Sorry for the late thread, thought it'd last a bit longer and was hoping for another livestream announcement. Here's the Beach Head & Quick Kick render for anyone who missed it, the only bit of news from the last couple weeks
Riot Police are still MIA, hopefully they go up soon and aren't outright cancelled.
For some good news, the Rattler should be shipping soon.

>>11467287more important than classishit
>>11467275So how much will the individual figures go for this time?
>>11467341Probably ~$60 for the gunner, ~$80-100 for Baroness, and ~$150 for WW.
It's been five years, when is Classified going to get an actual collab? They shit the bed on the 30th Anniversary of GI Joe x Street Fighters. TMNT out there selling themselves like a hooker on Friday night with their collabs, perfect for the Ninja Force. TF GI Joe comics in full swing and only Orings get in on the action. Hasbro has the Marvel license yet hasn't utilized it for anything.
>>11467350Optics probably. Hasbro wouldn't put figures of police officers up for sale because a bunch of retards in California supporting criminals. And now the shit going on with Iran probably means nobody wants to be associated with military stuff either. That being said, I'm surprised more didn't happen with their Fortnite collaboration.
>>11467350Punisher would be cool.
>>11467350>not like thisI want toys, not digital microtransactions.
>>11467741>no leotard for ScarlettOdd, considering the Cammy skin got one (even though it was censored). Still more than Fortnite got surprisingly.
>>11467768That's sick. What's being used for the environment?
>>11467785Using parts from the Fresh Retro Scene in a Box sets.
>>11467769I could go for a more Resolute designed Scarlett style outfit
>>11467741>Destro as DoomfistI kinda knew they were gonna do that. Though CC as Reaper is kind of a surprise.
>>11467741Kinda sad to see the playerbase's reaction to this, people see it as lame or they don't even know what GI Joe is.
>>11467350I'd Love to see MASK figures in Classified scale..

Do you guys think we're gonna get a retro cardback release of Roadblock? They already have all the toolings from the Tiger Force two pack variant.
>>11468113I think we'd sooner get a V2, but if they did do a retro V1, I'd want some new parts like pinless legs and the new HD arms
>>11468113Anything is possible.
Really wish Gridiron would do those ruck frames by themselves,
javascript:quote('11467165');
GIMME A HELL YEAH
>>11467768MMMM, that's bad ass.
>>11467973Not really surprising. The movies shat the bed and the old animated cartoon is only good for the porkchop memes. So the only way zoomers can find out what makes G.I.Joe great is by reading the middle years of an obscure 80s comic series where both the beginning and tail ends are boring lame shit. They need to be motivated to wade through years of shit to get to the good parts while everyone is telling them the series jumps the shark so there's no payoff. At the same the whole legacy of the IP makes it sound like some ultra patriotic support the troops stuff which is very uncool to that generation.
Or they can get into collecting plastic.
>>11468139I'm pretty sure they have all the toolings they'd need to go fully pinless on a retro carded Roadblock, which would help distinguish him a little from the previous almost-retro Roadblock. I bought the Gridiron upgrade kit for him and I'm quite happy with how he looks on the shelf, although the Gridiron weapons are mad of resin and definitely not durable enough for a kid to play with.
>>11468421That's really been the major issue with GI Joe, is no real media in the last like 30 years to support the toyline(s). The movies have all blown, the comics have been middling for a long time, and any recent cartoons seem to have just done more to damage the brand than help it.
If anything, the gung-ho military roots and boomers who only care about the OG 13 are pretty much what hold it back. Even if we don't count all of the SUPER crazy shit like space mutants, bio zombies and whatnot, GI Joe still has shit kids love like robots, ninjas, and other stuff.
As a kid in the late 80s/early 90s, I never even gave a shit about any of the sources like the comics or cartoons, I just thought the figures and characters looked really cool, and it helped at the time that they were $2-$3. And the toyline back then had a huge presence on store shelves. Now a day, you're lucky if you can go to ten stores, and find maybe a peg warmer or two across all of them.
>>11467350Be careful what you ask for.
>>11468439call of duty is one of the biggest video game series for decades. the country has been at war off and on since the 2000s. a military line isnt out of place at all, the problem is they havent written one in a long time. gi joe sigma six was an anime, renegades was sort of A Team ish, the comics have been boring, and the movies were half crap, half the rock. gi joe is mismanaged and I think it has to do with the fact that they never committed to giving us a more straight forward military piece of media with some fantastical cobra elements
>>11468439The GI Joe animated movies did well enough. The first one justified making a second one and the second one justified making an entire TV series.
But yeah, like
>>11468486 says, the GI Joe brand is mismanaged. Hasbro doesn't want to commit to making a military action show, despite the popularity it had that even super anti-war/military sentiment couldn't kill the 00s relaunch. Even Obama being anti-war still didn't kill GI Joe for the 25th Anniversary line, which is one of Hasbro's strongest launches that Paramount justified ploughing ahead with the live action movie.
>>11468486>call of duty is one of the biggest video game series for decades.CoD wouldn't translate to people wanting to buy these specific characters and figures, though.
>the country has been at war off and on since the 2000s. a military line isnt out of place at allAre you kidding me? In modern times, many people heavily see the Military, authority, or even the Police as very, very unfavorable. There's no way they could market the line by selling it on the graces of the military. They'd probably have to sell it by framing it in a sci-fi or fantastical way anyway. It isn't the 60s/70s/80s/or even 90s where people actually supported the military and its operations, especially when some people feel like in current days, the military is just a command or two away from a takeover or turning us into a police state.
Hell, Hasbro chickened out and cancelled the livestream pretty much entirely on the fact that they were going to show off those riot gear police figures.
Really, their offerings of movies, games, comics, and cartoons have all been kind of flubbed in probably the last decade. Its kind of amazing that the Classified has lasted as long as it has, when it looked the line line was going to be axed in its first year, barely two dozen figures in.
>>1146849725th anni was held in high regard because it was such a good modernization of the old figures. I'll admit its been a long time since I've seen the first live action GI Joe movie, but I remember it leaning quite a bit more into the sci-fi elements, and then the second movie felt a lot more military based.
>>11468498>CoD wouldn't translate to people wanting to buy these specific characters and figures, though.bullshit.
>Are you kidding me?no. do you see people boycotting gi joe in walmart? or the movie? does the gi joe video game, from ANY generation, get flack? no. thats just horse shit from fans speculating. the truth is this: hasbro sucks at promoting it. ever since they acquired star wars and then marvel, gi joe has not been a priority. they do the least. they fumble the ball. and when they do put anything out, its not a military themed series as much as it is something else, with joes in it.
>Hell, Hasbro chickened out and cancelled the livestream pretty much entirely on the fact that they were going to show off those riot gear police figures.considering the riots in LA was happening at that moment, that was not the best time to put it out. however, youre assuming that the figures are lost forever, when we dont know if thats the case. if they were scared of making police officers and soliders, then why do they make official the tributes to the soldiers? actual pilot and marine figures. the thing is always blown out of proportion by paranoid fans. gi joe doesnt get pitchforks from anybody BUT the fans, and that usually goes for their shitty woke comics, poor figure choice for releases, redundant dukes, and diverging from what people loved about the original RAH series. only now the fans are older and dont care as much anymore so they cater to the 6 inch fans. still, hasbro doesnt care about gi joe as much as they do the big two, marvel and star wars
>>11468497>the GI Joe brand is mismanaged. Hasbro doesn't want to commit to making a military action show, despite the popularity it had that even super anti-war/military sentiment couldn't kill the 00s relaunchI see plenty of series for star wars, yes that is not from hasbro but its such an easy lay up for them its not even a joke. star wars has constant shows, cartoons, and television and internet presence. they dont do anything for gi joe. in fact they even let hot properties like transformers sit in limbo. hasbro is clueless and its clear that whoever runs it, is focused on other properties.
>>11468497>the GI Joe brand is mismanaged. Hasbro doesn't want to commit to making a military action show, despite the popularity it had that even super anti-war/military sentiment couldn't kill the 00s relaunchexactly. I see plenty of streaming series for star wars, movies, etc. yes that is not from hasbro, but the property is such an easy lay up for them its not even a joke. star wars has constant shows, cartoons, and television and internet presence in rotation. and with all of that, they dont do anything for gi joe. in fact they even let hot properties like transformers sit in limbo. hasbro is clueless on gi joe and its clear that whoever runs it, is focused on other properties.
>>11468500>but I remember it leaning quite a bit more into the sci-fi elements, and then the second movie felt a lot more military based.thats how it was. the first was sci-fi james bondish, and the second was more of an action flick with some military guys on the run. needless to say, the second had been more well received than the first. funny that they never got the sequel, despite landing two big action movie stars and a great director who understood gi joe better than the last one. instead we got snake eyes, ten years later, which didnt please anybody
>>11468527>gi joe doesnt get pitchforks from anybody BUT the fansId add this too: we dont get a hooded cobra commander because of someone in hasbro. thats it. its not like comic fans and toy fans would cancel gi joe for it. red skull and hydra are basically super nazis, and no one cares. cobra commander and gi joe are being sabotaged by the dickheads in hasbro who dont like it and dont understand it.
even indiana jones, from hasbro, has made NAZI characters. legos made a figure with the nazi logo on it for indiana jones once. no one did shit. cobra commander in a blue hood is not going to piss anybody off. gi joe is not actually persecuted into cultural cancellation by outraged toy collectors and moms, its held back by its management. they have to be doofuses
>>11468498>In modern times, many people heavily see the Military, authority, or even the Police as very, very unfavorable. You do realize that the 00s was full of anti-war rhetoric, right? Like the biggest anti-war movement since the 60s/70s. Today doesn't even compare to the hate the military was getting back then.
And GI Joe was THRIVING while everyone was hating on Bush's Team America. Nevermind lines like 21st Century, Unimax, etc etc were also enjoying big sales at Walmarts and Targets. See pic in being able to get super high quality military vehicles for cheap to NOTHING today.
Again, the anti-military shit was going all the way into Obama's presidency, where his platform was about getting our military out of other country's business.
>Hasbro chickened out and cancelled the livestreamThat's on Hasbro. Again, they're mismanaging GI Joe for the twitter karens, instead of caring about what children want to see (Call of Duty, Overwatch, Rainbow Six, etc). Hasbro is making GI Joe irrelevant, while military media continues being loved with each new generation and new military franchises become popular.
>>11468500The GI Joe films were shit. They tried to make GI Joe an international thing and the designs were boring as fuck. The first movie line didn't really have any good villain figures either, which is insane to think about.
>>11468529to be fair, the streaming wars (netflix, disney+, hbo go, hulu, etc) is killing media and the cartoon industry is dying because of that. So there's not a lot of opportunities to create new shows like in the 10s and before.
Likely just an uploaded video today since no announcment or anything from the GI Joe team since COPS filmed on location memes poured over the social media. Hopefully we get to see all unlocks so it will get all unlocked in 48hours again.
>>11468607This Snake Eyes version has a high chance of being a tier since he's riding shotgun on the boxart for Snow Cat. Polar Bear will likely be a Pulse Exclusive for 2026. We won't see 90's era vehicles until 2030s.
>>11468586>$40 Super Cobra I never did see one of those in stores. I thought they were at the $70 price point this entire time.
>>11468535Battle Helment Cobra Commander > Hooded Cobra Commander
He looks like a scared ghost monster from Pac-Man
So is there no Fanstream today?
No reveal on the HasLab?
>>11468717Nothin so far, they got another 5 days I guess. Thinking there's more to this than just a postponed police figure.
>>11468717Since there was no announcement, there'll be no livestream. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a prerecorded rattler unboxing in a half hour though. Maybe with another haslab hint at the end.
>>11468607I can't wrap my head around doing the Snow Cat. So specialized and not nearly as iconic as the HISS, Dragonfly, or Rattler. Why wouldn't they do the MOBAT?
>>11468740MOBAT looks to much like a generic army tank. Ramen Toys already has that covered anyways and people who wanted a tanks already got it. Snow Cat on the other hand screams GI Joe. Same with the other HasLabs. It has bits of real military with added scifi bits.
>>11468726https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiKAkA-EtlU
Called it. Going to scan it for news,
>>11468779Yeah, snow cat announced at the end. Campaign launches next week.
>>11468779I want that Baroness so fucking bad. I really hope I don't have to pay over 100 to get it
>>11468781Really? I guess that explains the few snow themed figures from a while back. Now we really need a few more snow joes and cobra troopers.
>>11468787Same. Time to start stalking ebay and facebook groups praying to get lucky.
>>11468787>>11468804One presold for $85, so there's a data point.
>>11468816I won't pay that much, but I bet most go for 100+
>>11468816>>11468820I'd pay 85 desu, probably dumb to since they'll likely reuse the mold at some point, but they will definitely leave out all those sexy hair options.
>>11468757Lol the original 13 are as GI Joe as it gets. I understand what you're saying about the Snow CAT, but Steeler and the Mobat are almost as cool as the Skystriker and Ace. Nobody said anything about the Skystriker not being "Gi Joe enough" because it's based on a Tomcat, and therefore isn't sci-fi enough. People love things that are cool, regardless if it's weird and sci-fi or not. The brand has a place for both, and I wish the newer fans would stop trying to discourage the standard military stuff by saying something is not Gi Joe enough. The further the line went out into sci-fi land the worse it did, anyway. Still it has its place. It doesn't have to be a one to one realistic military line, and the Snow CAT IS cool, but a balance is fine. The divide between military toy fans and sci-fi fans doesn't have to be so extreme that we try to distance Gi Joe from either.
Is this anti-wokeness in my vidya. A red head white girl replacing a minority character?
CC as Reaper doesn't feel right though.
>>11468861What are you talking about. Freja is a red-headed dane. And they gave the Destro skin to an African black.
>>11468864Not entirely but I'm not sure who else it could have been.
An interview with some Blizzard people about how they designed the collab and also why they chose G.I.Joe in the first place.
https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/overwatch-2-new-gi-joe-collab-interview-june-2025/
Apparently, their art director is a Joe fan and they simply thought it would be a good fit for the game even if it's not a mega popular thing.
>>11468861Danish people are a minority?
>>11468864>doesn't feel rightI agree, but aren't Overwatch skins always based on aesthetics alone? Coat and a mask is easy to sell. I just can't believe they omitted a Soldier 76 Duke, like it's the most obvious pick and it would even out the sides. I have to imagine someone at hasbro just hates fags and barred it from happening
>>11468931S76 has just had two collab skins in a row. And while I agree it seemed like a no brainer I think Duke would be a bit boring to people who are not invested in G.I.Joe lore. Hell I'm into G.I.Joe and I think he's boring. He's just a generic army guy. S76 already has several skins like that.
>>11468870>What are you talking about. Freja is a red-headed dane. And they gave the Destro skin to an African black.my bad, i've been out of OW since Rivals came out and thought this was a skin for the sunbeam girl. din't know they added new dlc characters since then.
>>11468870>Not entirely but I'm not sure who else it could have been.Ramatra but using the silver armored looked instead of classic since the joes aren't using their classic looks either.
>>11468946I can see how you would make that mistake. Their capes are very similar. This one is an aerial sniper and she's just as hated as that sounds like.
When she was released I saw the crossbow and red hair and jokingly said somewhere they must have made her just for a G.I.Joe collab. Little did I know.
So is the SWAT officer just not coming out?
>>11468757As cool as the Ramen tank is, I'm sure Hasbro could've made a much nicer tank, especially on a Haslab Budget. It probably wouldn't have been as big, but I'm sure the details on it would've been fantastic. But since Hasbro ain't doing a tank, guess Ramen is the only way to go.
>>11468779>>11468781Oh good, I'll have no problems skipping this one.
>>11468840I mean, look at how successful the Dragonfly was and that's very much a generic looking, and fairly outdated, helicopter. I personally think the Mobat is very much iconic for Joes, and while grounded in reality is still sci-fi enough to fit the line with it's very unique double turret design.
>>11468864Yea, CC as "Double Gun Action Guy" just doesn't work for me. I get why they wanted him in the collab, but there has to be a better choice for him. But I'm so uninformed about current OW stuff I wouldn't have any better recommendations other then the hamster in the ball with it skinned as a Trouble Bubble.
>>11467973>used to play OW>even thought that GI Joe could learn something from OW during its heyday before it shat the bed>now thisMan, I would've unironically continued playing if they pulled this crossover back in the day.
>>11468960Likely recalled and being put into cobra themed packaging
>>11469056I never cared for OW as a game myself, but I do enjoy a lot of the character designs. I was very much excited when Hasbro announced they were doing OW figures...and subsequently very disappointed when we saw the results. I question how much of it was on Hasbro and how much of it was on Blizzard, because we know Hasbro can put out some great stuff but that wasn't the first time Blizzard tanked a toyline.
Would love to see Hasbro try again with this line, we know they can do toony video game characters well because their Fortnite stuff was fantastic. Pricepoints, packaging and accessory counts aside, the actual figures they put out for that line were great and it got cut short way too soon as well.
Also, after looking it up, Cobra Commander should've been that robot dude with the stick. Just make his alternate mode CC's Battle Armor with some exo suit arms and it would've been a way better fit then making him Reaper.
>>11467973Probably because the people still playing OW are a bunch of faggots that care more about a character having certain pronouns
>>11468924No Soldier76 as Duke to make it an even 6? That seems weird.
>>11469440Only good part of Overwatch.
I cant forget someone's post on some forum years ago, on how baroness was probably a stinky euro hippy with unshaved arms and legs because she was a rich feminist nerd protesting against the powers that be.
>>11469506Imagine the smell of her feet after a multi-hour flight in the rattler.
>>11469506While it is true she's a Euro hippy, she's a *posh* richbitch Eurohippy. There's no way she doesn't know how to make full use of her sexuality, and that would include being as clean as possible. She's not wearing that catsuit and those heels just for fun afterall, her looks are just as much of a weapon as any sub machinegun on her hip.
>>11469146You will never be Aryan
>>11468694>Buh-buh-but muh klan hood, the kkk is good, actually!DDS incoming
>>11468757>the mobat is just a generic army tank>but the other haslabs aren't>just disregard that the rattler and dragonfly are carbon copies of their real life counterpartsnice bait
>>11469569Dragonfly sure, but the Rattler at least has a somewhat unique look either way.
>>11468924>>11469440Can't wait for porn of Baroness and Scarlett soon
The new SNAKE armor is cool, but part of me does wish we'd gotten a silly standard size version.
>>11469536She probably had changed since her college years of burning bras and diverted her anger into fucking Destro.
>>11469569Both of those are stylized versions of their real life counterparts. DF tail for example makes it more fantasy looking because that shit wont work in real life for that type of helicopter. Rattler has a gunner on top and a tail engine.
Anyway, heres badly cropped screen grabs of Snowcat Haslab.
>>11470035Imagine how terrible that will look in a few years when it yellows like white plastic likes to do.
>>11470054Have to dunk it in a bathtub full of hydrogen peroxide lol
>>11470035I still just canโt wrap my mind around why they chose the snowcat when thereโs so many other vehicles that arenโt weather themed. They must just be afraid to go over a specific price.
>>11470066My guess is they'll inclue 4 sets of extra tires like that screen shot of the cartoon. it'll make all terrain. They'll probbaly make the missile turret modular and you can add a gunner turret. Lot's of thing they can add the make it a valid Haslab.
>>11470066Based on things he's said in streams over the years, I'm pretty sure Lenny has way too much control over the line and a lot of the questionable decisions are literally just things he thought would be cool when he was a kid. Snow Cat was probably just his favorite Joe ground vehicle. Nothing more complicated than that.
>>11469510 I still want the Renegades Battle Armor.
>>11470156Hey if I was in charge of the line I would do the same thing and you'd all have to put up with a HasLab BUGG or DEMON
>>11470172brother I would much rather have the BUGG or the POGO than most of the vehicles they are picking how do we get you hired
>>11470172I would love a DEMON, and more IG content to justify having a shelf for it
>>11470178>POGOWould be based but I see more in the $65 or $100 Hasbro Pulse exclusive rather than a HasLab contender
>>11470178All in due time bro. The team is drip feeding up late 80s/ early 90s Joes while they finish out the OG. I'm beeing patient for when they do a Cobra Rage Haslab and the Badger Pulse Exclusive. Those two were my main GI Joe vehicles. The Earthquake is also on my list. It's so stupid and colors are insane.
>>11470196Never seen this before but the wheels make it awesome
>>11470196One of my favorites too. For whatever reason I made it into a crimson guard vehicle as a kid. I'd do the same with a classified one now.
>>11470196 And versatile.
>>11470196I liked this vehicle a lot too as a kid, and would definitely get it.
Funny, I have to laugh looking at the art though. Something I always loved about how odd and ridiculous the old art looked on Joe figures and vehicles.
>Every possible gun everywhere firing in every which direction.>Driver popping out to also fire his gun.>Night Creeper looks sort of bored>"Eh...I'll fire my crossbow, I guess....">Awkwardly aiming it towards the other guys in the vehicle.
Acid Rain World figures have gotten up to like $40-$60ish range for 1:18 scale. They're intending to also do 1:12 scale so my question is how much would ya'll play for a 6" figure?

>>11470196>>11470231>>11470257This thing just has the right amounts of real life cool concepts with an absurd amount of straight up crazy. Honestly didn't even know about this thing as a kid, but after getting a PoC re-release version, it's easily one of my favorite Cobra vehicles. My only gripe about it is the same gripe I have with almost every Joe vehicle, and that's the open, unprotected turret. But the rest of this thing is just a fun, beastly little tank car thing that's literally the designers throwing everything they can at a wall and seeing what sticks.
What's really funny to me is that this is actually my girlfriends.
>>11470201It was a main Cobra vehicle during the 90s show. The Dominator would be another cool Haslab.
https://youtu.be/hxdXauE8XRs
>>11470307I kinda wanna say the Dominator could be a $100 Hasbro Pulse exclusive
>>11470307Mmmm yes good more Iron please
>>11468992>I personally think the Mobat is very much iconic for Joes, and while grounded in reality is still sci-fi enough to fit the line with it's very unique double turret design. As big GI Joe tanks go, I like the Mauler better than the Mobat, but being the first Joe tank from the first year is always going to make the Mobat better known and more popular, and it came with Steeler, one of the vehicle drivers that's probably a lot more in demand than most of the later Joe drivers are.
>>11470035Any guesses at what figures will get packed with the Snowcat alongside Frostbite? I want a Classified Blizzard, hope he doesn't get stuck in a Haslab project.
>>11470628Once a Man Cobra Commander
>>11470630Movie Royal Guard
>>11470196>The Earthquake is also on my list. It's so stupid and colors are insane.I remember when someone here posted pics of it years ago, and the comments about

>>11468615. And for the woman joe fig, this old concept using some new parts. final tier for 30,000 backers is an articulated baby polar bear.
>>11469975Waiting for a re issue of SOME variety or just a straight re release. I missed alot of the latter part of last years releases and it just kinda bummed me out as a toy collector, i just wanna go back to enjoying toys instead.
>>11470185Not just IG, weve got crimson versions and python patrol that could be built up further.
>>11470190>>11470187Pogo would be cool but itd be a nice unlock for an imaginary terrordome haslab. I think deep six and a snarc would be a fun affordable haslab idea. I like dictator and overlord and we still need zanzibar to finish out the dreadnoks so why not him and the air skiff? Zartan and thar swamp bike maybe?
>>11470292The Rage is supposed to be an 'urban combat vehicle', which probably means squads of Alley Vipers should be accompanied by them.
And is that blue vehicle on the left side of your pic that Avengers tank from one of Hasbro's Marvel lines?
>>11470338>Destro made his own MASK-style transforming vehicle
>>11470646If Zartan was coming out now he would 100% be packaged with the swamp bike
>>11470626I know not many here care for these but I really like them. I just wish they'd start doing more of the big named characters, it feels like they're only throwing one in a wave and I'm afraid this will die before they ever get around to redoing them.
>>11470682I don't care about them but I'm hoping they do that for you too anon
>>11470682I LOVE 1/18!!!!
>>11470626I love the new O-ring joes and I've been collecting them. I just wish they were priced to where kids could buy them and they came with more accessories. It's kind of frustrating because I feel like Hasbro could have made these themselves and gotten them at a more mass-market friendly price but they haven't known their head from their ass with 1:18 ever since they canceled the 25A line, which really ended after 50th Anniversary because Retro Collection was a half-assed reissue with only a few improvements.

>>11468740>>11468607An arctic vehicle isn't really appealing to me either. I'm not entirely convinced that Ramen's tank will be a match for Hasbro's in terms of detailing and quality, but the Snow Cat just isn't an icon to me. I didn't have one when I was a kid, it wasn't featured heavily in the cartoon, and it's also a niche theme. Snow vehicles are awesome to play with in the snow but not in the middle of summer or in a hot climate, and there aren't that many Joes that look good in a winter climate, at least not in the Classified line.
I'm not saying that I'm gonna skip out on it yet but the previous three vehicles gave me that "I've gotta have it" feeling as soon as I found out, but the Snow Cat doesn't do that for me. It's going to be a much harder decision whether or not to get one, and maybe I'll have to give that Ramen tank a second look and buy some GI Joe stickers for it if the Snow Cat is a pass for me.

>>11470645Fuck that, if they're gonna be charging $300 for the Snow Cat it should include the Polar Bear snowmobile as a bonus vehicle.
>>11470745I could see them doing a diorama set with the Snow Cat, Polar Bear(or two) and then Blizzard, Ice Berg, and maybe a fancy 3rd tier figure like V2 Stalker with the Big Arctic Kayak
>>11470715The ramen tank was probably a good buy if you locked in the early bird pricing. At full price its not really worth it. Just look how simple that is. Looks like a plastic model kit, not a high end toy.
Thoughts on Starduster? Will this ever go on sale or will it be a Snow Job situation where he sells out and skyrockets afterwards?
>>11470782Uhh, why is Starduster kicking a woman in the face?
>>11470782Like the majority of these figures he's great.
>>11470745Snow Cat was bigger than the HISS tank though. It's gonna gonna be the biggest HaslAb vehicle yet.
>>11470781Well, there's that, and if they do a tank next year I'd feel pretty stupid for having bought the Ramen one already.
>>11470622Oh I agree the Mauler was a cooler and better toy, But if either of em were to get Haslab'd, I feel the Mobat would be the better choice. As you said, it's an original item and has a bit more notoriety. But also because it's actually smaller and more compact then a Mauler and would fit the price range of a Haslab much easier. Give it a complete internal overhaul to have an actual working cabin to fit at least a crew of three and you'd have an instant win of a Haslab.
>>11470715>>11470781Yea, kicking myself for not grabbing one while they were cheap. At this point the base tank is Haslab priced, just without the figures included. At this point I'd only splurge on a Ramen tank if they decided to drop the dual laser turret option in tan or green and not just black.
>>11470658Yea, that Rage is loaded up with my Cobra urban combat team, the M.A.D. (Metro Armored Division, a name stolen from the Deviant Mech, which is also part of the team). It's basically a bunch of City focused "Vipers" and a few Shocktroopers lead by Night Adder. Night Viper also joined the squad after he finally came out.
And yes, that little tank is the Goliath Battle Tank from the first Captain America film's toyline. Strip off the stars and stripe decals and it's colors match up with Vipers *really* well. Also got the APC from that line and that acts as a Transport for more heavy infantry Vipers.
>>11470798That's always been one of my biggest gripes about the Snow Cat. Despite it's size and fairly cool looks, it's essentially a two seater vehicle. So much of it is just wasted space that could *easily* have been used for troop transport space or some other kind of play feature. But about 60% of the vehicle is just one large tech greebly panel. Nevermind the fact it's a snow themed vehicle, the fact it takes up so much space but can only really sit two figures makes it one of my least favorite Joe rides.
I was absolutely convinced we were getting either the mobat or mauler this year, and that's why I passed on the ramen one. I'd have gotten it and all the accessories at the early bird pricing if I had known we were getting a snow cat. Now like you say its not worth it, and I'll probably skip on the snow cat unless it has amazing add on figures so I end up with no big joe vehicle this year at all. bummer.
>>11470859My consolation is that I backed the Ghostbusters Ecto 1 last year so it would be financially prudent for me to skip the Snow Cat. The only snow vehicle I have nostalgia for is the Cobra Wolf because I owned one when I was a kid, but nothing about the Snow Cat says "must have" to me. It was featured heavily in one of the miniseries but generally snow themed toys weren't part of my play pattern as a kid. I hardly even owned any Hoth toys from Star Wars.
>>11470870Huh, I wonder if the Snow Cat will even make it
How much are the classic Joe's and vehicles now a days? I like the classifieds but the vehicles take up so much room.
>>11470942Classic Joe vehicles range from $10 to $1000.
Most of the early stuff is 100+ if you want it in decent condition or don't care it doesn't come with its figure.
Personally, I'm more of a fan of the later 80s stuff. So I mainly pay around ~$30 for various vehicles.
Would like the 90s stuff more if they weren't neon.
I guess I'm on the opposite end of most people. I plan on getting the Snowcat, but the Dragonfly and the Rattler were easy passes, because no place to display aerial vehicles that would make them look cool. I feel like there's no point to getting air vehicles if they're just going to be sitting down on a shelf.
Snowcat was one of my favorite vehicles as a kid, even though as someone else mentioned, wish it was built better as a vehicle to haul more figures around. Though, I also wish the HISS could fit at least one or two more troops in the back.
I wonder who the stretch goal figures will be. Kinda kicking myself for not picking up Snow Job, but at least I have a bunch of the deluxe Snow Serpents and some Arctic BATs for adversaries.
>people are actually buying $120 "preorders" for Baroness on ebay
I'm kinda shocked there are little to no in-hand listings yet, I figured there would be a ton of resellfags on the west coast.
>>11471005Most of the HISS figures were going for about $100 at first, but then ended up settling around $40, IIRC. Might be a little more for the Rattler figures, but I still don't anticipate they'll stick that high.
>>11471018Good to know, the only Haslab figure I've bothered to get so far is Glenda and it seemed no one cared about her. Shame Wild Bill is still 120+ though
>>11470989The late 80s and neon is what I grew up with. I think I still have all the vehicles in my attic. Just don't want to go up and check. It's always 120 degrees up there
>>11471005I really want that baroness but 120 is steep.
>>11470913Its best hope is if it's only $200 instead of $300, unless they have some big ass surprise waiting for us, because just a scaled up Snow Cat with more detail probably isn't going to do it for me. I never like feeling indifferent about a GI Joe product, but without actually seeing the prototype that's how I feel about the Snow Cat.
The Hiss and the Firefly were must haves for me as soon as I heard we were getting them, and even the Rattler won me over despite my worries about how big it is, but I don't get that feeling about the Snow Cat at all. I hope it succeeds and I hope we get a tank next year (and maybe a GI Joe jet with Ace the year after that? Fingers crossed?), but I will probably sit this one out, unless, as I said before, the design, the prototype, and the pack in figures blow me away in ways that I was not expecting. Otherwise I don't really see room in my budget or my toy bins for a big snowmobile and a bunch of snow men.
>>11471087I feel like $200 is too low. I expect $300, at least, Probably more...
I wonder how people would feel, though, if they did a stripped-out version similar to how Hasbro did the Ecto-1 Haslab. Though, I feel like the value of the stripped out version wasn't that great. The stripped out version was only $75 less, IIRC, and was missing a ton of stuff.

Uncle anon here, all this talk about feeling burned about not getting a Mobat or Mauler for the Haslab got me thinking about what options I might have for getting a classified scale tank for my nephews. As much as I love 'em, I am not getting them Ramen Toy tanks. Getting them Awe Strikers is already reaching the limit of what I think it'd be reasonable to spend on a Christmas gift for a niece or nephew, and I've also got 5 nieces who all deserve nice things too so I can't spoil the boys too much (they're from two different sets of parents too, so it's not like they're brothers who can share).
I've gotten an idea worming its way into my head that I could scratch build them some tanks, though. I've done a lot of models and custom toys before and I have a 3D printer. The easiest option would be to just get the Classified-scale Mobat model off of Cults3D and make printer go whrrrr, but maybe a more fun option for both me and the kids would be to scale it up a bit more and at least partially build the body out of wood so that a tank crew can go inside. Maybe even use something bigger than the Mobat, like a Bradley Fighting Vehicle, the Mauler or even a scaled down M1 Abrams playing the part of a Patriot Grizzly as the jumping off point. If it's a scratch build I can just scale up and modify the parts of any printable Tank model so that they'll fit onto whatever body I build out, and then rig up a track system around some off the shelf RC tank tracks. I'll have to think about it some more but if I could do it at a cheap enough price it'd be worth the labor.
Or I should just work a few extra hours and get them the Ramen tanks instead of spending weeks designing and building something. Maybe I'm just going crazy, I don't know. Please help.
>>11471106I'm not really sure what there is to strip out. The value added stuff like more figures, and possibly a bonus small vehicle is the stuff that would make the fence sitters actually want to back it. In principle it's not a bad idea to have two offerings with one being slightly cheaper but I'm not sure how it'd help in this case when the problem is that the vehicle itself is more niche with it's appeal than the previous ones, or at least that's the vibe I'm getting.
>>11471119>I'm not really sure what there is to strip out.Well, we won't really know what there is to strip out until we actually know what it even comes with.
But like, imagine if they released maybe a $200 version of the HISS that just came with the canopy and treads to make it look more like the OG HISS and also came with just the driver, instead of all the swappable parts for either the OG or Modern/Classified look, and the four figures.
>>11471123I think a lot of people were hoping the HISS would get a retail release without all the extra parts and electronics but alas that was not in the cards. I do think though that Hasbro's best bet is going to be either A) lure people in with a lower price so that they're less apprehensive about giving a more niche vehicle a chance, or B) packing it with so much value that you can tempt people who are sitting on the fence about it. Maybe having both is a viable strategy but I guess we'll have to wait and see what they roll out.
>>11470848>>11470859It sucks that the MOBAT is not the one getting Haslabed, it's the MBT for the Joes and a good rival against the previously released HISS tank. I'm sure with its big size that it could perhaps fit in a couple more figures than the original but alas we're getting another 2 seated land vehicle that is only specifically used in snowy environments.
>>11471138My "perfect world" foil for the HISS is actually this Sentinel 1 "tank" from the True Heroes toyline. It's not quite Hasbro quality but it's a great platform for modifying. It's basically a slightly shrunk-down Bradley Fighting Vehicle that's a good scale for 3.75" figures, and it's about the size of a HISS. Likewise, the Panther Tank from the Sergeant Savage line is a great foil against the Mauler and fits neatly into the same class of vehicle.
Regardless though, I think the MOBAT is the perfect thing to bring out as the Joe's answer to the HISS, at least as far as Classified Series is concerned. Much like the Mauler, the MBT-70 was a prototype that never saw field use so in that way it's kind of a timeless design from a future that never happened, and I think they could make something that surpasses the original toy. I'm just sad that that's not what we're getting this year.
>>11471087I think I will if they re-release Snow BATs
As of right now, I mean they're gonna make more snow guys that will all release the same time as this, but as of right now there's not many
What's the strangest cold themed guy we could get out of this
>>11471424Murdered in the cradle by Hasbro for the benefit of those shit-kicker Kenner leftovers that cooked up GI Joe Extreme. Unhinged rant aside, I might pay ridiculous aftermarket prices for a Classified Stormtrooper. Won't happen, though. Too obviously German themed.
>>11470673Maybe one day we could get one. Just pack the bike like a model kit to save money/space and sell em because id easily bite on it.
So are you guys 4imprint certain about snow cat? I dont follow social media and honestly rely on this board for toy related news. Weve got snow job, two snow serpents and artic bats with polar bear snake eyes coming soon. That doesnt seem like enough snow themed figures to warrant a snow based vehicle. Its a niche of a niche thing imo. Blizzard and iceberg and the cobra wolf kinda wrap up the snow guys from arah right?
>>11471489>>11470035This shows the leaks
But Hasbro does a thing where they do a wave that will come out the same time as the Haslab actual releases. Sometimes, I don't think the Rattler had one. But that Ghost Rider car that failed had a Marvel Legends wave of Ghost Rider related characters coming out at the same time the car would have come out if funded
>>11471424Sgt savage was one of the best lines. The movie was awesome
>>11471489Frostbite and arctic versions of Kwinn, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes. Those are my guesses for the Haslab figures. Releases coinciding with it will be retro Snow Job, Iceberg, and Stalker v2.
>>11471424>>11471504Supposedly Sgt. Savage began as a Captain America cartoon series and toy line that would have heavily featured Nick Fury and the Howling Commandos, but things fell through with Marvel and this Nick Fury became Sgt. Savage and the Howling Commandos became the Screaming Eagles. You can even see the Captain America pilot somewhere on YouTube and the animation style and art direction are exactly the same as Sgt. Savage.
>>11471534Surprisingly, yeah. His V.2 in '93 made up for it.
>>11471531the WWII looking Screaming Eagles, especially in 1990s GI Joe, make no sense until you look at them as Howling Commando rip offs. I knew it was "inspired" but knowing that they were originally the Commandos makes it clear that they were lazy lol.
>>11470782>the red rocket episode is referenced herewhy DIDNT they use Starduster or Super Trooper in the cartoons? I know they were exclusive figures, but don't you think that would have made them more in demand?
>>11470628>>11470626if these babies were 10 bucks I'd consider it. too bad everything is absurdly priced.

>>11471520The one snow guy I have a lot of nostalgia for was the arctic variant Stalker, largely because he came with a boat which I thought was really cool at the time. Plus, boats aren't exactly a winter-exclusive thing so I would play with it in the pool a lot. That was just a great toy all around and had all-year appeal.
>>11471489>>11471520I agree we're going to probably get a rush of teh snow guys as single releases next year. I still don't think they'll break the pattern and include any of them in the haslab besides the initial driver. My guess is Frostbite, Snow Bunny Scarlett, a winter steel brigade, and some patches or some other lame shit. I'd be 100% out if that was the case too. Just try and get frostbite on ebay later.
>>11470992It still hurts me that I had to pass on the Rattler, it's always been one of my favorite Joe Vehicles of all time, I love WW and the other figures with it were also cool. I also would've solved the "no space" problem by hanging it from the ceiling, as you're supposed to do with toy aircraft. Sadly my toy budget was non-existent at the time it came out.
But yes, all medium to large ground vehicles should have room to carry troops and I hate that so many Joe vehicles don't have that option.
>>11471039I collected Joes as a kid mainly between the BF2000 stuff and Battle Corps, so my main Joe vehicles were things like the Mud Buster, Battle Wagon and Dominator tank. Earlier stuff is still really cool, but those later era vehicles will always be more nostalgic to me.
>>11471087>>11471106$300 will be the minimum. The vehicle itself my only be worth $200, but it'll have enough extras and figures included to make the larger price tag worth it. People kind of just ignore that these things usually have 3-4 figures, so at a standard $25 a pop, their value adds up.
>>11471116I picked up the McFarlane Dark Knight Rises Camo Tumbler for like $30, with some vague ideas to mod it into a more "tank" like vehicle. The most basic concept I have is to somehow jury rig one of them Gridiron turret pieces onto it and completely rework the seats inside to be more appropriate for a crew of Classified figures. But even stock, it can work as a good Joe vehicle for kids to mess with as it is lots of fun to play with and has *plenty* (meaning too much) room for figures inside the cockpit.
I don't know how old your nephews are, but a giant, cheap, military colored Tumbler would probably be a way easier, and way more affordable, gift then having to print an entire tank from scratch while also being far more durable to play with.
>>11471422Hasbro already has a re-production of the Arctic Bats planned. I had one pre-ordered on BBTS forever with no sign of movement, then one day I got a message saying it's release date will be moved back a year as there wasn't enough stock for em and Hasbro confirmed to them they'd be making more.
So yea, more Arctic Bats are on the way.
>>11471712Looking at the thing, if it is 1/12 scale, the design language actually makes me think Cobra a bit more than GI Joe, but I'll at least keep that in mind as a possible cheaper alternative. It would be hella easy to just hit one up with my camo spray paint and a few stencils if I went that route.
As nutty as I thought the idea was yesterday I could do a bit of extra commission work here and there and suddenly the Ramen tank isn't as out of the question as I was thinking. I just need to be diligent about that, and I should be trying to put in more work hours anyway. I still have a bit of time to mull over the options.
>>11471713I hope they fix the chainsaw attachment problem.
I only have one, but unlike the IG BAT there's no indent in the chainsaw peg hole, so it doesn't fit snuggly around the arm and is just barely attached
I would rather get something left field like Artic Range Viper but I guess it would all have to be Joe's for this, maybe.
>>11471712>People kind of just ignore that these things usually have 3-4 figures, so at a standard $25 a pop, their value adds up.I think some people would just prefer it costs what it would without the figures and also not come with them
But it is more desirable with figures so I get it.
>>11471630I already have a Stalker so this wouldn't be an incentive for me, but if they do end up making him one ill be glad you're at least happy anon
>>11471520There's always more people of color in GI Joe than I remember, despite that being half the point.
>>11471489Painted model kits I feel is an untapped potential for companies like Hasbro. Lots of people are unwilling to paint, but thanks to BAFs lots of people are programed to have no issue ensembling figures.
>>11471765>There's always more people of color in GI Joe than I rememberNot Cobra though, the most diversity they get are Australians
>>11471781I do like Shadow Tracker even if his masks don't stick
>>11471781>>11471793I know he was just a frankensteined one off nobody, but I would LOVE a Classified version of the RoC Night Adder. Hasbro said they wanted more characters that could include pets, so Night Adder would be an easy repaint figure to drop as some sort of store exclusive or something.
>>11471796I just looked and yeah I agree
Although if they want more pets do the guy with the dolphin or the giant scorpion
>>11471901Hmm, looks like they make the torso smaller to compensate for the vest. If they release a blue suit version in the mainline, I hope they make a new torso for it.
>>11471582Anon, Joe's haven't been that cheap for about 20 years.
>>11472017>mfw the bad guys have won
Some part swapping. Was gonna give Falcon some laced boots, but for some reason his are pegged into the calves instead of the other way around.
>>11472017Maybe 10 years. The Modern Era 3.75" 25th Anni figures started coming out in 2007, and they were $5-$6, and most of the lines after that were sub-$10 until maybe the mid 2010s. After that, I don't even think there even were any Joes until Classified, and the crappy 3.75" "retro" line.
>>11472074Yeah, I wanted to give Big Ben Falcon's gaitered boots after I swapped his legs but I ran into the same problem. Falcon was a really strange release and I hope they rework him a lot if they ever do a retro card. Picrel is my best attempt at polishing the turd, although I suspect that if they ever do a retro card his knife will still be non-functional (I used a 3D printed harness with a knife for him).
>>11472229I am glad the non functioning knife didn't became a sign of things to come
>>11472240Yeah, I think it was a rushed sculpt made by someone who cut corners. Even 1/18 figures these days have removable knives, like my customized 25A Falcon.
>>11472173The Retaliation and 50th lines were $10.
>>11471926That figure was made with the intention of blue Baroness. There's no way they redo the sculpt.
>>11470848>Yea, that Rage is loaded up with my Cobra urban combat team>And yes, that little tank is the Goliath Battle Tank from the first Captain America film's toyline. Strip off the stars and stripe decals and it's colors match up with Vipers *really* well. Also got the APC from that line and that acts as a Transport for more heavy infantry Vipers.Awesome. I love it.
>>11471685It's the other Pursuit of Cobra-era Destro that I'd prefer, but if we get a wave of snow guys, this would be cool.
>>11471630Bro, i remember getting him. The tooth fairy visited my grandparents on a visit and left him for me.
>>11471685This triggered my PWPTSD
(PegWarmer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
>>11472590Seriously, I think Hasbro must doing something right because a lot of peg warmers and unliked figures of the past have fans craving for them in the larger scale. I'd like to believe it's due to increased detail or whatever, but the tall figures don't necessarily have that much more detail than the last wave of GI Joe in 1/18. I think some fans are just happy to buy GI Joe and will even get excited over figures we used to ignore, back when we had a larger assortment with more to choose from. I do like the Classified figures like Cold Slither and the Tiger Force, but seeing fans getting excited over some of these figures, even pondering spending $120, is new to me. Like I said, I guess Hasbro must be doing something right.
>>11472615They're just good toys.
It's why you get those freaks that are buying it despite not knowing anything about GI Joe
>>11472635It's pretty much this, even as a huge fan of G.I. Joe I'm buying Classified versions of characters I don't care about because the line is just that damn good.
Of course treating each release like an event and making it like every figure is special also helps pump up the line. Also the fact that there's *just* enough to be excited about without completely overwhelming collectors helps too. Classified as a whole is just a really solid and well run toyline, and it makes you wonder why other lines seem to struggle more with bigger budgets behind them.
>>11472635>>11472669I get it. They are well done. I just don't have room to get rid of my old stuff and collect the new ones. I'll probably give in and get at least a figure or two at some point.
>>11472615>>11472669I've always been more of a character oriented fan, so having every figure get good articulation, detail, and a unique head sculpt led me to buying a lot more characters for the variety alone.
>>11472715Scarlet forgot her arrows
>>11472722Took them out for ease of positioning, they were bumping into Duke's arm
>>11472730It's okay, it's a nice picture
You should do one where everyone is just holding their knives, never seen that before for this many figures
>>11472715>Mutt just stepped in Junkyard's droppings. This is an awesome shot.
>>11472615The line had a really shaky start, though. Most people assumed it was going to be cancelled in its first year because of the horrible distribution, the Snake Eyes: Origins wave clogging shelves for ages, and because the line started right during the whole pandemic thing, and the first wave or two of Cobra Island were borderline impossible to get.
It felt like it didn't really start hitting its stride until mid-2021, a year and a half in. Classified still does have its share of issues and peg warmers, but I don't think anyone would have thought we'd be this deep in and the line would be going on this long. Some people hate the Haslab model, but the Classified Haslabs have seemingly been the most consistent hits among all of the haslab offerings.
I'm glad they're starting to get to some of the weird, niche sublines. I think a lot of us hoped they'd be able to go that deep, but non of us expected they would either be willing to, nor would the line be successful enough for them to actual do so.
>>11472765Once we get them I'll personally considered it an amazing success
>>11472758I'm surprised no one really talks about it, but I hate that expression on him. It would have been fine as an alternate head, but having him grimacing like a constipated madman in every single situation you pose your toys in just looks silly. Especially when everyone eles in the line has a fairly neutral expression.
>>11472615>I think Hasbro must doing something right>I think some fans are just happy to buy GI Joe and will even get excited over figures we used to ignore... these two things do not go together
Fans of the franchise being desperate for anything isn't Hasbro doing something right.
Also, most pegwarmers aren't because fans didn't like them. Pegwarmers also mean that way too many figures got ordered or was something that only hardcore fans wanted (read: the hardcore fans that basically make up the majority of sales today, now that GI Joe isn't popular).
Other pegwarmers during Pursuit of Cobra = Jungle Viper and Dusty. Both of these had amazing designs and were fairly popular, until they were the only figures you could find in stores. So the second wave for PoC was overordered, hence almost every figure being a pegwarmer.
Personally, I don't think Hasbro is on the right track, especially since we're talking about Pursuit of Cobra designs. THAT was the right track, which actually revved up the fanbase because of teh new designs.
Hasbro relying on nostalgia and not doing anything new is insular niche catering, where only hardcore fans give a shit... and with shit in such desperate times, there's at least one hardcore fan spooging over winter destro. A figure so hated, that even the spring loaded figures from PoC sold out faster.
>>11472765Seems a lot fans are dropping the series and dumping their collections. I'm seeing prices drop on GI Joe figures lately. Figures that used to go for $40 are below their original MSRP now.
Haven't seen such a dumpfest since World War Robot, from collectors rage quitting when that line was killed.
>>11472794>Seems a lot fans are dropping the series and dumping their collections. I'm seeing prices drop on GI Joe figures lately. Figures that used to go for $40 are below their original MSRP now.Not really what I'm seeing at all. People are always dumping their collections anyway, and some figures have dropped some just because there are better options or alternate options now, especially with the carded releases (figures like Mindbender, Bludd's upcoming release, some generic troopers got carded releases like Snow Serpents and Vipers, etc.)
Most of the figures that had higher prices are still pretty high, and a lot of the figures that were either exclusives or had short runs seem unchanged.
>>11472794>. I'm seeing prices drop on GI Joe figures lately.Well next time you see that post it here so I can get some
Do you think Gnawgahyde is ever gonna go under $34 or should I just get him now
>>11472794>isn't Hasbro doing something rightFor them, it is. Obviously fans are paying for expensive vehicles and remade figures. For the fans of 1/18, (like myself) no they aren't doing it right. I think you misunderstood what was written. Hasbro is happy about this new line, I'm sure of it lol.
>Also, most pegwarmers aren't because fans didn't like them. With few exceptions, most peg warmers were shit. Unnecessary, boring, repaints, lazy kitbashes, and characters who were overexposed. And your idea of peg warmers might be different than mines, as POC was not sitting on pegs over here. You wait a week and everything was gone. You wait for the next shipment. Either way Dusty and Jungle Vipers weren't that popular and I don't see them in many pics, dios, lists, videos or other shows of fandom. Most peg warmers were not that great or loved. I'm sure there are fans of them, but for the most part unpurchased merchandise was not well received.
>Pursuit of Cobra designs. THAT was the right trackI agree. I think they match the 6 in figures in a lot of aspects, and were easier to store and get vehicles for.
>there's at least one hardcore fan spooging over winter destroThat's exactly the point I was conveying. Wholeheartedly.
>I'm seeing prices drop on GI Joe figures lately. I have two theories on this: the army builders and scalpers who overbought initially are finally dropping the prices on figures they've held on for years at high prices. And two, the hype wore off. After collecting so many figures a lot of fans realize they were caught up in the hype and aren't THAT interested in having so many Scarletts, CCs, or even one Quick Kick. The economy is shaky and letting go of some of the figures make sense. A lot of them were drip-fed to collectors so it can trigger their buying habits when they release. Hasbro knows what it's doing with their Classified line.
>>11472865Woah, this would be a great Classified
>>11472866I never saw him peg warm. In fact I only ever saw one and I bought him.
>>11472794Where were you at with Dusty and Jungle Vipers as peg warmers? All I ever saw on shelves was Ice Destro and Ice Cobra Commander.
>>11472821People have been claiming this since the start of Classified and no one ever provided proof to back up the claim. The line is going as strong as it's ever been regardless of what some toy speculators and scalpers are doing on the secondary market.
Though I personally never understood the concept of people "ragequitting" a toyline. Did you not buy the toy because you like the toy? Why would not being able to get more make you want to get rid of what you already have?
>>11472861I would just get him for that, it seems like decent price for him seeing as he's $44 on Pulse. Plus, where else are you going to get an articulated Warthog pet named Porkbelly?
>>11472866The PoC/30th/Ret lines had some absolute bangers, and I would love to see some of those newer designs and characters pop up in Classified. Even the RoC stuff weren't bad toys and designs on their own, they just weren't good representations of the characters they were supposed to represent. But I would happily grab a Classified version of Reactive Armor Duke, Jungle Strike Ripcord or that awesome Destro design the toyline used.
>>11472887>People have been claiming this since the start of Classified and no one ever provided proof to back up the claim. To be fair, it was a little easier to believe at the start of the line. As I said (and we all kinda know this) the distribution sucked at the beginning of the line. For a year and a half, barely any figures were coming out, and you couldn't get them anywhere at all. The Snake Eyes movie wave jammed shelves up, and I think people were just frustrated at the lack of product.
Hell, I actually ended up selling the 20 or so figures I had at the time due to the lack of not being able to find anything for almost a year. The only thing that sort of saved it for me at the time was that I had one or two figures I couldn't sell, and my Snake Supreme CC came in, and I thought he was an awesome figure. That figure single-handedly saved me from totally exiting the line, and I'm glad I didn't because I have loved it since getting back into it.
I still think summer(ish) of 2021 was the turning point for the line because it found its traction with two or three back to back waves that had figures like the BATs, Alley Vipers, Stalker, Storm Shadow, Spirit, etc, and they were all great. From then on, the figures were coming out pretty steadily, and it helped that the Target exclusive PP/Tiger Force sublines were waaaaay easier to get than the previous Cobra Island subline.
>>11472821Speaking as an old timer, when figures that were exclusives/in sets/pack ins get released as singles or vice versa, the price really didn't go down much and never down to retail price, especially for army builders. Re-releases shouldn't affect prices that much.
And of course highly wanted figures, especially exclusives stay high, but i've seen those prices go down too.
I mean, i could be wrong that people are dumping their collections to make prices fall that far. Maybe demand just died and people aren't buying shit on the secondary market.
And i doubt that it's some economic thing affecting the entire toy market, since the prices for World War Robot have gone up since those fans rage quit years ago and I still regularly hunt for those. Same with McFarlane Halo figures, another line I actively stalk to not pay 5x what they originally went for.
>>11472865Wave 2 had huge pegwarmers. /toy/ had a great community back in the day and we used to have people calling out their cities/region on what we'd find in our area, so we knew it was bad country-wide. Good for you that you lived in an area that was able to get wave 3, 4, 5, and 6, but most of us would still find Winter Destro taking up most of the space during that time.
Based on the fact you don't think Dusty and Jungle Viper were popular, you weren't on forums back then. There's a reason why PoC was and still is considered the height of the GI Joe line, and those two figures were an early part of why there was such hype. Being part of an overordered wave understandably created a backlash.
>Hasbro is happy about this new lineI doubt this, because there's no growth and the line's lost support over the years. Walmarts cutting back is huge, since they're the biggest toy vendor.
>>11472887I love quitters. It makes it cheaper for me to get what i want.
>>11471781>Not Cobra though, the most diversity they get are Australians>Cobra Commander arguing with an HR Lady in a Crimson Guard uniform>trying to convince her that Australians, Florida Men and robots do count towards diversity requirements>he knows he can just shoot her if she doesn't go for it, but just doesn't want to have that conversation with Tomax and Xamot
>>11472919>when figures that were exclusives/in sets/pack ins get released as singles or vice versa, the price really didn't go down much and never down to retail price, especially for army builders. Re-releases shouldn't affect prices that much.I'd say it depends on a lot of things, but I would say it has affected the Classified line. Used to be that the Cobra Island Vipers were selling for upwards of $80 a few years ago. You can now find them all over eBay at listed and sold prices for about $30-$35 on average. That's still over retail, but far from the nearly 4x their retail that they used to go for.
I suppose you could attribute that to a lot of things: Most people already got the amount they want. The 3-pack may have caused the price to drop some. The retro version may have caused the price to drop more. Or, people are just "over" the figure and have moved on to newer ones in the line. And that's just one example.
If you're an "old timer" as you claim to be, you should probably be aware that when it comes to toys (and collectibles in general) they always seem to come with a "U" shaped price curve. When a new figure (for example) comes out, people are FOMOing over it, and scalpers and collectors are fighting all to get it as fast as possible. As time goes on, the figure becomes way more common, so the price starts to decline, sometimes to the point that a previously very expensive figure becomes cheap. However, as more time goes on, that figure's production slows down or stops (because they've moved on to producing new figures) so that figure's price steadily starts to climb again, because people who missed out or newcomers to the line are looking for it, driving demand back up, so its price could end up spiking way back up.
I doubt collection sell-offs have as much of an impact as you're making them out to be. Maybe a little, but you'd need like, hundreds or thousands of people selling of their collections to make prices sink to hugely noticeable levels.
>>11472919>/toy/ had a great community back in the day and we used to have people calling out their cities/region on what we'd find in our area, so we knew it was bad country-wide.Anons weren't buying Dusty or Jungle Viper? That sniper had an incredible rifle and overall kicked ass. Better than any Night Viper we could have hoped for. The prices might have had an effect on them not being bought. By then figures were $20 over here.
>There's a reason why PoC was and still is considered the height of the GI JoeFor modern Joes it was. As for overall? Not really, aisles of Joes and vehicles were available everywhere in the heyday. The variation and availability tied with their prices and originality were peak. Although POC had the best detail, articulations and look. I get what you're saying.
>I doubt this, because there's no growth and the line's lost support over the years.I don't see them stopping the Classified line anytime soon. I don't care for it, but they are actively selling vehicles and figures for absurd prices. If they didn't bumble the smaller Retro line they might have two lines out at once. I don't think they're geniuses, but they can't be upset at the success of the Classified guys.
>>11472961>I don't care for it, but they are actively selling vehicles and figures for absurd prices.Yeah, I feel like saying "Hasbro isn't happy with Classified" is like saying they're not happy with any of their lines. We know what lines look like when they're dying, Power Rangers, and we know what lines look like when we know they don't care. Talking like this about Classified does feel a bit like doomposting
>>11472949Too bad that threepack ended up clearanced so hard. If it had sold out we might have had a three pack just for Range Vipers by now
>>11472972I'm not sure what it was about it that was such a turn off for people. I think people didn't like the muted colors, and there were definitely some QC issues people with the figures being improperly built.
I still like it for the Officer and all the guns and effect parts, but I can see why people didn't want to pay the $80-$90, or whatever the retail was. Hell, its still available everywhere for $50-$60.
>>11472975I think the QC about the black guy arms with a white guy neck isn't that noticeable for people who wouldn't be taking the arm bands off but yeah
>>11472949I talked a bit about U shaped prices in this post
>>11467907 almost a week ago.
>Most people already got the amount they want. Still shouldn't affect prices that much. I'll refer to McFarlane's Halo line, where no one gives a shit about the line on /toy/ and most other forums. Prices have only gone up over the years, especially for anything army buildable.
Versus GI Joe, where I've spent way too much money on shit over the past year because of people lowering their prices. Granted, i haven't bought anything from Classified, but it's impossible not to come across their prices because GI Joe is just nostalgiashit now instead of creating new characters/designs like before.
Like i said in that other thread, GI Joes used to be more popular and now they're not.
>>11472961Do i really have to repeat myself? Dusty and Jungle Viper were very popular. They got a ton of hype when they were revealed and initially sold really well. Unfortunately, stores overordered wave 2, because wave 1 sold out almost immediately. So wave 2 as a whole was a pegwarmer and everyone started hating the figures because that's all they could find for almost a year, with Winter Destro being the worst one.
On /toy/, we actually encouraged each other to buy all the Dustys and Jungle Vipers, so that all that stock would eventually disappear and new stock could appear. So i actually bought one of either or both every week i went to a Target/Wlmart/whatever... but since Winter Destros were still left....
And PoC was/is considered the height of GI Joe in terms of designs. It was very popular with fans, even if it never got to 1986 and 1992 level of sales.
BTW, a lot of Walmarts stopped carrying GI Joe. I don't think Walgreens even carries it anymore either. So it's been losing support.
>>11472992>Still shouldn't affect prices that much. I'll refer to McFarlane's Halo line, where no one gives a shit about the line on /toy/ and most other forums. Prices have only gone up over the years, especially for anything army buildable. That's pretty much exactly what I was pointing out from the other end of the "U" curve. Halo, being such a large IP, has had hardly any toys or figures at all. The only extensive lines are McFarlane's or MegaBlox. There have been very few other lines and options, and certainly not even close to as deep as those two have gone. McFarlane is basically the only game in town when it comes to Halo.
GI Joe has had dozens of lines, scales, eras, etc. across 6+ decades. There are also theories that the bottom is sort of falling out of vintage and even the early ME joes is because all the people who were buying them 20, 30, 40 years ago were already people in their 30s, 40s, 50s, so they're basically boomers who are dying off, and the pool of people who actually want those figures is shrinking year over year.
>>11472992>BTW, a lot of Walmarts stopped carrying GI Joe. I don't think Walgreens even carries it anymore either. So it's been losing support.Walgreens hasn't seriously carried toys in almost a decade. I think I've seen Classified figures at a Walgreens maybe once or twice, and that was 3 or 4 years ago. I don't even think they get exclusives anymore, and they used to get shitloads of exclusives for Marvel Legends and SW Black series. I think you can probably go into a Walgreens and see the same figures that were sitting on the shelves there 5 years ago.
Walmart and Target change their shelving floor plans constantly. They'll eliminate shelf space when there is nothing to put there, and then bring it back a month or two later when new stuff comes out. I hadn't seen Classified figures at Target for probably 2 or 3 months, and I've gone to two Targets in the last two days and seen both the newest Retro waves (Vipers, Rock n' Roll, Mindbender) and the newest boxed wave (Blowtorch, FRAG Viper, Darklon.)
They'll make space when there is product to sell. It is starting to feel like you're a hopeful who is trying to will the end of Classified into existence by pretending no one can find it, everyone is stilling it off, and people are only getting pennies for their figures when they do sell them.
>>11473029Walgreens used to get its own exclusives! ...back when it had a CEO that loved toys, and this is highly documented so it's not even like a fake bullshit thing. I think they more or less stopped once he stepped down
>>11472758Thanks. The original intent was his frustration at Junkyard getting away from him, but that works too.
>>11472790I feel the same. I guess the mask is considered the neutral option, but I'm not a fan of that look.
>>11473024>Halo, being such a large IPIt's a dead IP though. McFarlane ditched the license long ago and two companies ditched it since then, because no one really gives a shit about buying their toys at retail since 3 or 4. I mean, who even plays the game today, despite the new one being free?
But that's besides the point, because I was comparing two series that have been on a decline, except one's toyline (specifically McFarlanes, because i don't track Jazware's or Mattels) has prices going up despite almost no discussion anywhere and GI Joe's prices going down despite still having people giving a shit.
If i'm to compare GI Joe strickly to GI Joe, army builders within the line never really jump down in prices the way they did. Alley Vipers in 1:18 would basically never go down in price to MSRP once they're going from retail and have always enjoyed a premium as a rule on the secondary market. Whereas in 1:12, below MSRP even unopened.
Army builder backs never really lessened prices for army builders in 1:18 on the secondary market either.
... and this WAS true for 1:12 too. For a bit. Now demand has become slack, either because of stock dumping or disinterested fans.
>the bottom is sort of falling out of vintageI think this applies to the GI Joe franchise as a whole. How old is everyone in this thread? I'm in my 40s. Anyone here under 20? Because the old GI Joe generals had a bunch of under 20 year olds, which surprised me, because we considered the series a dying franchsie back then too (bad movies, failing cartoons, etc).
And if we considered the GI Joe franchsie back as dying, despite constant reboots/retrys every couple of years.... what's it considered today when there's no cartoons/movies at all?
At least back in the 10s, people were loving Cobra's Civl War storyline. No one here even acknowledge's Image's comic existing.
Found these two today. RnR's great, I like him more than the standard release. Viper not so much, rifles and hands just don't quite work
>>11473075 The Chuckles books are great.
In my own personal headcannon he somehow survives. I don't know how... he just does.
>>11473075>>Halo, being such a large IP>It's a dead IP though. McFarlane ditched the license long ago and two companies ditched it since then, because no one really gives a shit about buying their toys at retail since 3 or 4.To be fair, I don't know much about Halo, however I do know that that the earliest games were enough to cement its place in gaming history, so there are clearly enough fans who would like having figures.
>Alley Vipers in 1:18 would basically never go down in price to MSRP once they're going from retail and have always enjoyed a premium as a rule on the secondary market. There's probably a lot of factors to account for for a few things, especially things like price and scale from 1:18 to 1:12, but just a surface glance at eBay's sold prices tells something of a different story. The traffic cone orange Alley Vipers in the Classified line do go for slightly under retail, but the Walmart PoC colored ones go at or above retail.
And Alley Viper is my favorite Viper type, so I was buying every single one I could find, and buying them off of people on HISSTank during the ME 1:18 and trading for them all the time, and I almost never paid over retail for them. Hell, you can buy them loose for under $10 right now. That's like a dollar or two over retail. Even the traffic cone one from the Target 7-pack figure set maybe goes for $5 more than that. Hell, you can find VINTAGE ones for $10-$20 these days, depending on condition. Sealed vintage ones are obviously a lot more, but sealed ME ones are maybe twice the loose ones.
I just think you're being a bit disingenuous, or you're trying to do some weird history rewrite. Hell, if you want to argue how poor Classified is doing, I don't know how you can even even say that when it has ran longer than literally any ME 1:18th line...
>>11473097I think they just made a ton of Alley Vipers after demand for previous troop builders, I think this mainly because it's still in stock on BBTS so that's gonna drive down ebay scalpers
Unless it was rereleased?
>>11473108I think that's what happened for sure. I mentioned it in another post, but the waves with Alley Viper, the BATs, Stalker, Storm Shadow, Spirit, Cobra Officer, etc. were made in waaaaay more abundance, since they were the first few waves after the logistical and distribution issues, so they probably wanted to make sure they had plenty available, which just led to them being likely overproduced.
>>11473067I was already on the fence because I don't have a Roadblock, but I have a normal Tripwire
Your pics are making me want to get TF Tripwire
>>11473119The only reason I got it was cause Target marked it down to $16, I honestly wish I had the standard Tripwire instead.
>>11473124Damn, wish I had been paying attention to that.
>>11473097>clearly enough fans who would like having figures.Clearly not, since JAzwares was releasing figures from Halo 1 and 2. Pretty quality, in a popular scale (1:18 and 1:12, unlike McFarlane's 1:15 & 1:16), and cost $10-20 at any local store instead of $30-150 on the second hand market. And according to /toy/, Jazware's were even better than McFarlane since they have modern articulation instead of McFarlane's randomness from 2000s. But no, Jazware's line bombed and barely go for over retail price on the secondary market now.
Joyride, who released the original Halo line before McFarlane, also doesn't go for as much as McFarlane's do.
>I just think you're being a bit disingenuousAbout what though? Fact is, prices are going down on the secondary market and GI Joe has been losing support from retailers. There's also no media going on or no shits are being given about it.
You can make excuses about why something sells or not, but at the end of the day, people are literally choosing more the more expensive 1:18 option that were probably sold in the millions vs the modern 1:12 figures. But even the 1:18 option is going for less than it used to.
So like i said, i don't think Hasbro is on the right track if fans aren't buying shit in droves like they used to and arent attracting new fans. Hence wondering the age of for you guys now.
Support has lessened toy.
>>11473108I remember when the GI Joe General was ontop of knowing wave revisions and saying what to expect in each case. That sort of dedication no longer exists, at least here. The Marvel and DC General sometimes gets that sort of info still.
>>11473114Hasbro mentioned that those waves were ordered in greater numbers than before.
>>11473029Walgreens was getting stock up until 22 or 23, but it's hard to tell, since they tend to hold onto shit for years and you never know if someone bought the last current wave just before you drove up.
>>11473174I'm going to dip out of the Halo discussion, because I admittedly know nothing about it. I've never played the games, nor do I know anything about the fanbase nor what they want, so everything I am saying is basically just speculation.
I refuse to believe anything you're saying about GI Joe, other than the fact that it is likely true that the prices (overall, across all Joe products) are probably dipping, but I think there are several factors at play there.
>GI Joe has been losing support from retailers. There is literally zero evidence for this. Your observations that there is no shelf space is based on Walgreens, which has barely even carried figures since Classified released, and Walmart not having space for them. I already told you how that works. I worked for Target in 2008-2009, and they do resets of aisles all the time. I doubt things have changed much, even in the 15+ years (since you can still see shelf space changing frequently, planogram and inventory sheets which they sometimes actually put on the physical shelves anyway can show you this.
I mean, endcaps change at Target and Walmart almost weekly, and aisle shelves change every month or two with big resets seasonally. Retail stores HATE empty space, so if a product is lagging, they'll put something else in its place, then they'll put anything there to fill it. When product (like a new wave) of figures comes out, they'll put the space back. It isn't evidence that the line is dying, you're just ignorant on how retail works.
It just blows my mind how you think this line is dying, when it has been going on for over 5 years now, and has suffered far more stresses than what is going on now, and it is in a much better state now than it has ever been.
>>11473174>So like i said, i don't think Hasbro is on the right track if fans aren't buying shit in droves like they used toWhat metrics are you using to prove that people "aren't buying shit in droves?" The fact that some figures sell for a few dollars under retail sometimes? I swear, people will try to use any argument to make a line they don't like look bad.
No figures to be found anywhere at physical retail, or online? Line is dying because nobody can get any product and everyone wants it, but is getting tired and moving on.
Figures located everywhere, and you can easily buy them online or even in most stores? Line is dying because there is product everywhere, and that means nobody wants it.
>and arent attracting new fans. Hence wondering the age of for you guys now.GI Joe has rarely had any sort of media or lore that people have cared about since like, the 80s and 90s cartoons and comics. Everything else has been met with mild, or no success. And to that, I don't have a solution or know what will bring people in. Some of the ideas hasbro has mad have been bad, some of it has been bad luck (Retaliation movie got delayed by a year, Pandemic and other fuckery screwed the Snake Eyes movie up, but neither were great movies anyway.) I just don't know. I actually cared very little about the lore, I just thought the figure and character designs were appealing, ever since I was a kid.
And funny enough, I am actually older than you if you really are 40. I'll be 42 next month, so that isn't it. I just think you aren't very observant, and making a lot of mental leaps.
>>11473189We literally have 4 years of people talking about their stores and what they carry or don't carry. Even this guy backs me up in common knowledge
>>11473048 about Walgreens.
Theres weekly videos from a hundred youtubers desperate to make money showing off what they can find in their local stores. No GI Joes, since the movie bombed and they clearanced out the movie figures. These are major retailers with thousands of stores in the US, and losing any of them is a major hit.
And since you worked at Target, you know that there WAS dedicated space and you know that it didn't disappear just because they ran out of stock. This is why we knew we could blame Winter Destro for killing all chance of us not being able to find Wave 3 - 6 during the Pursuit of Cobra era. Back then, almost every single store was supposed to have identical in stock.
Today? Half my Walmarts don't carry GI Joe or McFarlane DC figures, but the other half do, even if they ran out of stock. ... Well, i lied, because these Walmarts put up the Superman figures up on display starting the other week and some kept the DC figs in the collectors section.
Again, i don't see how any toy company would be happy with meagar support they're getting now compared to how it used to be. Even just 3-2 years ago, the difference is noticeable.
Maybe as a fan you're happy that you get your nostalgiawank material, so you can relive finding Winter Destro in your store shelves again, but as someone who actually remembers all his shelf warming and killing off the regular shipments to my local stores, that we even had HALF waves, full of old figures because some fans missed out previous waves.... well, maybe that shelf warming wasn't happy times, because look at how many amazing figures i missed out on. But at least we they still made amazing figures.
pic of the first time in what seemed a year that i started seeing new PoC figures in my stores again, which also had a case revision
>>11473191>What metrics are you usingthe fact that people have been reporting their local walmarts no longer stocking GI Joes. The fact that Walgreens probably gave up stocking Joes
When things were actually looking up for GI Joe, before the movie bombed, all these chains universally carried Joes. Then it became spotty to straight up no stock for years.
Maybe it's not literally half of walmarts no carrying GI Joe, but it seems like a common description bsed on people talking about what they find in stores.
So we can easily assume thousands of stores stopped carrying the line, which is a significant number.
And while i do think reporting secondary market prices is pretty iffy, it still points toward demand.
>And funny enough, I am actually older than you if you really are 40. I'll be 42 next month, so that isn't it. I just think you aren't very observant, oof. before you say things like this, you should re-read what was said.
And did you miss the point about why i asked for age? If this thread is nothing but 20, 30, and 40 year olds, that's not a good thing. No company would be happy that their fanbase isn't experiencing growth, which requires a younger crowd, which was happening back in the 00s and 10s for GI Joe.
>>11473197Who cares about walgreens? I'm saying they aren't any sort of metric to count. Even during the hayday, they barely had any toys at all, and you were lucky to find anything there for Joes anyway. Walgreens doesn't order by the case, they just got whatever they were sent, and that was often just a few figures. And Walgreens was a great place to find figures for like, four or five years then everyone found out about it, and then you never found any figures there anymore because now everyone was in on it. I've not seen any worthwhile toys at Walgreens in years other than some crusty old Marvel Legends and black series that were pegwarming years ago. People don't find shit there because they basically stopped carrying most toys before Classified was barely even a thing.
And no, stores did NOT ever have "identical stock." Stores get shit based on volume/foot traffic. You had a way higher change of getting shit in if it were a bigger Walmart or Target, since some 15 years ago not all Targets/Walmarts were Super Targets/Walmart Supercenters (when they added grocery sections.)
I worked at Target before PoC was even out, I was there near the end of the 25th Anniversary line, and we barely got cases of it back then, but there were huge distribution issues even then. 2007 was when the Bayformers movie came out, and they could NOT keep any of those figures on the shelf at all, and by association, lots of other Hasbro stuff would sell. Most of the problems even then were due to distribution.
Besides, GI Joe has been direct to consumer before, and NEVER has there been more options to find this shit online. You can probably buy 60-70% of this line RIGHT now at, or around retail, across Pulse, Amazon, Walmart, Target, BBTS, EE, and several other places. These figures are in stock EVERYwhere online. Anyway, I have already agreed with you that Hasbro has done a piss-poor job at trying to market GI Joe to a new or young audience. I don't know what they can do to fix it.
>>11473217Who cares? They have over 8000 stores in the US.
1 case per store? You just sold what the midsized collector toyline sells (50k). This is why everyone tried to rush in to get Walgreens and offering exclusive after exclusive.
You don't seem to understand how important retail support is. You also don't seem to understand how shit is even shipped to them. Everything comes in a case. It's not some randomass local vendor filling in the shelves with Mexican candy he stores in his Kia.
And again, they're SUPPOSED to have identical stock. This is what planograms are for, because they want a store in Garden City New York to be as accessable as the one in Garden City Kansa. And again, that's how it USED to be... because again, not even my local Walmarts are like that anymore.
So back in the day? I literally found Winter Destro in every single Walmart in my county, because every single Walmart was supposed to carry the Pursuit of Cobra line. Today, if shit doesn't sell, some walmarts don't even have pegs marked for GI Joes, because they stopped carrying them when the movie bombed.
Again, retail support is super important when there's THOUSANDS of stores. Big stores like this are carrying hundreds of thousands of units. And again, WALGREENS has more locations than WAlmart by almost TWICE.
Also, direct to consumers is nice for consumers. For the toy company who is used to selling millinos of units every year? That's bad. TRU saved the GI Joe line back then, because once Sigma 6 bombed, TRU proved people wanted to continue supporting GI Joes in 1:18. Without TRU, the DTC line would have fizzled out once they released all the unreleased shit.
TRU also kept GI Joe going for 3-4 years after GI Joe died after the Retaliation line bombed. Once TRU revealed they were going bankrupt, GI Joe died.
TRU only had 800 stores. That's 1/10th of how many stores Walgreens has.
Walgreens probably kept some toy companies in business when TRU went under.
>>11473222>You don't seem to understand how important retail support isNot a lot of toy collectors do which is why people think Hasbro is getting more money from Haslabs then if they could get Walmart to make space for s HISS tank
>>11473222I think you're just vastly overestimating the numbers for Walgreens. Most people don't even realize they have toys. And they've always had maybe a quarter of an aisle dedicated to toys. And them not carrying classified being some indicator of the line's failing is laughable. They just don't care many toys at all to begin with.
>You don't seem to understand how important retail support is. You also don't seem to understand how shit is even shipped to them.Year over year there's like a decline in foot traffic to physical stores. Toys are a loss leader and have been for years, if not always. Most retailers don't see profit until pretty much the last quarter of the year because of holiday spending. Physical retail helps with things like impulse purchases, which kids practically don't do anymore.
And I understand how things are shipped because that is sometimes how shit was even shipped to Target. Walgreens got those plastic totes shipped to them with things inside. Target often got "repack boxes" which literally boxes filled with loose items pulled from cases at the distribution center.
>And again, they're SUPPOSED to have identical stock. To a degree and in a general sense, but certainly not in a literal sense. I already told you that 10, 15, 20 years ago, the landscape of retail was very different. Many of these stores hadn't upgraded to being Super Targets or Walmarts yet, so they had much, much smaller physical place. They literally could not have all of the same items the bigger locations had. Targets were graded on volume, from (IIRC) D to AAA. Sometimes Ds, Cs, or even B graded stores simply did not have the space for. A AAA Super Target might have had 6 pegs for Joes, while a B had one peg for Joes. That's just...simply how it worked.
>>11473222>Also, direct to consumers is nice for consumers. Many toy companies have had to temper their expectations over the years, This is true of a lot of collectible hobbies. Not just TRUs and even older shit like KayBees, but even a lot of specialty toy stores and comic shops have close down year over year. Even with comics, in the 90s you expected your book to sell millions of copies. If you only sold 100K your book was probably getting cancelled. Now, you're celebrating if your book sells 100K, and you're probably a chart-topper.
Its just the way the times have changed.
Anyway, I've already said I agree with some things. I think Hasbro does a bad job marketing GI Joe to new audiences. It really sucks that dedicated toy stores like TRU and the like had to go under, as that hurt a lot of lines.
I'd love if there were more of this stuff everywhere, I just don't agree that the line is in decline, based off of many, many things we can literally see everywhere.
>end of teh line
Has been said since the online community started around 2000.
>>11473228I don't think /toy/ is this sad, but we used to have way more posters who actually had an education and knew how businesses work.
>>11473231Dude, just a simple google will tell you how many Walgreens store exist. https://www.timeout.com/usa/news/heres-the-full-list-of-walgreen-stores-that-are-closing-permanently-and-why-102124 I actually underestimated how many stores they had, because i knew that they closed down about thousand since COVID ended and are closing even more. I only know how many exist off hand because I looked this shit up when Hasbro and McFarlane started getting support from Walgreens by giving them exclusive after exclusive. And back then, they almost had 10,000 stores.
>Toys are a loss leader You're repeating half understood bullshit. Walmarts expect every square foot of space in their store to generate $X,XXX.xx every week/day. If they don't sell that much shit, to THEM, they're losing money.
If they were actually losing money, they would have long stopped carrying toys long ago. If you look at what TRU was making back before they stopped revealing numbers, they were making over 10 billion dollars in revenue every single year. I forget if Walmart was the number 1 toy vendor at that point or not, but that's shit ton of money and this is despite that whole "loss leader" being repeated back then too. NO ONE is losing money from selling billions of dollars every year, hence Hasbro and Mattel making billions of dollars every year.
Still, the point is that the GI Joe lost locations where they're sold and each location is still generating a shit ton of money. If toy companes need to temper their expections, especially giant ones like Hasbro, it surprises me they keep gI Joe alive.
Honestly, if you didn't type out complete sentences, I'd think you were a zoomer, since you don't seem to understand how much physical retail still exists. I posted this a while ago, but internet sales still haven't reached physical. Not even half.

>>11473262That's it. I'm not responding any more after this. We have gone on such an insane, irrelevant, unrelated tangent that it is time to just cut it off.
Unless you can provide proof that the line is "dying" or that it is failing Hasbro's expectations (which was your original claim), you are just flat out wrong. Five years in, with coming up on 200 figures, with deep cuts into weird sublines, three highly successful Haslabs with a fourth on the way. A line that has survived longer than most of the coveted ME 1:18 lines, with all of their many vehicles and playsets (which to many people, is the biggest draw of GI Joe) couldn't survive as long as this dying line, despite the fact that they were considered more successful.
With stores that consistently change shelf space and will put the figures out when there is actual product to sell, they'll do so.
Would it be nice if the stores stocked more? Sure. Would it be nice if Hasbro made and distributed more? Sure. Would it be nice if there was a successful tie-in to bring in new fans? Absolutely.
But the line is there to be found, in abundance, if you take even a surface level look around. It is, in no way, and by no metrics, dying.
>>11473282I never said it was dying. Again, you need to re-read what was said before you post.
And you're right, it's only tangently related because of the leaps of logics you've been making and your misreading.
You had a problem with me disagreeing with you that HAsbro is doing something right (they're not) and me saying that it's just fans who are desperate for anything. I backed up what I said by pointing at demand through ebay and how stores are reacting to less demand by carrying less stock than previous years (by not carrying the line at all).
You want to say that one of the largest retail chain store in the world's sales don't matter or that they're not actually big without any proof. You want to say that stores totally don't matter, yet somehow GI Joe will make up those lost points of sales somehow? Wut?
You tried to insinuate that internet sales would somehow replace that, but that clearly isn't true. Nevermind the vehicles from Haslab are only so high priced, despite being medium sized vehicles, because they're produced in such low numbers. If retail actually carried them, they'd be half or a quarter of the price, because physical retail orders them in such high quantities.
You keep spinning your word salad without actually producing anything that actually explains what you're trying to prove. You basically say that the line still exists, like that's a great accomplishment. Again, that's not a good thing when the line used to have way more shelf space to sell more product, because Walmart/Target considered it valuable enough to take up this much space.
I mean, Walmart/Target have pretty long memories if they didn't even bother to give the last GI Joe movie an endcap like this. Or it could be Hasbro didn't pay up to get an endcap, since they also didn't have high hopes for its sales.

Hey, do you remember when GI Joe used to get endcaps without movies? This was at the front of store too. Can you imagine a toyline being so popular without a movie or cartoon backing it? Right up there with Star Wars.
>>11473340The Renegade figures were mainly liked back in the day. People thought that they were a bit too skinny and slightly cartoony, but it was overlooked due to how great they looked. I think most people liked that CC over Duke and SE. Very Cobra-La-like.
Later Renegade figures were almost impossible to find, due to how popular they were. The Renegade Storm Shadow was THE definitive Storm Shadow back then and i don't think any SS has gotten as much love since.
>>11473434>I wish they'd return to the smaller scaleThis would be Hasbro doing something right, but considering 1:18 prices have dropped on eBay, is there much of a fanbase left? Hasbro has been counterproductive in growing the brand and actively fucked over its fans, considering they cockblocked Hiya from releasing their GI Joes in the US.
>>11473789>so you're a 42 year old who still thinks like a kid?Not even the same person you were arguing with originally. And its not like we have to reach through the mists of time to a time period when GI Joe had endcaps. Even Classified has had endcaps before.
I picked up a few Vipers.
They are fun, a large improvement from the previous Vipers.
>>11473817>solid block of a single figure on one shelf... you sure that isn't at the back, with the clearanced stuff? That rail on the side makes me think so, since the back caps are the only place i've seen them at. The forward facing caps are usually prettier, since they're meant for marketing and don't use the rails since it's ugly/busy looking.
Also, i probably messed up the terminology. Frontcap. Endcap.
>>11473828No, that was when PP Viper, Bat, and TF Outback first dropped (and you can see TF Outback under the Vipers, on the second shelf), and you can see the full price sticker of 22.99 from a couple years ago.
>>11473772WWII is probably the only historical stuff that does sell. Probably the only historical stuff we'll get from them, anyhow. Bobby thinks Vietnam looks lame.
>>11473829Not saying it's clearanced, just that that's in the back of the toy section.
That little rail is there to keep products from dropping off, since the back isn't nicely kept or full of random shit. IT makes sense to just keep a solid block of a single toy there too, since the back is considered an overflow section.
>>11473789>endcaps without movies...but that HISS Tank came out in 2008,marketing for the RoC movie had already started. The whole 25th line was originally a warm up line to get Joes back on the shelves before the actual film line, which was already being worked on.
>liked that CC over Duke and SE. Very Cobra-La-likeThe hell? No one liked Cobra-La, people hated that CC because of his giant hard plastic skirt and Duke was super popular despite people complaining he *wasn't* cartoony enough.
>The Renegade Storm Shadow was THE definitive Storm Shadow back then and i don't think any SS has gotten as much love since. While Ren SS *was* the best Storm Shadow released at that point, the Ultimate version released in the third Ret wave blew him away. He came with the same amount of gear, but also had his cool weird jet pack, was entirely white without the odd dirty feet and actually had the original torso and bare arms look every fan wanted.
>This would be Hasbro doing something right, but considering 1:18 prices have dropped on eBayDoesn't that imply demand for the scale has dropped?
1:18 figures aren't all that cheaper then 1:12, so Hasbro focusing more on "Collector Friendly" scale makes sense. It's been working for both Marvel and Star Wars for years and it seems to be working for G.I. Joe as well. Classified is widely considered to be one of the best western toylines running and we're already three successful Haslabs deep, all of which has been done without any kind of mass media support. The one time Hasbro *did* try to have a media push, the movie stuff almost killed the whole line. It's probably better for Joes to just stay a really high quality niche toyline.
>>11473828Wait, are you talking about >11473789? Because that pic has Joes mainly on one shelf. >11473817 very clearly has two full shelves of Joes,
Sadly I never saw either of these happen by my Targets, the ones by me never seemed to stock anything good.
>>11473948The Targets near me had endcaps for classified, but not nearly as much as in
>>11473817 There's probably like 10 cases of each of those figures there. There were definite lopsided discrepancies with how much each store got. The Targets near me had maybe 1 row each of Viper/Bat/TF Outback. This was around the holiday season of....2022? November and December, they only put out one case at a time, but they kept it stocked, so they definitely got more cases over time.
By January the next year, they did break the endcap down and clearance the figures out though.
One of my local Walmarts that hasn't had anything in new all year just put out the retro Stalker/CC/Trooper wave, and this guy. No telling where he'd been the whole time, box was a little scuffed up
>>11473821Yes, the retro card Viper is superior.
I am really enjoying Frag-Viper, I am surprised how fun he is. Out of the newer figures I picked up, I have not put him down. Wish he came with some bombs without the effect.
>>11474040He's awesome. One of my favorites out of the line in quite a while.
>>11473948>that HISS Tank came out in 2008,marketing for the RoC movie had already started. That's not how it works
Marketing for the movie is seperate from the 25th line and Targets clearanced 25th stuff out to make room for the movie stuff anyway. So the 25th line, and those exclusives, were put on an endcap in the front of the store, along with Star WArs figures, based on the strength of 25th sales.
Retail used to compartmentalize toylines back then, hence Marvel movie lines being separate from Marvel Legends, Marvel Universe, etc. IT wasn't until like 2012 or 2013 that they started merging the movie lines with the normal, year-wide lines (movie lines usually being seasonal).
And I have no idea where you were back in 00s. Yojoe and /toy/ obviously had different views than wherever you went. I mean, Ultimate SS was a blip compared to Renegades SS and Renegades SS needed to be re-released for the 50th line because of how much fans wanted him.
Also, Hasbro switching to 1/12 is because retail ordering less after the financial crisis. They tried to force collectors away from 1:18 too, since $16 >>> $9. Increasing revenue is sexier for investors. The Marvel LEgend line wasn't enticing enough to collectors back then, so they started to dumb down the Marvel Universe line by taking articulation away and then simplifying the paint apps, so that collectors had to buy MLs if they wanted a GOOD Marvel figure. Obviously, this killed the MU line and Hasbro has been struggling to make a concurrent line since then.
You try to make it sound like Hasbro is doing fans a favor by switching over to 1:12, but it's all shitty schemes to funnel collectors into buying the more expensive option. No doubt, this is why they cockblocked Hiya from releasing their GI Joes in the west, since Hasbro feared it would take sales away from the Classified line. Super7's shitty 3.75" line is no threat, because most collectors moved away from nostalgiafag o-rings

>>11474811In most other cases, sure. But hasn't every Joe Haslab funded to the minimum within like 5 days?
>Wanted the VAMP
>Only place that had it was Pulse and it was insta sold out
>Never popped anywhere else
Am I just fucked on wanting the original?
>>11474816the VAMP is maybe one of the only ones like that, and yes
>>11474816>>Never popped anywhere elseIt popped up on bbts last August for a bit at 130, but yeah, gotta drop the cash if you want it now. I guess the AWE Striker is their answer to that demand.
>>11474814The Skystriker didn't get funded until the 11th hour when Hasbro did the Cobra take over.
I think this is the first GI Joe Haslab that doesn't feature a highly popular vehicle, so who knows how it'll turn out. Also, it's the most expensive one yet.
I think if people push the resale value enough, it'll get funded though.
>>11474832Well I'll back it on Friday when I get paid, I have to pay to renew my free shipping on Pulse
>>11474832I haven't even cleared out my Dragonfly
Nobody wants it. so I don't get the "resale value" meme
>>11474851It's not a meme, because that's literally been a big thing since COVID.
Whether you resold your shit or not doesn't matter; i think that's just a matter of "have speculators noticed it?." Which they usually don't, because they're not fans and just sit on stuff forever.
But even fans are pushing aftermarket prices and FOMO here for this.
>>11474851Only the first two Haslabs sell for more then $100 above original price
Maybe in like 20 years it'll be different, I'm not sure what to compare it to
>>11474832>The Skystriker didn't get funded until the 11th hour when Hasbro did the Cobra take over.Dead scale.
>I think this is the first GI Joe Haslab that doesn't feature a highly popular vehicle, so who knows how it'll turn out. Also, it's the most expensive one yet.The Rattler was more expensive, and at this point price is demonstrably not an issue. People are regularly spending 150 to 200% scalper markups on Classified shit. If they'd done a 400 dollar tank instead of the Snow Cat it would've sold, and maybe even better than the cat will because there's more utility there.
>>11474851>Nobody wants itNot for whatever your retarded price is
>>11472790>>11473067Well he was based on Belker from Hill Street Blues whose default expression was a snarl and routinely bit people.
>>11474890Okay, I still don't like it
>>11474575Imagine if the 2 seat cockpit in that thing had tandem seats.
>>11474890Neat, what other Joe's are references
>>11474865>>11474869It just doesn't feel like a market. I see crazy prices, even higher than I have listed and they're not moving
I don't know just doesn't feel like it's that big of a resell like people claim
>>11474887Choke on a rock
Nobody asked you
>>11474928Crystal Ball is Vincent Price with magic powers designed by Stephen King's son
>>11474929You might need to wait longer.
Anyone willing to drop hundreds of dollars on a Haslab would just do it during the campaign, so you're basically hoping for that perfect disposable income collector who just happened to get into the line too late to catch it.
>>11474929>Choke on a rockNo, fuck you. People aren't gonna trip over themselves to give some random faggot hundreds of extra dollars anymore, they just go without. Put it up for a reasonable price and you'd have a buyer in no time.
>>11474940Also the HISS Tank is probably the best case for an aftermarket Haslab, that was a pure army builder set aside from CC, but that CC specifically would be fairly easy to resell on its own.
The Rattler is more expensive and comes with 2 actual characters, and Weasel is a guaranteed rerelease in a way that probably won't even be as significant a recolor as Micky Mouse CC and the Retro one.
>>11474929It's not a sellers market, not anymore
Jabbas doll house and Unicron mainly sell well because it was a unsure market, nobody knew what would happen as the thing happened and Hasbro had to extend the Unicron deadline by like six weeks, so there's actually lots of people who didn't back it who regret it.
Meanwhile everything now has everyone who wants one backing it, so you have very little well, actually, I don't know this for sure, does my schizo rambling make any sense?
>>11474636They are cool, ive got three so far. Splash some color or insignia on a figure and ill buy that too. Imagine a snow alleyviper or even an artic diving eel and i know snow destro has been mentioned, snow valkyries would fun.
>>11474747>11474747 Idk, im just not feeling it. If it had a diffrent color scheme i think id like the vehicle more. I know its a stupid complaint about a snow themed vehicle.
>>11474940>>11474958You make sense, brah. Speculators don't make sense and it's only in retrospect that they seem smart, by holding onto shit for years and finally selling it for 2x-5x as much as they paid for it.
I mean, I have a ton of toys that are worth 2-10x more than what i paid for them, but i bought my shit because i wanted to enjoy them, not resell. I also have a ton of toys that are worhtless than what i paid for, because no one gives about them but me.
Who knows how much current shit will go up and down in price years from now.
The FOMO is strong with HasLab shit and that's what makes speculators buy them.... but mostly the early HasLab shit going for $$$$$$$ and thinking it'll happen again.
>>11474492Retool as Artic Dial Tone when?
>>11474816eBay fucker. Ebay
>>11475086you just have to be diligent
there's always eventually someone who has to sell all the shit they've collected over the years
>>11475116she looks older and more sinister than she should imo
>>11475123It's the nasolabial folds, they've been overdoing them on a lot of female figures including Legends
>>11475123Maybe it'll look fine on a shelf
>>11475148retro scarlett looked worse than her renders
retro cover girl is about the same
desu I don't see this as an improvement over the past versions of Jaye, I know people have a weird hate-boner for that figure's face, but I think it's fine
>>11475156I see it as an improvement. I didn't hate the original's face, but it's not at all what I think of when I think of Lady Jaye. The Haslab is much closer. Glenda ended up looking much better than I expected based off their Dragonfly unboxing, so there's no telling until it comes in.
>>11474483I wonder if they'll reuse the missile rack for a VAMP Mk.2
>>11474568>Kinda wanna say this could just be a $100 Hasbro Pulse exclusive$100 for a Classified HAVOC?! Are you nuts?!? That's a 250-dollar vehicle AT LEAST. It would be ridiculously big, like easily 2-feet long, and it's got the rocket-sled, which would be a whole second vehicle.
>>11474602A WHALE would easily be 500. But how about something like a Water Moccasin? That could be smaller and much more reasonable. They should do smaller vehicles like the Water Moccasin, the Devil Fish, Firebat, Armadillo, FANG, Skyhawk, or a set of PAC/RATs.
>>11474635At least in the movie, they were prone in the HAVOC cockpit.
>>11474928>>Neat, what other Joe's are referencesTunnel Rat is Larry Hama
Sgt. Slaughter is Sgt. Slaughter
Pretty sure Outback is Chuck Norris
>>11475120Those sausages will be a bad idea. They'll be used inappropriately.
I'm actually pretty impressed by the SnowCat. It looks great, its way bigger than I was expecting, and it is cheaper than I was expecting. I guess the only kinda blah thing about it is the little tent/outpost thing. Wish there had been another figure, but the seem to have backed away from putting 4 figures in after the HISS. And every one of these Haslabs seems like they have one kinda lame stretch goal.
I'm definitely getting this one.
I'm thinking another spike on Firday when the majority of Americans actually get paid because they don't know this is for a preorder that doesn't charge them till the campaign ends
It's happened before its not that crazy
>>11475266>Water MoccasinUnsure because of the Fortnight boat being so similar and also shelf warming
>>11475357I don't think that's a good comparison. That thing looked really cartoony, didn't have Joe branding or an included figure, and they probably overproduced it thinking the demand for Fortnite toys would be higher.
>>11475356Kinda weird, I'd think that this being the 4th Classified Haslab, people would know better by now.
The dumb part is that most people are waiting on other people, who are waiting on other people, who are waiting on other people, who are just trying to make sure the numbers get close enough to know for sure it is probably going to fund.

>>11475120I like that they added peg holes to the sausages so you can either have them in the frying pan or on the skewers. I love little world building bits and bobs like that. If I do back the Snow Cat that's the stuff that is going to win me over. I have over a month to decide if it's a must have for me or not though.
>>11475456 I would've liked if they'd put all the food crap with the tent and given Flint and Jaye more guns.
Now that Snow Cat has been backed, post some arctic joes you want for 2026.
>>11475640Replace karate Scarlett with an arctic one, I'll take all three.
>>11475640The '97 Artic Mission Team repaints of Iceberg, Snow Job and Blizzard would be easy.
>>11475370>The dumb part is that most people are waiting on other people, who are waiting on other people, who are waiting on other people, who are just trying to make sure the numbers get close enough to know for sure it is probably going to fundI never got that.
Since you don't get charged unless it funds the only thing the customer avoids by doing that is like six less emails
>>11475402>Scarlett's real name is Shana O'Hara>Scarlett... O'Hara (Gone with the Wind)Alpine's real name is Albert Pine.
Al...Pine.

Alaska was known as "Seward's Folly."

He sucks - Lewinski.
Am I the only one who pauses collecting for like 6 months so I can have a big satisfying catch-up period where I get like 10 different figures in one week instead of waiting for preorders?
>>11475683Torch, Buzzer and Ripper are Tom, Dick and Harry, and they're also Winken, Blinken and Nod (though the spelling isn't quite the same).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wynken,_Blynken,_and_Nod
Dusty and Cesspool were named after Hasbro employees, IIRC.
I think from previous threads here I've seen mentioned that Recondo was modelled on 80s Tom Selleck, and Road Pig on Dolph Lundgren.
Footloose finally came in.
>>11475797The 14th original Joe that was never produced was named after Marvel Editor in Chief Jim Shooter who actually died yesterday. (and wasn't a rando black lady like the much later retcon stated).
>>11475864Unironically while I like my random black lady with a cool gas mask I would love a fucked up scarred face white guy like the actual Jim Shooter as a figure.
>>11475906Pretty good, rifle is soft though, and he's a little tall. Leatherneck is quite short though
It's putting along slowly
>>11475929Why did they make him short
It's not like it could be a mistake right
>>11475967Likely just wasn't as big a priority for a character like him as opposed to someone like Roadblock. I am curious to see if the new Slaughter will be a good head swap candidate.
>>11475970I could see that if he was the same size as like Duke, but this seems purposely small
Does the GI Joe wiki list him as small or something? Power Rangers Lightning collect had a ton of errors on final figures that could all be traced to the wiki having bad info just because it was the first Google result
>>11475929Pretty weird, since in the 50th line, LEatherneck was one of the largest figures ever.
Hasbro overcompensating?
>>11475864I'm more interested in the bald unnamed guy in the top right.
>>11475864>>11475900In my lore, white Jim Shooter was her Dad, and she is mixed black. He also had a white son that became a sniper custom I used, but that's another factoid I created.
>>11475929I never realized as a kid just how fruity Dr. Mindbender looked
And apparently he just chooses to dress that way because nobody else at Cobra wears a uniform like that.

>>11476539TAKE ME TO THE GAY BAR, GAY BAR
Guys, I think it's Joever. 48hrs and still not backed. Troubling times in the collecting world with income uncertainty these days. Job loss just posted for June as well. Buckle up boys.
>>11476539Hell, look at Classified Heavy Duty's face sculpt. He looks sweet as fuck, totally on that DADT tip. It ain't N.W.A. or Da Lench Mob in them headphones.
This looks nothing like the prototype they showed, but it's still very good
>>11476857>>11476860>nothing like the prototype they showedLooks pretty close to me.
>>11476863Hard disagree, and promo shot face looks worse than the face she had at SDCC or whenever pic related was from, which was more refined in derail yet still somewhat stylized
Now this final version now looks like a photoreal scan
Complaining about BBTS feels like old hat at this point but...
>>11476867I really don't see enough of a difference here to be upset about, they've been using dot matrix printing for all their figures for years, they all have that look. And compared to the previous two Baroness heads, it's exceptional.
>>11476872I can't understand why anyone would care enough about Wolf Spider to spend more than retail on him
>>11476879Yeah, I said it was good.
But it's also different. She didn't look like Famke Jansen before.
>>11476884Well at least it's Famke Janssen from 30 years ago and not today.
>>11476879Wolf Spider is apparently an Army Builder right?
If it was Cobra it'd have robot spider legs or something...
>>11476937>Wolf SpiderI'm pretty sure he's just an Indonesian or Indian dude or something like that
He has an actual name and his last name Parna or Partha or something like that
>>11476872BBTS is just a LCS that's online. they've always bought up exclusives to resell for mark up after a years it's been discontinued. Only if they directly get exclusives from companies do they sell it around MSRP.
Another great thing about this baroness, if you take off all her gear, you see they sculpted the yellow bits for her cartoon look. This is 100% getting reused soon as blue cartoon baroness. Hope no one here is dumping the $160 she's going for on ebay right now.
>>11476958Very likely, but it will surely exclude the alternate hair pieces and I don't trust head sculpt reuse, that seems to be a 50/50 on whether it looks substantially worse than the original
Weird questionโฆ if I buy the slither set from someone at sdcc do they usually put those in a bigger box for shipping or do they just slap a shipping label on the Hasbro cardboard box (if it comes with one) and mail it?
I wish they hadn't canceled pve
It's okay baby, take as long as you need
>>11477245How long did the Rattler take? Was it like 3 days or a full week? I honestly can't remember even though I checked it every day.
>>11477266Pretty sure this is the first Joe haslab that hasn't funded within the first day. They probably knew that would happen though, this is a test to see if they can sell more niche offerings.
>>11477307yeah, unless this fails I think they'll repeat this next year with the Thunder Machine at 300--325
Desert Nomad Zartan, and maybe Zanya and Thrasher

I need the input of someone who collects a lot of military figures.
See, I want a Valaverse weapon pack and I can't decide which one. I like the variety of the Echo pack more, but Juliet has six grenades. Do you think I should buy Juliet because grenades are more uncommon and harder to find?
For example, BBTS is currently selling one GI Joe and two Valaverse figures with grenades, while guns can easily be found with cheap dollar store soldiers.
