I bought the first upscale minifig because it was pretty cool. Then my friend went to Lego House and got me the Pirate one. I also made one of Emmet thanks to someone on Rebrickable. If it's of a minifig I like, I'll buy it, but I don't care about a racecar driver or Santa. I might change my mind if it looks cool though. I will say they are losing money by not making a classic spaceman like this.

Pokemon will eat up the whole wave. I hope the MOTU movie playsets are actually happening. I may not get them since I collected the Mega ones, but I hope it's more than a big Grayskull or Snake Mountain or whatever and there are some smaller playsets. I don't think the molds are expensive, but I do think the storage ability of the Lego factory warehouse is a concern. making another 50 inventory positions to store unique pieces is why we didn't get more Animal Crossing characters (which would be simple re-colors of already molded heads)

I read this was from a licensing document dated September 2024 with the PDF containing angles of the entire ship and individual pages for every single minifigure and print as well as a whole section dedicated to the GWP that is coming alongside it. it's based off the Netflix version so there's not enough characters to do a CMF yet. they wouldn't do a CMF with OP anime characters, it would be confusing for all the normal people who only saw the Netflix version, and those anime figures would look different than the eventual live-action versions, creating a mess.

I can sympathize with the anime fans who finally see their show in Lego, but... not quite like they wanted. most of the adjustments are color swaps and re-prints to torsos. Luffy needs a bright yellow hat, Nami needs um... a chest, but for the most part, it's kinda good (?) but at this point, they already have molds for the hat... why not just do it in the right color ARGH!
