Anyone know how uncommon this is?
Yes I know the condition is pretty bad.

Have any uncommon or rare toys / model cars yourself, what you got?

Lesney armored truck produced between 1961-1967 so one year before Hot Wheels was even born
Dodge Daytona Kidco Keycar kinda rare nowdays
Some of vintage 80s made in china sport cars such as nissan 300 or porsche, they were common back then but not many of them survived now.
Nearly perfect condition vintage 80s Welly diecast cars, almost like new.

Was at an antique store yesterday and one of the booths had a complete set of on-card September 11 commemorative Muscle Machines (e.g. pic related). I almost got them because I was so baffled by them even though I don't collect Muscle Machines.

Is there anything printed on the underside?

I've scrolled through the Hot Wheels Wiki list for Cars with Exposed Engines twice and still can't find a match.

Not OP but that's because this is Matchbox car from era before Mattel obtained Matchbox as well.
This one.

Dodge Daytona, that's pretty cool sure I had one couldn't tell you where it is today though!

These are utterly bizarre. Crazily enough a
model shop in my city has them too.

>>11454443
Correct. I found it yesterday after another net search. It's reasonably rare mines in pretty
poor condition if you get one like the pic it can be worth $100 +.

Considering giving it a repaint since mines only worth about $10 anyway.

A repaint could bring some glory back to it. You could use some Molotow liquid chrome to repaint the rims and engine, too. As for the cracked windshield, I dunno if it'd be possible to reproduce it by cutting a section of clear plastic from some store packaging (like toys or small tools are displayed in) and bending it to a similar shape, maybe using a hair dryer to soften it. Maybe just clean the old windshield off and the crack will give it some character.

What's the general environment in your area for thrift/antique stores? There's a place near me that has a baby carriage that got turned into a makeshift dump bin and all the cards are in awful shape (torn up cardboard, yellowed bubbles, etc.) even though the cars inside seem to be okay. I'm not an on-card collector, but if I was, I would definitely take issue with someone asking $5 for a mainline Deora II on a card that looks like it's been shoved in the corner of someone's shed for years. I'll have to get a picture of that carriage next time I end up at that store.

Can't say for any thrift/antique stores-unfortunately don't have any close in my area, but one thing that has been bugging me lately is how the local Walmart seems to handle their basic HW cars. The pegs they're supposed to go on are always filled to like a 10th of the capacity they can fully hold and the rest are just dumped into bins, which are a time-consuming chore to look through and the cards are more prone to damage. Despite that, just down the same aisle the premium HWs are nearly overflowing on the pegs. I know the basics aren't selling out that quickly either, I've seen mostly the same cars on the pegs for weeks, always barely filled.

Can you guys help? There was a toy where a car transforms when you press a button on top of it. The tires and the chassis surrounding the tires extended and the doors flipped up looking like wings.

...And here's the He-man version. These were sitting at the same store for years. My friend who used to worked there (quit a year ago) remembered stocking them and thought a flesh-coloring was extremely repulsive.

It looks like something George Barris would build out of a modern Dodge Charger. Imagine one of these He-manmobiles rolling down the road with What's Up by 4 Non Blondes blaring on the speakers.

There's an easter egg on the He-man character car. His sword and shield are molded behind the seats. It's not very easy to see, and the only way to get a clear image was by shining a light through the windshield.

The Teela character car has tailights like a Ferrari 308, but the body looks a little more like Ferrari Dino GT. The exhaust pipes even line up with either car. Overall it looks like a hybrid of those 2 cars that got George Barris'd into the Teelamobile.

The roof is supposed to look like a bird's head.
