Is it even possible to fully stop buying toys or do we just slow down between binges?

>Find a comicbook shop that trades
>find old or disappointing figures you don’t want anymore
>trade 2 used figures or 1 rare used figure for 1 new one
I haven’t bought a toy in 2 years with the strategy and I never run out of space
I also saved up enough money for a nice Honda cruiser

you will slow down but you will never not be an addict. what holds me back is I believe its cringe to be one of those guys with shelves loaded with toys. I dont put my toys on shelves I put them on my bed's headboard and some floating shelves around my bed. having columns and columns of toys looks ugly and mentally ill. I think I will eventually sell the ones I grow less fond of and trade up

Nah bro. You may take breaks, some times even years or decades but like any fiend the plastic crack brings us all back. Because at the end of the day toys are fucking great!

This happened to me like a decade ago. No store had anything of interest. I didn't even do preorders. If I did want anything, it wasn't out yet. My "buy only what I want" philosophy worked so well that I felt completely satisfied and free. But then I'd go to ebay to browse for old toys, go to Ross for some surprise find, discount or custom fodder, or would even throw in a kinder surprise thing with my groceries once in a while. Thing is, I was content, but I still had that itch to buy something. I would focus more on games, movies, or watching a stadium sport, but I still wanted to buy "phantom toys". pic very related

I think the next one I buy will be the last. Then I'll stop.

I miss the good ol' days. I didn't know what/toy was until people started telling me I was all over it. Then I took suggestions from anons here for customs (Anonymous, Xenu, etc) and really got into trouble! Man....I want to go back to a simpler time...

I agree with this, I think a ton of loaded shelves looks bad and it's better to have a small and tasteful spaced out collection. I try to restrain myself from getting too much and be selective but sometimes it can't be helped and I end up with some stuff I don't need. But usually I will eventually sell it off and downsize.

But yeah >>11461791 (OP) I'm 25 and have been getting toys all my life. It does feel like an addiction. Longest I went without getting anything was high school when I thought it was cringe but then I started again in college. First it was Lego, then transformers, then Star Wars figures, and now after selling all that I'm on anime figures. Wonder if I’ll ever stop completely
