No, it's not weird. As a game Blue Reflection: Second Light might be more polished, have better gameplay and it's a fact that it's a longer game, but the atmosphere and soundtrack of the first game, not to mention story, are things that some people may say that are better in the first game compared to the sequel.

Is the sequel any good? I liked the trappings of the first game but the combat was god awful because it was too easy, but also unskippable.

The short version is: It has better combat (if you prefer action combat or ATB combat that is), better graphics and better, more polished gameplay and mechanics...however, the story is very different compared to the first one (it's kind of like a sekai game actually), the performance is inferior in the sense that it runs at 30fps and not 60fps (at least on consoles), it has less battle music and it has less suggestive content or fan service compared to the first game (it doesn't even have ''Partial Nudity'' as one of its content descriptors unlike the first game)...also, Yuzu and Lime aren't playable characters.

I consider it a better game but...it's complicated, some people prefer the first game.

Blue Reflection would've been better if they had aggressively ripped off Persona's calendar and day-to-day life systems instead of the shallow version it had in the first game.

The story of the game is crappy though, it's just Hinako herself that is a really good character. And you can count them as separate, 2nd light's plot was engaging enough and Ao was a good character too.
Good thing is that Hinako isn't stuck in the first game and she's still best girl in 2nd light.

I picked this up on the current steam sale, and I'm enjoying playing it, the music is great, and it is very pretty to look at.

This game was bad and every single thread for this game is just the same pictures being posted over and over of nude young girls with the OP who keeps making them clearly trying to lure coomers and groomers to buy it. There's actual porn games on Steam which are cheaper than what Gust is expecting you to pay for this shit and they have more gameplay
