Because nobody plays these games to get preached at, especially not by cardboard cutout characters with purple hair and zero personality. It’s like they took all the magic of the original, ran it through a tumblr filter, and shoved in dialogue trees that could be summarized as "you’re problematic." Of course it flopped lol.
