Strictly speaking there's nothing stopping Larry from just telling everyone off, going home, and starring at the ceiling all day until he dies. He doesn't have a job, and doesn't do anything, despite constantly being out and about.

Which perfectly illustrates the existential problem with being rich and retired. If you have no goals or purpose, you will be unhappy.

Larry's character is an extremely petty person and his wealth has made him bored. The only thing he enjoys anymore is attaining minor personal victories in extremely insignificant scenarios, because it's the one thing money can't buy.
