Kingdom of Heaven is a load of crap. Even the director's cut is merely "watchable".

That character was a literal angel.

I wish any half-decent actor had Bloom's role. It would have saved the movie.

So that's why ancient sites are filled with pottery shards. The shards are actually weapons more efficient than anything made out of metal.

i understand this thinking when it comes to something like DUNC with zendaya, but how can Bloom be that bad the movie needs saving because of him? is it because hes in some gay kissing scene that im not aware of? its not like hes as kino as liam neeson or any of the supporting characters but for me thats not really what makes the movie so great in the first place. some movies depend on characters more than others, like goodfellas or heat having bad leads would totally can them, but kingdom of heart is a history epic. its got a lot going on, beautiful cinematography, score and so on. great for anyone into history, but not so into history they sperg out over a certain character being shorter then they really were, or a date being different. frankly i dont get engrossed in anything orlando bloom says in any film he's in. i get him being bland but I wouldn't say he sabotages anything entirely.

Bloom's role was unsalvageable, because the character of Balian was so dramatically changed from the actual history, and in a way so uniquely early-2000s, that there was no way to make him fit in the world he was supposed to be in.

The real Balian was a man in his late-40s who lived his whole life as a nobleman in the Holy Land. The whole thing in the movie about him being a bastard who grew up in France and only leaned who he was a few months before the war with the Saracens was a fabrication. And he was Sibylla's uncle, not her lover.

Orlando is ok as an actor itโ€™s not his fault balian is solely there to be a mouthpiece for some insane point about humility the director was trying to make.

>A King may move a man, a father may claim a son, but remember that even when those who move you be Kings, or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.

One time in highschool I found out my history teacher was gonna make us watch this film, being a giga sperg I asked if it was the directors cut, she didn't know what that was
As we were watching it, I realized very early on it was the theatrical cut cause of all the cut scenes and I couldn't take it. I love the directors cut, its not perfect but I really love it and I didn't want to stain my love for the film by watching the full theatrical cut so I just walked out. I told the teacher I couldn't stand it and ditched the class.
The teacher was dumbfounded and she got mad at me the day after but it was worth it.

then you refuse him and do as you please.
when your fellow Israelites take the canaanite women as wives many of them will fall in love with them and the wives will introduce them to the canaanite gods.
when the children grow up they too will need wives and husbands.
all this will create division in the Israelite tribe.
those who meshed with canaanite culture/gods/genetics and those that didint.
obviously the israelites will hold most of the power and wealth of the land as the conquerors.
which will enrage many of the cannanites and cause them to plot, scheme and struggle against israel for stealing their birthright.
the mischlings likewise will find themselves treated coldly by pure Israelite society because many of them have influences from the foreign canaanite gods and culture.
which will create feelings of unfairness and rage in their hearts and cause them to scheme, plot and struggle against israel.
when a foreign and a powerful enemy invades israel these groups will take the opportunity, rise up and collaborate with the foreigners.
the mischlings for their service will become new administrators and rulers of now the region of judea or palestine or israel or whatever.
they will exact their revenge on the israelites and take back their wealth, their birthright, from the evil conquering thieving oppressors.
you being an old man at that point you will only be able to watch in horror as you collapse and die of heart break.
as you die the last thing you hear is hysterical laughter and the last thing you see is the angels of god doing fortnite dances on your corpse.

Fun fact: this guy is a member of the Knights Hospitaller. Unlike the Templars, who were infamously disowned and destroyed, the Hospitallers stuck around long after the Crusades were over.

And, in fact, they're still around to this day. This is what they're like now:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_Military_Order_of_Malta

Also, as their name suggests, they are the inventors of hospitals as we know them.
