It would’ve been better if it ended with Harry by himself facing down Voldemort and his entire army and he’s prepared to go into a losing battle and suddenly he hears “on your left” and every student and teacher teleports in and all the quiditch teams from every school come flying in on broomsticks like 2 army’s about to go to war and the music swells up and they charge at each other.

To add to this. It would’ve been neat and the 7th book played with multiverses and we got a Harry Potter from several other universes join our Harry’s universe and formed a Harry team made up of 6-8 Harry’s. It would’ve illustrated how Harry in every universe is willing to fight to the death for the greater good. Maybe a Dumbeldor variant could’ve helped too. It would’ve got a big pop in the theatre to see Dumbeldor go ham on voldemorts army.

It wasn’t even that. Order of the phoenix was the highest grossing HP movie up until that point. That is ultimately what it all comes down too. Box office. He was hired again and said yes and Half blood prince made just as much money. Reviews were strong and box office was strong and so the studio and director had a healthy relationship. Why would they try to fix something that wasn’t broken? He was hired for fantastic beasts because DH part 1 and 2 each made over a billion. This was at a time where a billion dollars was still extremely rare and very impressive.
