Does anyone like these? They still seem to be marketed toward kids compared to the 6-inch and 4-inch figures. Are they a better value? Bigger and cheaper, but is the quality still good? I've never had one before, but I'm kind of interested in getting the Superman from the new movie. Is it worth it?

>quality
they are marketed to kids so they are sturdier and would require a lot of abuse to break.

while i'm not interested in these style of figures the DC ones seem like the better deal, they have ball jointed shoulders, heads, elbows, hips, knee joints which allows for more playability.

the Marvel ones are swivel hips, shoulder and ball jointed head. and do not look good.

Yep.
I was at an LCS in a bad neighborhood in my county, since I never collected floppies and I stopped buying collections, I only looked at their toys. They had a Titan that was a decent likeness of the MCU Cap so I bought just to buy something but ended up donating it to one of those Holiday toy drives.

Whereas I kept the two different Justice League Action only because I liked the cartoon, they were used/cheap (Goodwill), and yeah they have more posability.

I bought the one from the Flash solo movie because it lights up and also speaks. I don't normally buy these and it pretty much sits on my bookshelf behind my regular collectible action figures - but this is mostly because I do collect regular (and varied) Flash. You might actually like buying this Target exclusive, since you would four 6" figures including the dog and can donate what you don't want to keep?

I was actually really surprised with this one in particular. It's much better than the usual 5poa stuff.

Anybody know the prices of higher import stuff in their own countries? Are they viewed as budget there?

Parents are buying playsets and, since we're talking about Superman movie toys here, or for the Cap movie (since I actually never saw parents buy or really ever saw any Thunderbolts cap) Captain America related playsets for kids. However, some of those are white cap or white cap with Spider-Man and not specific to the recent movie. And for the Supes movie, there are several sets, some of which are cheap ($15) but both the WalMart and Target exclusive sets are in the 30-40 range and I've seen parents buy those for kids.

I think they are viewed as affordable. But Japan doesn't have collectors that do shit like shove 50 figures into one fucking shelf and crowd them all in.

If you see some of the toy photography threads on here, you can get an idea of what some of these people do and I'd say that's common for non-USA.

Also, collectors in say say India or the Philippines are also still paying import prices to Japan buy the same kind of things as some import collectors do in the EU or USA, just maybe less so since there's no stupid tariff bullshit.

You are right that the behavior that causes people to do shit like horde or to collect unnecessary crap like bottle caps or pencil nubs is fairly universal as a psychosis, so it would exist anywhere, even Japan.

But people in North America (since I'm including Canadians and others as well) are particularly bad at shelves of dusty crap all crowded in and not even poses. The Japanese will at least do video arcade or wall paper diorama or similar before they even think to shove more than a handful of figures together on a shelf.

I like the scale, I always did when i was a kid, it was great because at the time Toybiz did super poseable rotocast figures and those were really nice. Then after Toybiz went bust 12" kinda died until Hasbro's Titan Hero figures, and the first few years were total garbage, around 2017 they started making them a little better but Hasbro's still are pretty crap

for spinmaster specifically I have the armored Superman, it's slightly more deluxe and comic based figure but generally pretty solid, i've also had their The Batman and Selina Kyle, they're all toys first and foremost and cheap, so don't expect the highest quality, but if you just wanted a tall supes, this one should be fine.
