I have gone to the movies alone a lot. Its really not a big deal. you cant talk to anyone anyway. I go in the middle of the day during the week.
I haven't been to theaters since Top Gun Maverick though. Nothing worth seeing and theaters fucking suck.

All the time. Sometimes I don't want to have to plan around a bunch of people who make the whole thing into an annoying ordeal. Going early in the morning by yourself is one of the coziest things, especially on weekdays.

In general I prefer to watch films alone because the social aspects of watching with someone else tend to take my focus away from the film itself.
But funnily enough I've only gone to the theater due to social reasons during the past decade+ since not a single ticket-worthy film has come out recently.
