Mattel's kind of sidelined the series for a few years now. For the last five years it's been mostly IP tie ins. Batman/DC, Star Wars, Spongebob, Jurassic Park. I miss the original subthemes. Last I saw they had a subline with samurai gorillas but I dont think it lasted long. It also seems like those XL releases never saw U.S. retail.

I also wish they'ed just go whole hog with MOTU and Street Sharks imaginext series

I enjoy imaginest, i like the figures and they are cheap enough to grab one if it catches your eye. Im waiting on a new wave of blind bag stuff since i like the fun of blind bags.

Regardless the moderation team here is kooky af and i honestly believe we need someone familiar with both toys and /toy/ helping the board via moderation or janitorial duties. Anyone of us wouldve quickly understood what was happening and pruned all but the most active of those threads. Just my thought on the matter and i apologize for being off topic.

Anyone have any of the jurassic park imaginext toys? Does anyone wish they would leave the licensed stuff alone and go back to more original designs or homages like they did several years back?

We have a bunch. They’ve kind of nosedived lately but the older ones are cool. Really like the anklyo with the spin-top body/tail.

Both are cool. The blind bags from a few years back with Microman and MUSCLE and all that were awesome. They were even able to sneak Abby Arcane in that way. But both are great, the DC stuff has been fun and I had high hopes for Star Wars, though that doesn’t appear to be a main line kind of thing now. Loved the horror themed sets too.

Dunno. I don’t even know a good place to get Imaginext news other than mygrodd, which didn’t get updated for like a year. As for MotU, no idea. Seems like an obvious thing, but afaik there’s only ever been an XL He-Man.

I just missed these i think, i stumbled on to the line with stuff like the grim reaper which was series 9 it looks like. It was around the lockdowns so things were odd and i was just getting into toys.
Jeez, to think there was a time i didnt visit this board is a funny thought.

The original mini figures from pre 2010 were cooler like the original knights and pirates sets.

this but also why did they do away with the whole modular building aspect of it. a lot of the fun when i was a kid was mixing sets together to make big fuck you castle forts and then they turned it into prebuilt playsets
