I found this Marvel Legends Toy Biz Ghost Rider with two particular things.

1. I've never seen a Marvel Legends Toy Biz box with French title
2. The figure itself is weirdly placed despite being "sealed"

This "variant" has more burned marks than the og figure

Is this a Knock off or just a french box?

A close up of his burned face, I've noticed the og figure has a clearer skull than this thing

without bothering to really research, I'm gonna go on a lark and say it's a Canadian release.
Thanks to Quebec, Canadian releases are required to have french text on the package.
This is why companies like Hasbro started splitting the difference and just packaging their toys with three languages(English, French, Spanish) so they could sell to all of the Us without worrying about shipping different package variants.
Because this was probably a separate run TB did to comply with these laws, there's some slight differences.

Canadian. These packaging changes were relatively common back then.

That same package would probably be like $60 now.

Toybiz was truly the Kenner of the 2000s.

Americans truly are retarded niggers that gave up hard work just so boomers could live in luxury and sell out future generations.

I still remember when $10 was overpriced at a comic/record store, and $20 was for premium items. I'm not going to defend today's prices, even $10 was less a loss compared to today's 20-$25. And Toybiz aged poorly

toybiz went bankrupt from failure to raise prices, which is why Hasbro is still around. Even Lego raised prices which is why they're a success

Most would just seethe out you for pointing as much out. The hobby as a whole has been overrun with brand-worshipping console warriors. Import stuff can be cool but we're at a point now where alot of this shit averages 60 to 90 bucks bare minimum. It's past ridiculous, but in turn, this is why CT Toys and the 3rd party scene have exploded as much as they have over the last few years. It's a real glass half empty, half full situation.

Speaking of there are atleast still /some/ figures that scratch the same itch as early toybiz. The Sonic 3 movie figures certainly did (and retailed for 12.99), and god knows playmates wont stop reissuing the classics tmnt anytime soon (and they seem to getcheaper with every subsequent release. You can get them for 10 bucks these days).

Don't care what you say but CT ain't worth it. They weren't bad for $15-$20 but now they're creeping into the $30-$40 mark and that's just not worth it for glorified bootlegs. Although I will say their Black Suit Spidey is interesting looking. But the QC varies too much imo, my brown suit Wolverine was great, but my Ben Reily Spider Man may as well be a knock off from any other company.
