How do you cope with Qc flaws on expensive toys?

I don't buy expensive toys. "import quality" is a meme.

Import quality being perceived as better than western figures isn't because the imports are good, it's because western figures are significantly more prone to qc and production problems.

Op having a minor flaw sucks, but that's an EXTREMELY minor flaw. You can't honestly expect everything made by humans to be perfect.

By being good at fixing them or ordering from a store that has good customer service. Most flaws are usually little smudges you can fix in seconds, anyhow.

Something minute like that I consider a personally unique feature and don’t mind if that’s all I get.

On the other hand,

If there’s a serious flaw like this and it’s visible I’d never buy it to begin with. If I only find out after purchasing because of retarded non-blister/windowless packaging then I’m returning it or contacting the company for the replacement part(s) for the poor QC component. At that point if the former I’d just buy second-hand with preview pics to ensure no visible QC issues.

if its a genuinely noticable flaw like fucked up face paint or a missing part yeah I'll try to get a replacement, but a speck of missing paint you can just fix yourself with a gundam marker bro

By trying to fix it and ruining the whole toy.

honestly at this point my cope has mostly been to stop. I have enough, I stopped impulse buying things just because it's a cool design and I have money for it. I can forgive a flaw on a thing I have a lot of sentimental value for over one where the presentation is the entire appeal.

By reminding myself that imports are inherently perfect thanks to superior Asian engineering, and therefore any perceived "flaws" are simply phantoms of my inferior Gaijin mind.

The same way I cope with everything: excessive crying and self loathing.

So long as its not too severe, I usually forget about it once the figure's been on the shelf long enough. Anything really bad and I'll return it/request replacement parts from the company if I can.

Depends on what it is. Paint stuff that isn't too minor doesn't bug me because it's simple enough to fix. Cases like >>11481647 are the annoying ones that I just return or refund. A broken part or missing piece are always big bummers but I've always been lucky enough to get replacements for by reaching out to the manufacturers, so that feeling of disappointment usually doesn't last for too long.

You're not wrong. I think Hasbro has mogged imports many times for a third of their price. With imports you are basically just paying for brand prestige or because it's the only way to get a certain character

I don't mind small paint defects at all really unless it's a bad eye fuck up, and even then, really depends on the fig
I do however get very annoyed by loose/tight joints, particularly loose joints
I've had a few figs that I can't get anywhere close to the poses you'd see in reviews of it even after applying lots of shock oil/kiki due to looseness

I live in Brazil, every figure is expensive, whether they're japanese, american, chinese, doesn't matter.
I try to see if I can return the figure but if there are shipping fees involved I just kinda live with it. If it's just a small blemish on a paint app I might even attempt to fix it myself, if the toy breaks as soon as I take it out of the package I'll glue it together and display it in the package.
