>After a man gets lost in an underground passage, strange things start happening to him. Is this space real? Or an illusion? Will the man be able to escape the passage?
Yep, saving to my watchlist.
>>212613510 (OP)>coming to theaters in New Zeeland and AustraliaThat's very specific how is anyone even supposed to watch this.
>>212613510 (OP)This is based off of a shitty indie "horror" game
>>212613510 (OP)Looks intriguing, will watch
>>212614922existential horror. this looks promising, when indies used to have strong idea + execute it without scamming our time.
>>212614922Of course it is.
No japanese film threads on /tv/ are about anything remotely decent. They're always about one of three things
-terrible game/anime adaptations,
-ironic/insincere "let's all laugh at this crap"
-coomer nonsense
>>212613510 (OP)looks like a cool concept
the execution looks like shit
>>212613510 (OP)So its a mix of the backrooms and those shitty AI-generated "I'm a [job position] in a [building]. There are STRANGE rules to follow" youtube creepypastas
Yeah it was fun for a 20 minute video game, but how the fuck will they stretch this into a movie?
>japan
>>212618126the real monster are humans and society
Come on.
Really?
It's not a horror game.
It's a neat little puzzle game.
Is it literally going to be Exit 8? Like is he going to go, "Oh, the signs are shrinking, I need to turn around."
"All smiles, today, eh? I'll turn around."
*BANG
"That's not normal! I'll turn around!"
>>212613510 (OP)Wow so it's that one scene from The Matrix except stretched out over a whole movie. How creative
>>212618961No the real monsters are the several million Arkvelds and Gore Magalas. So pick up a lance.
>>212613510 (OP)They should make the movie interactive. Retain the same basic find-the-difference mechanic from the game. For every room, the viewer has two choices: proceed or turn around. This would be very easy to implement with DVDs.
Considering this is based off a viral indie game, it could be worse. honestly could make for a fun <90 minute flick.
I recently watched "Kisaragi Station" and "Resort Beit" (aka "Nightmare Resort"), both based on 2chan creepypastas. I liked them. Resort Beit was better made but Kisaragi Station was a bit funny, in a good way.
As an aside, if you want comfy low-key Japanese films, I recommend "Melancholic" which I also recently watched.
>>212619916the backrooms is another one that'd make fun <90 minute romp. I think its only when they try to stretch a concept like that out to 2 hours+ that it gets stale unless there's some serious creative force behind it.
>>212620091The backrooms were at their best near the start when it was zoomer creepypasta recorded on a gopro and they made 15 minutes short movies out of it (the length limit where you don't need to have any script).
>>212620185yeah thats fair, like i said, they need to keep it short unless they actually have the talent backing it up
>>212613510 (OP)Solid premise but Japanese overact. It's fucking irritating.
>>212620878didn't see any over-acting in the trailer
>>212620878nah they just panic easily
>>212613510 (OP)zoomer horror
what's next/ a sirenhead feature film?
>>212621801idk
even in favorites like Battle Royale it's just packed with their subhuman style of acting
>>212618961Valid criticism of Japanese society
