A thread dedicated to Chap Mei, whose budget action figures dominated the 90's-00's.

I miss when Big Lots carried the single carded figures, I got a lot of good ones from there.

The only place I still see chap mei product is Family Dollar. Even walmart has seemingly dropped them. Most of their generic toy offerings skew towards younger kids these days aside from a few noteable dinosaur and marine life playsets.

Big Lots is where I got all my GoBots. Also at one point in time they had an entire wall of the final wave of the original TMNT series. The ones that are now some of the most valuable figures of the era. Scratch, Hotspot, the Giraffe, and the white jersey basketball Donatello. Hundreds of them.

One of my top favorites they made they actually released a bunch of times. First as a psudo-Mortal Kombat ripoff as Ninja Hero of the Dark, then repainted to be a Dino Thunder/Ninja Storm Power Rangers ripoff as Dino Power Ninjatron/Ninja Attack. The figures are fantastic no matter which version you get, though. Take this guy for example, all the weapons he comes with aside on just the figure itself has multiple removable shrunken, a removable knife, and also a swivel shoulder cannon. And they did not skimp on the paint with any of these figures, and many of them have removable armor as well. Honestly, they're some of my favorite figures of all time.

Let's not forget that they were built solid, too. You weren't gonna snap a limb off or anything.

wtf this looks like a Battlestar Galactica knockoff

I mean it's obviously not, but the packaging has a lot of the same design cues as the Trendmasters toyline and the dude's even got chrome like the cylons
