Lego minifigs are just Funko Pops.

You collect for the characters, to have all in one unified style, rather than for the figure itself. If you're buying a set for an expensive minifigure, why would you just buy the mafex or shf of that figure? They really are just glorified funko pops.

When i was a kid, we had castle and space police and even power miners, but they don't have marketable characters, so lego killed them so they could sell glup shittos from star wars, like ahsoka.

Well they’re not just funkopops because funkopops don’t have the capacity to be anything else. Also because minifigs look a lot nicer than funkopops, I think they look nicer than most action figures which usually fall pretty hard into the uncanny valley. A lot of people do indeed treat minifigs as funkopops but other people mix them up and make their own stories and mocs with them, or even a lot of the licensed theme fans still make little stories and dioramas

For me its the classic Ninja Turtles ones. Its crazy how much articulation these little figs have and feel like quality.
