Curious what other anons here think, it’s $155 and the timed edition is limited to 1,000. I think it looks pretty good and a nice spread of accessories, but the weird scale might ruin it for me.
>>11470188 (OP)I really like the Ein holding accessory, but they should have a separate Ein too
I’m not sure about the faces, not sure they captured the anime style as well as the SHF did.
But he goes up for preorder next Thursday, July 3 at 11am CT
1:8? So what's there excuse for this one?
>>114702721/8 is definitely a weird enough scale it makes me think they couldn’t get the license for either 1/6 or 1/12. But maybe they’re planning to push this scale, who knows.
>>11470188 (OP)Is Mondo American? Where outside the US is the cheapest to get their stuff? It feels a little overpriced
>>11470274You’re actually probably onto something, SHF still has Cowboy Bebop listed on their website and that was 1/12 and Threezero just released a 1/6 Spike last year and assuming they still have the license.
>>11470188 (OP)It looks good, but I'm not touching 1/8.

>>11470416There will be a non exclusive version down the road that’s probably $15-$20 cheaper and won’t include the “exclusive accessories”
his face is kinda off but it's better than the garbage shf I guess. If only it was 1/12
>>11470443The Spike SHF is actually good though.
>>11470188 (OP)Yeah, looks very good. Mondo's been doing some nice cartoon work lately, really hitting the style.
>>11470438I find it funny how early on we had companies making high-end articulated figures in these larger statue scales like Figuto, Guto-Kuro, and others that ultimately lost out to 1/12-ish/5inch-ish scale lines like Figma, Figuarts, and Revoltech. And now some of these lines have been creeping higher in scale and newer lines are being done in 1/10 and above.
>>11470929Too bad it’s always ridiculously overpriced. This and their Real Ghostbusters stuff.
>>11470188 (OP)Mondo is such a meme company, it's the soijack's choice now that it's not hip to like Super7
>>11470941Just stick to buying NECA if you can’t afford high quality toys.
>>11471380What is even the point of bringing this up? They replaced the heads for free you whining freak.
>>11471388Neca is high quality toys numbnuts.
>>11471667Has more range than the ghostbusters at least…
>>11470941>Too bad it’s always ridiculously overpriced.Yeah, 200 bucks for shitty vinyls, lol

>>11471671Vinyl has always been very expensive.
>>11471683No, vinyl is only expensive from these hipster faggot companies inflating the prices to because of the Japanese sofubi secondary market. It's usually cheaper per unit than an injection molded toy, but douchebags like Brian and the scumfucks at Mondo see what extremely limited sofubi sell for and inflate the price for their garbage.
>>11471708I mean the face isn’t great, but that play arts kai figure looks fun and sovl
>>11472104You just keep talking out of your ass. It's clear you don't understand anything about why things cost the way they do.
>>11472118Feel free to share some of the corporate PR spin from toy companies that you happily guzzle like it's your boyfriend's cum.
>>11472323That’s the bootleg on the right
>>11472426thats a brand new figure you retard there is no bootleg of it. Thats just how trash shf is. He's shelfwarming on amiami for that reason alone. Nice try however shill
>>11472428I'm sure your parents are so proud of your life choices toght now
>>11472430are you projecting because you got caught lying? Not my fault shf can't make toys
Can anyone here give me a non shitpost explanation as to why this brand is so god damn expensive
Their Rogue looked so good but I didn't buy it due to the price, being more expensive than MAFEX and SHF is so stupid
>>11472489hipster brand(I know it's an old term, but the brand started when hipsters were in full swing) that preys on small numbers and FOMO for sales.
I get why they were doing smaller numbers on more niche items, but when they're doing things that are clearly going to sell they have no reason not to produce more for cheaper besides playing the system.
>>11472489because it's 1/6 scale and no one gives a fuck about that doll shit
>>114724891/6 toys are much more expensive than 1/12 bro
not arguing worth because their stuff isn't comparable to what hot toys and the like are doing for the same money but it is what it is
>>11472599>not arguing worth because their stuff isn't comparable to what hot toys and the like are doingyet it costs the same for what is basically an upscaled marvel legend bootleg
>>11472600did you read what i said at all before typing your canned response retard
>>11472636oh cool a faggot ass mondo employee making excuses for this scam company and their fragile art piece dolls
>>11472639thank you for establishing that you don't read
I can't imagine being so upset over a figure you can't afford.

Surprised companies haven't milked Cowboy BeSlop more.
>>11477734I'm surprised you fucking faggots seem to forget the entire netflix debacle and bebop fans want a live action remake more than they'll ever give a shit about action figures

Holy hell, I was actually considering getting it, but $15 tariff surcharge and $30 for shipping on top of that??? $200 dollars for this? Yeah, no. Sorry, but there’s no possible way to justify this. The larger 1/6 Threezero Spike Spiegel was $169.99. Yes, granted he has a lot less accessories, but are going to say all these accessories make this thing $200? Nah, I don’t think so.
>>11477581Meh, most of them don’t attempt the green hair
>>11478560>>11477581Do you think Venom is blue, too?
>>11470272>>11470274>>11470391I started watching their stream and they say is because anime fans often collect 1/8? I never heard this before, what are they talking about?
>>11480709They mean rule 2 violators. There are a few 1/8 things like the Kotobukiya ARTFX Pokemon ones, but 1/8 is still pretty rare compared to 1/7.
Just put it down to Mondo being full of shit again.
>>11480709Statues are often in different scales based on seemingly nothing other than not wanting to go over a certain price range; statue collectors generally don't have the same sort of autism as action figure collectors with caring about scale. You see stuff going all over the place in scale from from 1/8, 1/7, 1/6, to 1/4. 1/8 is definitely less common than 1/7 and 1/6 but there is still a lot of it.
>>11480877Back in 2010 when I started collecting, I remember all the statue collectors on /a/ only cared about 1/8. 1/10 was considered kiddy toy shit and 1/7 was too big. I don't know what the statue collecting landscape is like now, though.
