The intent was a chinese second generation canadian venting about her parental issues by making a movie where she is the coolest and she shows her mom how cool and right she was and then the mom said sorry for everything and then they went to that cool boyband.

You see, I totally agree with that and I think that "I will only create something that I can personally and completely relate to" is the death of creativity.

But people have to stop kvetching at the mere mention of a period.

It's just Asian women that have that. Notice the family dynamic compared to Elemental, written by an Asian guy. Ember respects and loves her parents so much that the conflict is her disappointing them by not wanting to take the store, vs. not wanting to take the store because she feels it's beneath her and she has bigger ambitions like if a woman would have written it.

My theory is that Asian females were reduced to such absurd levels of subservience (only slightly above Muzzies) that they went nuts when the slightest hint of feminism infested their society.

They do have to have some kind of point or theme though. Otherwise there's literally no reason for them to exist. If you were an artist you would know the difference. You can make a movie that's light on theme or meaning sure, but you need some artistic reason - even some meta shit that doesn't appear in the film itself.

The perfect example of why is the slice of time and happenings taken out of the entire Star Wars universe and history in the original film, (and it feels like the best most dramatic one out of a larger world and timeline) versus talentless Disneyfags coming along and thinking they can just make a show/movie with characters anywhere in that universe just doing whatever meandering meaningless shit and people will give a flying fuck. Nope.

Alternatively they think they can warp that universe to push whatever agenda they have like tranny robot rights or whatever the girl boss shit. But then it's not the Star Wars everyone knows and loves is it?

Either way, that is why you fail.

For the retards in the back, the motivating reason is HOW an artist decides which things to put in the story and which events and characters to exclude.

Take a movie like 'Empire Records'. That's movie is much ado about nothing, and not trying to end world hunger or anything. Given those characters and setting, you could write a story about them working in a record store any day of the week and it might be mildly interesting. But why choose Rex Manning Day? Why start with Lucas taking the money to Atlantic City? Why even bother showing the events with Warren?

The fags running Disney at the moment couldn't even answer these basic questions, let alone figure out a good story if you told them to make a movie about a bunch of angsty teenagers working in a record store for a day. Why they can literally buy the massive Star Was universe yet not seem to find anything else interesting in it.

So they'd be totally fucked even making the setting feel in any way real or relatable if it they were told to populate a record store full of characters. You'd just wind up with boring, irrelevant, disconnected bullshit, with the lamest motivations and reason for even existing. The audience can see that, feel it.

The first trailer with the nigger stormtrooper taking off his helmet in the desert is a good example of something that superficially seemed like it was something, but just turned out to be a big nothingburger with no point, but to put a nigger in a stormtrooper outfit because artless dumbshit reasons.
