Now that i look at this image. You could easily use the nanmu raptors as JP style Utahraptors and the Carnotaurus as the ones from the novel since they were stated to only be 7 feet tall.
You would require massive balls to repaint such beautiful figures tho

As scummy as it sounds, just get another one in-box as precaution. Spino will always be in demand, and it is not actually that hard to get. Target refreshes inventory every midnight, at least for me without fail I was able to see HC Spino either available for shipping or pickup every morning. After securing a mint copy, you can go ahead with the wash and even adding the blues on the sail.

Rebirth is tracking for a pretty big opening weekend and film's budget was only $180 Mil. (Vs Superman's $363 Mil. budget and FF's $250 Mil. budget). So looks like we'll be getting JP/W toys for a long time

IMO whenever they make a marine reptile it seems to have better quality and more effort put into it than your average Mattel theropod carnivore. The Torvoneustes in the Rebirth frenzy pack line looks really cool, albeit a bit odd with rear flippers that are larger than the front ones. They aren't recent, but there was a Dakosaurus and Nothosaurus that also look nice. In the larger size toys they have Styxosaurus from the Chaos Theory line that is still around in some places, and in the past they've done Kronosaurus, Elasmosaurus, Liopleurodon and Plesiosaurus. Might be some other species i'm forgetting.

While it wouldn't fall in the under appreciated category, the Rebirth Mosasaurus toys look pretty cool and are more realistic than the previous Jurassic World Mosasaurus design.

Troodon arrived early today, and while I really like it, it feels way out if scale with the line, even more than the juvenille rex. It's bigger than the raptors and the Dilo.
>>11455268
I missed some of the early figures in the line so I cant say anything about them, but of the onse I have, I'd say it's a tie between the Giga and Spino with the Allosaurus coming in a close 3rd.

Iโ€™d like to see fish, amphibians, and the things in-between like Tiktaalik. Prionasuchus could be the same sub-line that most of the non-Mosasaurus sea reptiles have been made in. Dunkleosteus would totally work with JW line, though how they choose to do the body will be a bit tricky (newest estimations of size/shape or the classic versions with shark-like or stout eel-like tail).

Other than that, keep the non-dino and non-pterosaur reptiles coming, the Triassic had so many fun and weird dead-ends. That and maybe a revised Estemmenosuchus.

what a strange video.
The Legacy collection is still going strong and releases all sorts of vehicles so I don't know what he's complaining about with that. His crying about the Hammond Collection was really bizarre since he doesn't address that they have much better articulation that the LC figures and generally better deco. Like I expected him to complain about how the the JP1 Hammond Collection figures are inferior to the figures from later movies, but he doesn't even do that. The exclusive this is also such a goofy complaint, because most of the "exclusive" are just figures with slightly different deco from mainline figures or figures that no one other than hardline collectors would actually want.

He has set ways of thinking and cant go outside of it. He considers HeMan Origins a failure because they haven't released all the original serise figures yet, and considers them doing things like 200X wasted slots and "wasting collectors time". Because he can't wrap around other people wanting things he doesn't, and he doesn't understand that people constantly talking about the original figures getting released means the line is constantly being talked about.
He's autistic, like actually autistic not the insult, and it should be taken into account when watching his content

He's always been an ass making snarky comments like that. A lot of his critiques make no sense.

Humans - HC is better than LC in every way.
Dinos - HC is getting better, the Giga and Spino are legit good Dino figures.
Vehicles - We need the Ingen Helicopter, Trailer and Humvee Snagger maybe some hunter tents and a JP3 Airplane and Boat.
Playsets - Raptor pen, Visitor Center playset, fence pieces

Mattel is putting out original trilogy stuff, I am a bit annoyed we haven't gotten an HC Gennaro and Harding yet, (I doubt we'll get the kids) but we're getting some cool TLW stuff.

And for JP3

Billy Brenan with Hang Glider and Pteranodon nest with some eggs and hatchlings would be kick ass.
Kirby family with Boat
Just give us Nash, Cooper and Udesky with the Plane

And don't forget that Jurassic World, under Mattel, is an evergreen toyline. So far as I can remember, Mattel has had a new sauropod on shelves (in Targets at least) every year since they debuted in 2018. The last time a Brachiosaur was on shelves was somewhere in 2019-2021. No matter how you slice it, it's a sensible double-dip, if you want to call it that - much like keeping T. rexes and raptors on shelves, or how Jakks Pacific has a Sonic in every wave of their Sonic line.

It seems the tariffs are taking care of the shotty figure companies, never forget picrel. Pains me see BOTM being a small company going under but they're really not great value even if the sculpts are great. The bad paint jobs and terrible stability and inconsistent articulation along with horrific prices are not doing them any favors.

Hey guys, random but would anybody happen to know what dinosaur toy is being described in this post?
I tried virtually everything to search for it but nothingโ€™s come up, I think it might have been from a more obscure brand.

If I remember correctly one of the sounds made was of the T-Rex breaking out (loud banging on metal sound) followed by the roar of the T-Rex from Jurassic Park (the last one it does after knocking the Ford down into its enclosure). I think the T-Rex might have been orange but itโ€™s been years since Iโ€™ve seen it, I got it in the early 2000โ€™s at Wal-Mart.

>JWR
I'm sorry but the Mosa and the river boat scenes are some of the best in the franchise if not the best. I love the Mosa so much man, I cannot be objective about it in the slightest. I won't talk about any other scenes to avoid spoilers.
>LW
The Buck and Doe, the Game Trail, the Stego defense of their baby, and the hunt in the long grass are iconic, and I will never forget the last scene with the Rex family and the Pteranodon
>JP
The Tyrannosaurus break out and the Gallimimus hunt are so good, and I love both the scenes with the Brachs
>JP3
The pteranodon cage is good, and even though I generally don't like how smart the raptors are, they look great and the scenes with them on the hunt are fun.
>JWD
I love the Theri scenes, the Malta escape was a lot of fun, and the scene with the Giga bullying the old female Rex was great I loved how naturalistic if felt. Honestly it has some of the best Dino stuff in the JW trilogy, but it also has some of the worst and has the absolute worst writing
>JWFK
Indoraptor was so cartoony, but in a fun way
>JW
The only scenes I remember are the Mosa eating the baby sitter and the kaiju battle end and of the 3(4?) kaiju battles in the franchise it's the absolute worst. I will never forgive the slow motion raptor run.
>>11467791

Good to hear JWR will be enjoyed by children at least

Also saw the movie yesterday.
It's a lateral move.
Dominion has some of the best dino scenes ever put to film and lots of impressive animatronics and puppets.

Rebirth is slightly more serious, looks pretty, has several excellent water based sequences, and has some great dino kills that are interspaced nicely throughout the movie- much better than the perfectly safe ever growing casts of the last several Jurassic movies, or the nearly bloodless and suspenseless JP3.
But there's not a single puppet or animatronic. Scarjo is a terrible lead, throwing in some minor somber moments in between some quippy carefree happy go lucky plucky schtick that is abysmal and doesn't fit the film at all. The movie also has embarrassing operator/merc status, as none of these people do anything that feels particularly impressive. I'm not saying the movie has to have John Wick level stuntwork, but if half the cast is supposed to be highly trained military mercenaries that command 20 million dollar paychecks you'd think they be able to handle shooting a massive target faster or not having a scientist nerd be able to do literally all the same exact things that they do. There's barely a villain and what there is feels extremely forced.
The movie completely kills the actual Jurassic World, retconning the last three movies in its opening minutes. Why spend 3 movies establishing a new interesting potential setting and then immediately ditch it for "welp I guess it's just back to lone dinosaur islands"?
Apes a ton from the first JP film, especially in the second half. Also feels like a complete dead end for a film, it has nothing going on for expanding the world or sequel opportunities. Feels like a one off spin off of little consequence.

I'd say it's firmly in the middle for Jurassic films, with some very impressive elements but lots of disappointments too.

This might be the best wave of Hammond Collection figures. I wish the Stego had better articulation, the Spino and the Troodon had their claws painted properly, and that the Tiger stripe raptor didn't have the messed up jaw, but even with those minor complaints the wave is really solid.

Jurassic films are known for and remembered by their use of animatronic and puppetry dinos mixed in with digital. It makes revisiting even the pretty bad ones somewhat worthwhile. This new movie, regardless of whether or not people like it or not, has literally none. You don't see anyone rewatching marvel slop from 10 years ago because they like the CGI.

LMFAO, people rewatch Marvel slop from 10 years ago because it was still (mostly) fun and entertaining and plenty of people love to rewatch the shitty CGI slap fest that is the Civil War Airport scene because it was mostly well choreographed.

It is exactly like how they said in the press releases about the films plot months ago. All dinosaurs are dying out because the world's atmosphere is too different. The films' second scene shows the last dinosaur in the entire USA about to die.

They spent 3 movies establishing "Jurassic world" which is at least a relatively unique setting for future films that we've never seen before - a modern environment where dinosaurs live side by side with people in interesting and potentially dangerous ways. The JW trilogy barely capitalized on this, taking two movies to get it there and then barely half of its third movie doing anything with it. And now this movie immediately cans it and switches things back to "oh actually there's just some dinosaurs on a few islands"

This movie ends with no where to go, nothing more for any surviving characters to do, and yet completely kills any chance of another film where dinosaurs are in any way integrated into society or military or the underworld. It feels like a one and done spinoff film where any future installment will have to start completely from scratch and the only plot will yet again be for the 8th time "dinosaurs on island"

I get the trepidation with this. It feels a lot like when people started to get sick of superhero movies the first time around because every superhero movie was an origin story. It wasn't until we really got a bunch of movies into marvel that they started to make some more interesting stories that were pretty different. I was excited to have people with dinosaur pets and dinos in city sewers and shit but now it sounds like that's unlikely.

Please explain to me what's good about ditching the primary plot point that took 3 movies to get to? Look at it realistically. As long as Jurassic movies make money they will make more. Do you want another 8 movies of dinosaur on island shit where it's just rotating search and rescue/maguffin quests like almost all the other films? Or would you like to see the dinosaurs used for something, anything else, like we've seen in like 2 scenes in the entire franchise.

You just have to check Target website. There's almost daily midnight restocks, they might go in/out of stock. Check them early in the morning, and I found that if you're persistent enough you can still get the figures. I saw Spinosaurus and Stego appear for shipping/pickup on/off over the last weeks (Denver area, I was also stalking the site for Switch 2). It might sound obsessive, but checking a website once a day is not really a big deal. I presume it would be the same elsewhere.

TOTALLY WORTH IT BRO...its a gorgeous sculpt without a doubt. I thought spinonigga was gonna be the star, but I'm way more excited about this fucker.
Some bro on the HC reddit even added mouth articulation and it takes it to another level. Mattel, for all their flaws, really hit a home run with stego and spino. If painted properly, they look like maquettes.

Protp: Its a hard firgure to balance, but the key is getting the feet to their maximum forward position so that they can rest flat along the surface.
