I've still only played the first Rayman. I should probably take a look at the 3d ones at some point I'm sure they're fine.

Here's mine.

It's good, but I liked Rayman 3 more.

Yes, it's true, the first 2D Rayman games are excellent, but they're also known for their high difficulty. Rayman 2, on the other hand, is definitely worth a look, especially thanks to its exceptional soundtrack. The difficulty remains quite high, though.

And for me, the best version of the game is the one on Nintendo 64. The PS2 version, I find it less good… In fact, they removed a lot of things, like the universe system before launching a new world. It masked a lot of transitions and added a certain charm, I think.

Oh, and I never filmed Rayman 3 in its entirety. In fact, I never really got into its humor. There was also a new gameplay system, with new powers for Rayman… It wasn't really to my taste. But despite that, I think it's still a good game. Thanks!

Rayman 2 is pretty great, never got past that final flying shell sequence back in the day, but I still find myself humming the main theme from time-to-time.
My own favorite is probably pic related. The comfy vibes are immaculate and after 14 years I'm still a bit sad they cancelled the sequel.

Too many posts about this game recently. Whats up with that? Anyway, I played the GBC version as a kid and loved it. It was so mystical and spooky and the villains looked like the most epic of elden meme bosses to my child brain back then. I haven't played any other Rayman games as I'm not into platformers, are those on Steam any good?

Type Rayman 2, the N64 version is the best:

I recently bought it on Gog but the game won't launch, so the emulator version is the only one available to me and not on Steam. The game is too old.

Are the different versions actually really different? Like different levels or things like that or was it all pretty much visual? I'll look into the 64 version first

I haven't tested all versions of the game. I've only tried the Windows version, the Nintendo 64 version, and the PS2 version. Of the three, my favorite is definitely the Nintendo 64 version. For the other versions I haven't tested, I think the differences are mostly graphical, but I can't say for sure.

Why can't you use a computer? You can make almost anything run with a little fix, or like you did with an emulator.
PC and Dreamcast versions are the best IMO, there is also Rayman Revolution on PS2 it has more content.

>Upon release, Rayman 2 had an issue with hidden in-game DRM incorrectly activating on legitimate copies of the game in the Top of the World level, halting progression entirely.

That's pretty funny. NTA but from what I've read it seems people like the 64's soundtrack the most and the Dreamcast version best. Then there's all the people who like the PS2 version because of it's additional content but there's also people who felt it ruined the flow. Think I'll try out the PC version the pcgamewiki fix seems easy enough.

Rayman 2... this guy's solid.
The dark, dream-like fairy-tale atmosphere, the killer eclectic soundtrack, the oddball cast, the gloomy ancient levels
The game is magical in the literal sense

For me, it's:
Rayman 2, Perfect Dark, Elden Ring, Diablo 2, Eternal Darkness
I'm not gonna choose which.

Oh well, thank you, I wanted to thank you: thanks to you, I managed to get my game working again on the GOG version, so on Windows. In fact, I had never installed the patch, so the game was completely bugged. So, for those who have the PC version, no need to use an emulator!
