They put *all* the effort into Aloy of all characters, then kinda just went middling with the rest.
The only one I would have been interested in was Jin Sakai, but they did enough wrong to convince me to just find the figma from a seller kind enough to use lube.

Playstation doesn't honor their classics outside of adding them to their Plus classic catalog. They're always about moving as forward as possible for the sake of progress. Also is Aloy and Kratos Jr doing actually good archery poses?

The Last of Us two pack's the only one I would've bought, but I'd have displayed them with my Neca video game figures and the line looked small even compared to most 1/12 figures. Then there were those ugly ab crunches, especially on Ellie, that was basically just the nail in the coffin for me.

The lack of adversaries in these sort of lines is really weird. I actually liked Horizon and would've gotten Aloy, but the whole appeal of the game is fighting the robot dinosaurs. A simple watcher would've been a good pack-in rather than all the extra faces and hands.

Anon, the people involved in these games don't care about what's cool or playability of a toyline. They only care about pushing a message and making the ugly women the main focal point of the series not the robots.

They don't look that good, except maybe Alloy.
They should have mixed in classic characters with newer characters. Make a Kratos figure from the original GoW instead of the new one for example.

Never played Ghost of Tsushima, but I wanted to get Jin because he looked like a cool samurai guy. I finally found him for a very good price. Even so, I found him to be a subpar figure and sold him a month later. The joints were stiff and limited. Sculpt was mushy. 2 of his three swords were immovable from their scabbards. And that damned mask would just not stay on. He's not even on par with Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black figures that came out 10 years ago. Very disappointing.

Mine turned out fine and I honestly think he's on par with Black Series quality-wise and even articulation wise. It's mostly the bland paint that lets it down.

Quality of the figures were low and they overestimate how much people care for these characters. Ghosts was good and all but how many people give a shit about Jin, enough to buy a figure? idk if he's that level of iconic. Same with Alloy. There wasn't some deep hunger for these characters like I see with Resident Evil. There wasn't a big market. Kratos there is, but only him. Playstation isn't a mascot company so I don't think they can sell characters like these, not enough to support a line. The most iconic characters that could sell "Crash, Spyro, Cloud, Lara" are not owned by them and aren't associated with their brand today. I don't think there's much of a market for this.

People who are old enough to financially plan around both buying games and physical toys to express their love of the property want things that they're nostalgic about. Modern God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and especially Horizon Zero Dawn (the most astroturfed IP in Sony's history) do not spark anywhere near the kind of nostalgia people have for scrimbo bimblo IPs from Sony's past. Hell, even classic Kratos would have been significantly more successful than reboot Kratos. None of these modern IPs are what shaped Playstation into the world phenomena it became, not in the slightest. There are so many more iconic characters than these. Ratchet and Clank, classic Kratos, a Hellgast soldier, Nathan Drake, Sly Cooper and his gang, and Jak & Daxter are all what I think of when I think about first party Sony IPs. Sony runs away from their past instead of celebrating it, and they want to treat the right now as if it's the only thing that matters even if it's something nobody gives two shits about like Horizon or Last of Us Part 2.

Is the line dead? It's not like we couldn't get more 90s and 00's characters if they kept it going. I have Joel and Ellie and Aloy and I think they're pretty good. Still want to get Jin. Already have figures for some classic game characters from Neca like Crash, Spyro, Dante, Nathan, Joel and Ellie. Play Arts Lara and Premium DNA Banjo Kazooie figures.

I feel like Playstation associated characters already have figure lines like Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid. Only thing I can think of that I would really want would be a Resident Evil line and capcom is really anal about RE for some reason.

None of these are iconic, all are just dudes. TLOU was generation defining in that it ensured everything became movie games but Joel and Ellie do not have readily identifiable designs.
>PS4: horizon, etc
You couldn't even think of a second thing? Jesus. Aloy is only iconic for being a fridge.
