>>11491885>>11492992My Pink Land came in the mail today, so I've been giving it a go. A complaint I have when it comes to the dial isn't the shape or anything, but rather how much you have to commit to turning to actually change zoom levels. Oftentimes I'll do a quick flick to enter the inner layers, and the device will clearly read my inputs since it zooms in halfway before backing out again.
Unfortunately, my hopes of getting Dekababymarutchi were immediately squashed by the fact that his stats apparently deplete at a ridiculous pace (losing hunger every 5 minutes), rendering him a joke character. On the bright side, old characters you've raised will stick around as NPCs, so I can have him around as a friend, just not as the active main Tamagotchi.
Something I do like about the Paradise is how lived-in the world feels, even if there's no TamaTown-like society and it's mainly nature, seeing things happen in that outdoors space feels a lot less confined than the Smart and Uni's almost insular world. I also like the fact that previous Tamagotchi you raised stick around, while I know the theming is specifically to create your own wildlife, I like that the past guys you raised actually matter and don't go away-- earlier entries were very hit or miss with this with only the Plus/Connection-era's respective tie-in apps and websites (along with v4's Cell Phone item) and the gene mix entries' babysitter parallel actually using past gens in a meaningful way.
All that said, I find it curious how Pochitchi in particular still uses the Connection-to-Uni era artstyle for his sprites when every other legacy character has been redesigned in one way or another. He looks nothing like his official art, and while I'm glad he's the same as ever, it makes me wonder what the reason is.
