It'll double your locomotion animation budget for your character at the very least because 3rd person animations don't look good in first person and vice versa.
But it's also not a great idea design wise.
i.e.
A first person game might have realistically sized rooms whereas in third person you need to accommodate for the camera so everything is usually 1.25x bigger. A claustrophobic room in first person would be nearly unplayable in third person and a claustrophobic room in third person wouldn't be claustrophobic in first person. Now add in enemies to the mix and aiming and all that shit and it becomes a design nightmare.

Sure, there's nothing inherently wrong with live service games, it just depends on how it's done, for example you have games like Call of Duty which or Overwatch which are examples of it being done poorly, with pay to win emotes/skins/weapons for Call of Duty, and Overwatch releasing content too slowly, poor balance, etc, and then on the flip side you have games like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals both of which don't have any of those problems at all whatsoever.

Resident Evil games usually never get any major mod support, and one of the key features of Resident Evil 5 and 6 was full co-op in the campaigns, if you Resident Evil 7 not only had the consistent budget, and content releases of something like Marvel Rivals, but even better and more polished gameplay with a decent grind, you could absolutely see what could be compared to Japan's Warframe but in my personal opinion, in a much better setting both visually and thematically.

We could have absolutely gotten ourselves on a wonderful supported game with potentially thousands of hours worth of content and fun and even still being supported to this day, in fact, we could have even had built in expansions and updates that even had horror first person spin-off titles similar to RE7-9 built into the game as optional modes, similar to how Fortnite has different game modes built in aswell.

So yes, this isn't even hard to defend, and you will have no argument against this, Resident Evil could have been a product that was a household much more so than it is now, and even being on the same level of Fortnite.
