Anyone ever try those StikBot things for stop motion?

Probably not. Stop motion is a very niche hobby, since it's basically a form of self-torture.

I did 10 years ago. Made quite a few. I always debated whether or not to buy the accessory packs with weapons. I stopped making stop motions though and 6 years ago I made slow mo videos of throwing rocks at towers I stuck them to. I still have all my stikbots, maybe I’ll post them

There were a few Moonshine Studios videos on Youtube years back that used a few of them.

Yup, this. Moonshine is probably the one person with notoriety who did stop motion with them. I've seen some other random vids from small channels using them years ago, but that's about it.

No, but to provide something of a mildly useless comment about this I actually saw a thread discussing this exact thing on /toy/ some years ago. An anon was arguing that Stikbots weren't really great for stopmotion because their articulation system and general design fundamentally don't play nice with the intricacies of stopmotion, e.g. making many many small, subtle changes to actually animate the character. I have no experience on this myself, so take with ample salt, but I thought they were good points.

a stickbot stop motion project literally just got recommended to me on YouTube. it was a little janky but cute, and they used an interesting glassy putty to simulate pouring water.

This. A Legends or something would be better for stop motion. It would be harder but look way better.
