Episode 4 and 5 are in a league of their own. All other Star Wars is slop.

There's no star wars in A League of Their Own, it's a baseball movie. You didn't even fucking watch it so maybe judge star wars films on some other criteria

ep 4 is the best and when it came out it was called simply 'star wars'
all rest sucks. 5 is in fact very boring nonsense thanks to splitting main heroes for half of the movie

4 and 5 are indeed in a league of their own, but all Lucas SW films have something to offer.
ROTJ: Jabba's Palace is classic Star Wars. The Emperor's Throne room scene is irritatingly interrupted by the crosscutting to the Ewok narrative, but is still enjoyable.
TPM: Very strong and distinct visual design – no other film looks like The Phantom Menace. Sound design for things like pod engines and blasters is on par with the OT. Most of the CGI holds up well, with a few exceptions (like Jabba).
AOTC: As the name suggests, it introduces the clones, and when the film was new it was interesting to wonder how the clones would transition into stormtroopers. It also has a very good chase sequence through Coruscant.
ROTS: I don't need to defend this one, it's just good in general.

I liked the first one the best. And by first I mean episode 1. The stages of the plot are burned into my head, agnostic of plot details, which I didn't appreciate due to my age, and which I don't really care about. I don't think you are supposed to care too much about it even as a le media literate adult. It is not well constructed in the way the greats of high fiction. You are supposed to be thinking stuff like
>wow, look at all those cool aliens discussing their alien U.N. stuff, nice, I love the hover platfo- oh look, more coneheads!
What George did great was layer it for audiences of different ages and ways of looking at the world. The true kids saw something different than the horny adolescent types who saw something different than the lorepooter pseud types. I don't think episode 4 had that type of layered experience. Millions say it's for better, but it's a more focused and straightforward story that is seen and discussed the same way between adults and kids and pseuds alike, everywhere, it seems to me. It is a core heroes tale, where 1 is truly a part of something more complicated, which is incomplete without the rest of the story, and which includes various elements which exclude or demands the attention of different types of people at different moments. The subtlety and subdued nature of romantic tension, reduced to nothing but schizo foreshadowing based on glances, due to the age Anakin is depicted as, is kino. Certain people will be hypersensitive to that shit like a shark tracking a drop of blood in the water and those people don't really give a damn what the trade federation alien is jibbering about. It serves different stuff for different people with subtlety, by avoiding being autistic about anything except for the youngest age group (which got Jar-Jar, which worked brilliantly for kids, much to the chagrin of the other groups). Episode 4 just had the hero kiss the hot girl because that's what happens because it's that kind of movie. Is what it is.

Also the order of plot beats after Han shoots is weak in my head for episode 4 compared to episode 1. It's just action stuff rolling into itself. Episode 1 stops and breathes and immerses you in little thingies every step along the way, like George realized exactly what I'm saying and was just waiting to pounce on the technology affordability curve to make it better than the limitations presented by the core hero tale tradition which says "movie does what the movie does next because it's the kind of movie that does that".

Rogue One is the only Star Wars movie worth watching. Eat a dick.
