This episode was dogshit. This show has been getting worse season by season and clearly they ran out of ideas already. Also doing the "obsessed fan stand in" on a show that isn't even four years old seems super indulgent. It's not good if a show already feels like it is going through the motions by season three, and I wonder if this will be the last one.

The only thing I enjoyed was hearing David Firth voice acting another character, that's it.

It's not even just that they don't have enough story, there's not even enough jokes or visual gags. All three new season episodes have felt very flat on joke density compared to the previous seasons. I hope the next episode picks up again but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, I feel comfortable saying this was the worst episode of the show so far (unless you count the Brazil episode but that was shit on purpose lmao). I'll see how the rest of the season pans out before going all doom and gloom but if the rest of them are like this I'll agree that SF has run its course.

Huh I actually thought this was the funniest episode of the season so far. The episode follows an obsessed fan who stops caring about Pim and Charley the instant he finds a woman. I saw it coming pretty early and I found everything very funny in that context.

Episode three was the funniest by far. But I agree it's way too early in the series for a stalker episode. I do love how Allan enunciates "What the fuck".

I feel like they were going for a joke about how modern cartoons have consistently been having more deranged, fucked up main characters to try and one-up each other for edginess (i.e. Rick and Morty, Hazbin Hotel, arguably Digital Circus) and they just used Smiling Friends to represent that composite, but it doesn't fit because the first thing everyone notices about Smiling Friends is the characters actually being normal (besides Mr. Boss).

This joke comes off as the writers being bitter their show in no longer relevant to younger viewers. The average Zombie Simpsons live viewer must be in their sixties. Meanwhile Smiling Friends fans are in their teens and twenties. I don't even think Gen Alpha can appreciate 90's Simpsons because the world they're growing up in is so different.

Boring premise and too few jokes. None of the material is inherently awful, it's just VERY stretched out and it feels like the episode has half an episode's worth of plot.

I feel like the fact that every episode has to have a "happy ending" with a smile limits the plots. It would have been much funnier if moleman had some kind of "bad ending" or comeuppance. Like for fuck sake this is just a rehash of the shrimp ending.

The Mr. Frog one deserved a downer ending instead of him finding enlightenment from an asspul. The last shot should have been him walking into a room with a noose and saying "hallo". Cut to black. No ending theme music. No brick joke post credits scene.

Yep, and that one was funnier too because it had the actual joke of Pim's blindness making him mix up Shrimpina with some random girl working at a cafe. There was actually a buildup to the punchline, and Shrimp was actually a client of the Smiling Friends. Mole Man literally just bursts into the secondary plot and the woman likes the look of his penis, that's it. And Mole Man isn't even a client, so it's not like they needed to make him smile. He absolutely could have gotten a bad ending and it would have worked. Hell, what about this? Someone catches a look at his penis and finds it weird, sending him into depression, and the Smiling Friends have to somehow convince him that his penis is fine while avoiding being gay. That's more of a SF plot, surely.

Celestial, transcendent being talking about mundane issues is honestly just reddit humor and it's been done to death. The only time I can recall finding it mildly funny is in American Dad when Roger ended up getting souls to leave Nirvana by reminding them about tv shows they were missing.
