>>11497600Imagine whining about "missing frames" when anime has been doing this for the entire history of the industry. It can be both a cost saving measure AND a stylistic choice if done properly. This whole "missing frame" criticism came about when moronic gamers tried to apply their expectation of 60FPS at all times into anything animated in 3D.
It's also why YT is flooded with awful 60FPS conversions of anime openings, music videos and fight scenes. Morons actually think that shit looks "fire" because it's "so smooth" despite it creating disgusting visual artifacts all over the place and destroying the original artwork.
Simply put, if done poorly "missing frames" actually does look bad in both 2D and 3D. When done with artistic intention it's a non-issue that is 100% necessary to keep budgets under control. Throwing excessive money at every project is how you close down studios and destroy all potential profits. Yes, the animation studios need profit.
