I was convinced by my high school friends that FIFA 13 was gonna be amazing to play together on Xbox Live. I played one match with them and was so upset that I laid, like, £30 that I left the party chat and played a singleplayer game. I don’t know why I was convinced in the first place anyway because I don’t even like football.

Perfect Dark, don't get me wrong I played almost thousand hours with bros and shit but could finish the area 51 escape mission on perfect agent.
Could beat it later with the pc port but felt like cheating with the mouse aiming.

Most of my childhood consisted on buying 2$ pirated copies from some shady dude that was friends with my dad, i don't recall ever getting mad at some game, i even remember enjoying that lame mario party clone winnie the pooh game for the psx......hold on..actually i do remember getting mad at pic related but only because the game copy was bugged and i could never get past the first boss because the moment i unlocked Sam pyramid the game just frooze and it was permanently stuck there until reset, it always pissed me off how i could never get to the other time levels up until i pirated the pc version some years later.

Phantasy Star 2.
I loved 1 and 4, but had somehow never played 2 and 3. When I finally got 2, it was a massive disappointment: so much WORSE than the first, in spite of the better hardware. No battle backgrounds, unpleasant music, insane difficulty, grindy like hell, terrible writing. Seriously: the whole backstory of all characters was not in the game, but in a series of Japan-only downloadable text adventures.

Pic related, Forsaken on the N64. Between the controls and the dogshit controller the n64 had it made me mad I wasted some of my summer job money on it. A year later I sold it all and built my first pc, haven't touched a console since then.

Agreed. Fallout NV was my favorite game ever as a 13 year old and I was so fucking hyped for 4. They got rid of all of the writing that made NV so fucking good. The looters shooter shit and voice lines made me so damn mad.

Croc is one that comes to mind. I remember kid me thinking it looked similar to a Spyro game but oh man was I so wrong. I never bothered to finish the game. I have no idea how anyone later thought it deserved a remaster.

I remember spending my last few dollars on this in highschool. It was the last money I had from my summer job, drained my bank account to 0 and wouldn't have money again for a while because I was in highschool. There isn't even a game here, I don't even understand how they sold this shit. It felt like a modern early access steam game that got abandoned in pre-alpha except it was a physical console game. Turned me completely cynical to games and I never bought another game blind just by the cover ever again.

Eh the only one I'm half miffed about is buying GW2 together with a friend for him to literally bail on it after 1 session. He was all in on the idea. Convinced me to buy it. We played for the entire day then k asked "so same time tomorrow?" And he's like "nah not feeling it" and then we never played it again. I don't know what I expected. I always borrowed my friends GBC Pokemon pinball at sleepovers and played it. I just got so frustrated I think I literally threw the cartridge out. I'm just not into games with no win state.
