It's not just toys that I budget, but it all falls into the same category. Eating out, buying toys/games/other recreational items, leisure activities. Stuff like that. I allot myself a certain amount per month for fun stuff. I can afford more than allot for myself, but I find it better to limit my monthly spending on that kind of stuff and putting some money into savings to be more responsible. I own a house, I have random expenses that come up all the time. I had to call have a plumber come out yesterday because I somehow cracked a pipe in one of the spigots in my house while swapping out the hose bib. $320 later to cut off the top of the old pipe, above the crack, and to clamp on a new hose bib. And no, it wasn't something I could just repair myself since the pipe needed to be cut and resealed.

So yeah, I budget my toy purchases. It isn't really hard lately to keep under my budget since there just isn't a ton of stuff coming out that I want right now. In a few months, that'll be a different story, I have a bunch of pre-orders that are supposed to hit all at the same time at the start of October.

Man, I really do feel like this shelf is done now. I'm still on the fence about keeping my pre-order for the new Wolverine but I just really don't want another Samurai, especially when the first one I have looks better. I may get a new Beast if they do one, but only if it looks good. Otherwise, I think this shelf is done.

It's on the retailer to order enough to keep the item in stock. Hasbro has no control over how many units Target orders. Yeah, it sucks, but it's just the way it is. And luckily, for the most part, it's mainly exclusives, and Target exclusives at that, that actually have this problem. Regular releases hardly instantly sell out nowadays.

I would say no, he's a big figure sure, but not bulky. He's got more thin legs and arms which allows him to be more like an "upsized" ML rather than something like Thanos which has much bulkier legs and arms than the average Legend.

Correct me if this somehow isn't true for Hasbro, but my understanding of toy logistics says that the manufacturer orders a certain amount from the factory before the retailer is ever consulted, making the manufacturer Hasbro the one who determines total production run.

We can see examples of this with McFarlane Toys Walmart gold label "exclusives" later ending up at BBTS or EE for example because they had more than the retailer wanted (i.e. they sold like shit). An example was the Todd designed Wonder Woman primary red repaint which was originally Walmart exclusive, but turned up at BBTS and EE and maybe some other places just because Walmart never sold enough to do any restocks. There's also been cases where Walmart exclusives just ended up on McFarlane Toys Store later. And we know Todd does not do identical reruns of figures, so these had to be from the initial batch.

There have even been cases where we knew a figure was supposed to be exclusive to one place but it switched and became exclusive to somewhere else as well.
