>>11496851Considering that the Pirates 3 theme came out right in the middle of shooting that movie (for which development became back in 2011), it is entirely possible that it was the same license that was renewed from that first wave of PotC Lego. And Disney is known to be even more protective of their in-house properties, so if such a clause existed, it most likely would have prevented Pirates 3 from being made.
Of course, this is all conjecture.
What I want is evidence that Disney is stopping Lego from making another Space theme, because without evidence that claim is also conjecture. Especially since the "releasing a sci-fi Space theme as a subset of City" loophole wouldn't stop Disney from going hack with their lawyers. And all the other Classic Space sets that have come out since Disney acquired Star Wars. Yes, I know, it's fuck all, but do you think a company that went full litigious on the parents that gave their dead kid a Spiderman tombstone will let that shit slide?
