get Chancellor outfit Palpatine is gonna be retarded. It would have been a great opportunity to get Saesee Tiin or Agen Kolar into the line even if it's just a new head on Mace's body.
>>11452592>Yeah haven't those been the last remaining pipelines for a while now?Yep. I thought for sure they would be a Celebration reveal but now it's like, just get them out to us already
>>11452589May I ask for suggestions of the good stuff? I have never read any. I think I like Zahn if that means anything (positive or negative) cos I have started The Icarus books.

>>11452682Xwing series (up until the original author leaves).
The Zahn books of course, up til 2010.
Republic Commando series until like book 3?
The Bounty Hunter War book, and keep reading from this series if you like it.
The Tale From... (Empire/Catina/Jabba's Palace/Bount Hunters) books have some good short stories, but there's also complete shlock in those. Well worth a read.
This is from the top of my head, btw. There's quite a bit to filter out that I've read and i dno't really remember the titles for individual books. There's stuff like I, Jedi and Darth Plagueis that are pretty good
As for comics, Crimson Empire and all those sequels. All the original Dark Horse Boba Fett ones too. There's also comic Tales collections, but like the short stories, quality varies a lot. Still worth reading.
Can't really recommend anything once Marvel took over.
People seem to like the Han Solo trilogy, but i tried to and never finished the first book. Maybe i dropped it because I wanted to re-read ASOIAF because A Feast for Crows was going to come out.
>>11452704Damn, thanks for the post, I'll save it and give them a go. Any particular characters from any of them you hope someone makes a figure out of?
>>11452682The Jedi Apprentice and Jedi Quest series' are pretty decent for kids books. The former is about Obi-Wan pre-Phantom Menace, while the latter is about Anakin post-Phantom Menace.
>>11452714not from the books.
Most human characters are generic enough that a quick custom can stand in for them in the Star Wars universe.
We already got some of the most popular ones, BUT a lot of the comic ones need to be made/remade, since there's a lot of visually interesting designs there.
>>11452735I loved the way they drew the comics and the colours they used back then. Why'd that go away?
>>11452816NTA, but that artist (Tom Veitch) ended up going blind, so that's why his particular style went away unfortunately. Also, drawing and coloring books digitally kind of ruined everything.

There's a wide variety of quality, but there's a lot of entertaining ones that are worth reading if you want more GOOD Star Wars.IMO the earlier books/comics were better because you can tell the writers got the maximum level of creative freedom. Especially the short story collectionsโlike tales from the mos eisley cantina, where they had some really fun stories about random creatures/extras you only saw for half a second in the movieโs one bar scene. The later books, you got bogged down by the chronology.

The New Rebellion was the first EU book I ever read and I loved it. The antagonist and terrorist plot were great. Of course I'm going by my memory as a teen, haven't read the book since so perhaps I have a soft spot for it, but it's what got me hooked into reading more and raiding the local library. This all happened after ROTS just came out so the EU was still a vast ocean of untapped potential and lacking Disney's taint.
>>11453186>haven't read the book since so perhaps I have a soft spot for it, but it's what got me hooked into reading more and raiding the local libraryEven though TNR has a gay villain, this is a really great reason to be nostalgic for it, or any sw book. It was similar for me: pulp and popular genre books like EU stuff kept my curiosity and love of reading alive while the American public school system was doing its best to destroy both.
>>11452728>>11453309Seconding the Jedi Apprentice books. I'm reading them right now, but I will warn you if you're going to buy physical copies, after volume 10, they become really fucking difficult to track down.
>>11453095I don't think it's "creative freedom" that they had, but rather, they weren't beholden to reusing the same popular characters over and over.
The stories they told were what started the entire direction for the EU, but their stories were undoubtedly committee made. AND we do know that Lucas limited what they could and couldn't write about. So the early stuff just had First Mover advantage, so it seems creative and fresh.
Later stuff gets bogged down with continuity, like you said. They have to follow up on X story, even though X was resolved. They can't do Z because Y already did that. Or they do Z again, but with some minor revisions. They have to use previously established characters, because they're popular, so they start introducing fewer characters who could freshen the series. All this becomes stale, hence eventually needing to shake the entire universe up by killing popular characters and creating the Vong.
People want OT STAR WARS and it eventually became not-really-OT because they ran out of stories to tell in that setting because they wrote a thousand books.
I mean, there's a reason why i don't recommend the X Wing series after the original author leaves, because they basically did everything they could with the characters the author invented and its setting got played out. The XWing series continues and the next book is pretty good, but it's not great like before and later books eventually become bad.
Reboots work make things not stale, and the Prequels worked as that reboot. And it really wasn't a reboot, because it was an entirely new narrative and setting, with mostly brand new characters. So the EU books really didn't need the Vong anymore, we started getting a lot of new stories that previously wasn't allowed to be told: what happened before the OT, during the Republic era. And the quality for the books increased a ton.
So are we getting the Leia?
>>11449756Maybe to buy bitcoin, definitely not for toys (at least not Star Wars toys). Why go back when I can reliably get some fun shit from back then for basically the same price it was then that still interacts well with modern sloppa
>>11453824If we canโt even get slave leia I doubt weโre getting rape leia
>>11453734>Later stuff gets bogged down with continuity, like you said. They have to follow up on X story, even though X was resolved. They can't do Z because Y already did that. Or they do Z again, but with some minor revisionsAn issue that persists even with current canon. I reread the Thrawn Trilogy a few months ago and one of the things that stood out about to me is how much it really benefits from only having to consider the events of the OT. There's a bit where Han is thinking about the moments that made him fall in love with Leia and it's like three scenes from the OT. Contrast that with the later EU and current canon, where almost all of the 'middle story' has been filled in and you have countless books, comics and video games to factor in.

>>11449333What I've been thinking about for the last few years is that eventually they are going to have to have new actors as Luke, Han and Leia, without deepfakes. Star Wars can't go on indefinitely avoiding the characters that made the franchise what it is when the sequels failed so horribly at passing the torch. Some people insist that the original characters are what's holding Star Wars back, to which I say "How?" They've barely had any screentime in any live action media since Disney bought the IP. There's no evidence that Star Wars movies and shows have been flopping because they had too much Luke Skywalker.
What's more, I think we're robbing a new generation of actors and audiences of having their own stars by hiding the actors' faces behind CGI deepfakery. Graham Hamilton was an absolute deadringer for Luke just from the hair and makeup they did him up in even you can tell it's not Mark Hamill, and seeing him without the CG mask honestly makes me feel weirdly nostalgic for something that didn't happen, a lost timeline where instead of cavalcade horrible soulless corporate slop movies and TV shows we instead got a fresh set of actors to just pick up where Return of the Jedi left off and tell us the stories that happened after Return of the Jedi. They had a hundred novels, comics and games to draw stories from plus the hindsight advantage of only bringing the best and most fondly remembered ones to the screen.
If, not when when Star Wars gets the reset button hit on it, I think that's what needs to happen. It's so obvious and staring everyone in the face that we need to go back and have more adventures with the characters who made the IP what it is, and it needs to be the stories that the fans already know will work. Any studio would spend hundreds of millions of dollars to get the rights to just the Thrawn Trilogy, and yet Disney who sits on the entire EU library has said "we gave ourselves a strict a rule that we can't adapt those because reasons."
>>11454258first, stop calling them 'the sequels' they are not. They are the 'disney movies' or if you want a more direct reference, the 'disney trilogy'.
Saying Sequel implies they are part of the origin, the creator's mind of the Originals and Prequels.

>>11454528I'm still debating whether I really want the 2-pack.
>>11454346This anon is right, language is very important and has the power to legitimise or de-legitimise something within the public consciousness. Remember how Disney were very adamant about making sure nobody that worked for them in any official capacity, right down to other companies doing merchandising absolutely could not refer to Grogu as "baby Yoda" even though that's how everyone referred to him.
Calling the Sequels the "Disney Trilogy" will very much isolate them as a separate entity within how people view Star Wars. I'm surprised no-one thought to do this sooner.
Hi guys, does anyone know how well GI Joe classified scale with Black Series? I know that Black Series don't scale well with Marvel Legends because of comic book proportion and scale creep on Marvel Legends. I'm thinking of picking some random GI Joe guys for my rebel troopers. I'm not asking specifically about the heights, but the proportions (e.g., big heads, how many heads the characters generally are). What truly distinguish Black Series from Marvel Legends is that Black Series characters have smaller realistic head compared to Marvel Legends
>>11454346I've actually cut out a couple people in my life because they were Sequel defenders
>>11454859Generally I'd say they're too big, depends on the character though
>>11454822I got the two pack for Luke. I was kind of introduced to Star Wars through that old PotF figures. I went to visit my cousins on the other side of the country and we all wne tup to a family cabin as a kind of family reunion type thing. My cousins brought a bunch of their PotF II figures and showed me and my brother who all the characters were. The Luke they had was the SotE Luke in disguise. I was especially found of that figure out of all the rest due to his removable helmet. I thought that was the coolest thing ever as a 6 year old. The following year the Special Editions came out and my mom bought the gold box version of it and we started getting the action figures and vehicles. I had a pretty extensive collection bak in the day but I never did get any Shadows figures. I always wanted Dash though after playing the N64 game.
Actually, speaking of all those old PotF toys, my mom was clearing out all our old toys from her house and she gave me all those and a bunch of other childhood toys. She kept everything and now I have it. Figures, vehicles, 3 huge totes worth of shit, and the Falcon was even separate from all those. I really need to go through everything and see what is and isn't complete. I might be able to use some of those ships as good background material for photography, I'm a Black Series collector so they aren't the right scale for play with my modern figures.
>>11454868Thanks! Do you have a pic of any random GI Joe next to ANH, Hoth, or Endor rebel trooper?
>>11454877>ANH, Hoth, of Endor rebel trooperI don't have any of those, sorry
>>11454871I'm really disappointed they just re-used a clone body for the torso on the new Luke. It just makes the new figure look so skinny. I also wish they hadn't made it so glossy.
We're definitely not getting another SOTE Luke or Dash or anyone else in the near future though, so I'll take what I can get (which is a problem in itself).
>>11454849Thank you, you understand the importance of language. That trilogy has no father. Itโs a bastard trilogy. Illegitimate.
>>11454849>Remember how Disney were very adamant about making sure nobody that worked for them in any official capacity, right down to other companies doing merchandising absolutely could not refer to Grogu as "baby YodaWhy is that bad? He's not baby Yoda and it'd be weird for him to be officially referred to as such when he's a completely separate character.
>>11454849Cry about it autist.
>>11454195>references references references referencesWell, yeah, that's kinda lame, especially when you don't read every book in the series.
In the Thrawn Duology, i still think they're referring to Dark Horse's Crimson Empire characters.
They explained them well enough in the book, like a good book should, but they were so fleshed out that i think they were from another book.
... and checking it out now, they seem to be originally made for the Duology. Other characters were not, hence me thinking the main villains were references too.
>>11455073It's not so much that it's bad, it's just an example of how language can affect branding and recognition. Like how Google doesn't like people using the phrase "Google it" because they worry that it will make the brand Google seem like just a generic term, like how Escalator used to be a trademarked name, but now is so ubiquitous with the device that it's just what they're called.
Referring to the films as "The Disney Trilogy" isolates them away from the franchise as a whole and keeps a clear delineation between the original films and what Disney has produced, preventing them from being able to keep their product viable through association with what people actually like, the Original Trilogy.
>>11454849I remember when they were even correcting guests at the park with "It's 'The Child'" sternly like an um,aktually autist. I still call him Baby Yoda and the main reason I did that in the first place is because Yoda's species doesn't have a name. Just like I call those senators in Episode I the E.T. Senators.

>>11455100I'm actually reading that right now. If you're thinking of Major Tierce, I don't think he has any connection to the Crimson Empire characters other than also being a member of the Royal Guard. Wedge, Corran, Horn, Mirax, Booster Terrik and a few other characters from the Rogue Squadron books feature pretty prominently though. I don't mind that though, since stuff like that and Talon Karrde showing up in one of the RS books just feels like two good writers playing off each other within the same shared creative space.

>>11455902NTA but I found Jacen's whole fall to the dark side thing to be pretty dumb. The idea was interesting, but the execution was pretty ass if I remember right. Granted, it's been like 15 years or more since I read that stuff back in high school, so my memory may be off. And I don't let aspects of franchises that I don't like, retroactively ruin the parts of said franchise that I do like. Yeah, the Disney shit and the ST suck, so guess what? I just ignore them and pretend they don't exist, and what do you know, they don't take away from my enjoyment of the aspects of Star Wars I still like. I just rewatched the OT a month ago and had a blast. I don't get why so many people go out of their way to focus on aspects of something they don't like when they could instead spend that energy focusing on the aspects they do like. >>11456441With all the Legends shit they've been putting out, I can certainly see it happening. They'll put it in a 4 pack though with another set of Han, Luke, and Leia repaints.
Hi guys this might sounds weird, but I fell asleep couple days ago listening to toy podcast on autoplay, and I can't remember if this is true or not but I somehow heard that if you dunk the Mafex Stormtrooper Luke head and squish it vertically, the Mark Hamill likeness is improved. However, I couldn't find any source in writing via Google, and I don't go to other boomer forums/Facebook/reddit group doing DIY fixes. Also it could also be legitimately a dream, I don't know. Scrap Iron here was $45 years ago because he came with this small drone.
There's more going on with the platform and it has its own little droid too.
Prices were already going up since Scrap Iron was released AND this was BEFORE the tariffs started being introduced. PLUS being a limited edition (15k produced is limited compared to normal 100k-5m) for SDCC/fanwhatever? $110 is the new "fair" price.
This is probably the first year in like 15 years i probably won't buy anything from Hasbro at SDCC. Nothing exciting is getting announced, but my interest in Hasbro's stuff has waned ever since they started focusing on 1:12 scale in 2014.

>>11460142I don't have it but I think generally all vehicles are a little bit undersized. New one is a reissue so it'll be same as the old one
Why do you guys feel the need to be rude?
>>11460604Don't be a pussy
>>11460555>all vehicles are a little bit undersized.Damn really? The Black Series ships are actually accurate scaled so I thought TVC ships would be too. I've always wanted a line of SW vehicles that are in scale with each other. MGS is cool but they're all over the place. The Bandai models are mostly in scale except for the Walkers, Snow Speeders and Slave 1.
>>11459500>resting bitch face>might scale with a body I have. She came out last summer, right? Was she a retail release?
>>11460685Yeah don't expect the 3.75" scale vehicles to scale with each other, at least not accurately. Hasbro is far worse than MGS is about this because they have to deliberately underscale most of the vehicles for practical reasons.
>>11460268>>11460247I have the original, I'm annoyed that I'm gonna buy the new one just for the head. But to be fair the original head is REALLY fucking ugly. I wish they'd re-done the mid section too and gotten rid of the sculpted in twist.
>>11460265I'd get every one. Hoping for HK-47 first though.
Wallpaper anon here. I made this just for my own amusement and figured I might as well share it here (anons can use it as a backdrop if they want). 100 internet points to the first anon that figures out the reference.
Third party 1/12 soft goods Vader coming
>>11462074>>11462076>can't use Darth Vader so they call him Death Star SupervisorIsn't Death Star also trademarked?
>>11462076Helmet looks bad
>>11462080>Laser Moon Regional Manager
>>11462086Yeahโฆ surprisingly the soft goods donโt look too bad since Vader is bulky anyways, but that helmet is a miss
>>11462086>>11462087It looks like they used one of those old Halloween masks as the reference
>>11462074>>11462086>>11462087>>11462092It looks almost like an expensive 1/12 version of the old POTF2 Vader.
>>11462231Kind of wonder if anyone would be willing to do the Super7 TMNT thing and do POTF2 figures with updated articulation
I would honestly get a He-man Luke if they did that
Does anyone happen to have the 2chan pic of the modded bandai model kit vader with a cloth cape?
>>11450089Based. I'm one of those guys who likes everything pre disney and hates after post Disney. With the exception of Filonislop. always thought the clone wars cartoon was boring as shit and Ahsoka sucked. I mean just look at this Filoni guy. He literally looks like a fat homosexual rat/human hybrid that always feels the need to wear a Cowboy hat. I have no idea why the majority of the fandom generally hates Disney, but likes this guy.
>>11455592Removable helmets are slop.
>>11458291They look amazing, but they remind me of dolls and it's kind of creepy. Not for me, but I get why people like them.
>>11463041I mean all action figures are dolls technically. Hot Toys are for people who like having the most accurate versions of the characters as possible.
>>11463053>Hot Toys>the most accurate versions of the characters
>>11463058Yes? I mean you get what you pay for with Hot Toys. The best detail and likenesses out there.
>Rey movie officially shelved
Well thatโs disappointing
>>11463118It's for the best desu
>>11463118Anyone who was a fan of star wars didn't want it
